DIY Ground Mount Solar Array | Building Our Largest Solar System Yet! | Off-Grid Solar Life

The infrastructure for our off-grid homestead is coming together with one of the largest builds yet! While Philip put together the electrical components of the solar system in Florida, we didn't want to assemble the solar array until we were ready to use it. The clock was ticking to complete this enormous 16-panel solar array before we left for Homesteaders of America. We'd been running our freezers on a generator for over 2 weeks. We couldn't leave the homestead without the solar system working! Come along while Philip and I assemble the wooden ground mount and install the 16 heavy solar panels, many high above the ground.

Getting the right ladder for the job is cheaper than the Doc.

If ya ever gotta do this again, toss the top panels on first then the bottom and alternate if you can, mount should be stable enough to do that. Top, bottom, top, bottom...

Nice build. Since this is stationary did you calculate the optimum angle for mounting based on your latitude?
