FYI : Agile Offroad and Owl Van now both offer an ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) module fix so that you now run up to 35inch tires vs the 32inch (275). 😊
Hell yeah! So much better 4x4 Overlanding van...If your going Overlanding, off the beaten path let face the facts...You'll need bigger tires anywhere from 32 to a 35 inch tire will be needed to gain ground clearance which means everything in the 4 wheel drive exploring adventure rigs. Those wimpy stock tires that come with the Sprinter van isn't going to cut it period! You have to go with companies who can outfit or makes upgrades that you can do yourself so that you can equip your Overlanding rig or exploring rig with the right set up...That's the only way you will be able to have peace of mind and have a capable off road adventure van like this one...Plus you get the cool factor that goes along with it. Who doesn't want that! Seriously! AOL does a really awesome job on education and products for your van. Of course there are alot of other really nice companies too like OWL, VAN COMPASS EXT that can help to and sell really nice products too. Enjoyed the video and see you next time on your next great adventure. 😊
How did you handle the speedometer issue? Did you reprogram for the larger sizes? If so, can you share approx cost for this and does it need to be done at the dealer?
Honestly i dont understand all this aftermarket kit ...i do have a My 2022 170 2wd Sprinter Converted ....we managed by replacing the front transversal leaf and rear leaf by adding 2 leaf and modified rear shock the same high as a 4x4 version and run with 245 75 r16 Ko2 on rim et54 qnd spacer Hoffman plus 2cm .... ride much better than 2 stage kit❤
Thank you for posting this informative video. I have just installed my 275/70/17's and have noticed the van is very sluggish compared to the factory tires. I also noticed the van is slightly shifting differently and running at a higher RPM. Obvioulsy we have larger tires and more weight. Im a bit concerned its causing too much stress on the drivetrain. Are you encountering the same issues?
My fuel economy definitely went down some. The guys at Agile Offroad did my wheels and tires and thought that size would be fine. I went to 35" tires on my FJ cruiser about 100k miles ago. That's a lot bigger and the only think I've really replaced that I think might be related was a whee bearing at around 80k miles. I'm about 5k Mike's on my van since they did the swap and crossed the Rockies in Colorado. Van did fine. What tires did you go with?
@@BigSexyBeastAdventures Thanks for the response. I went with 275/70/17. I’m more concerned about the shifting at a higher RPM…. I guess time will tell.
I've. Been pretty surprised at how tough these vans are. They are kind of basic farm trucks underneath with a Mercedes dash. I kind of expect I can get 300k miles on my van without much trouble. Fingers crossed.
@@BrianKeith12379 What do you mean with shifting? By the way, in Germany the max you can legally use is 265/70 r17. For this, the ECU/Boardcomputer has to be manipulated, as the tire is 8% bigger in cerciumference. Means, the speedometer show 7% less in speed. I heard, that at the 907 it is really hard to set the ECU to the right parameters. I do have a 906 4x4 which gets the 265.
Hey, I put the same wheels and tires and my cruise, etc. no longer work. Do you know of any options for reprogramming other than taking it to Mercedes?

Hey there... Mine works fine. Do you have. The adaptive cruise? You might call the folks at Agile Off-road... They can prob help you.
Mercedes is not able to program it properly unfortunately, they simply are not allowed to and / or don't now how to do it.
