Sorry, bullshit on that last part of the fight. Firstly, her hitting the ball into three separate balls is a feat of MAGIC not of STRENGTH. Really, the ability to create fireballs (Din's Fire, for example) is just as powerful as Peach's empress strike nonsense. Secondly: Zelda has the Triforce of Wisdom, and she gets blindsided by a falling sheep? What, was she not wise enough to realize that things that go up usually come back down again? Finally, why did the light arrow not kill? In Zelda's games I don't think it's ever been used on anyone who wasn't evil, but in Smash Brothers (which is used as canon frequently in Death Battle) the light arrow is exactly as effective against peach as it is against Ganondorf. If it was able to pierce through Peach's berserk mode and THEN shatter a bridge, it should have made mincemeat of her fleshy body.

And unlike the teleporting bosses in Mario games, they ether predictable and leave themselves open for attacks while Zelda has ninja like reflexes. That's what gets people really pissed off about this battle since it ignores how Peach could even touch Zelda to focus on how much overkill Peach's kick has.
Kyle Dean Zelda has never been proven to have ninja-like reflexes, and Peach can simply prevent her from using magic for a certain amount of time with her mute spell. Her moves are also less predictable and less conventional. Gameplay isn't a good indicator of how competent and powerful bosses really are. They are, after all, programmed to act a certain way.

Saying you have a real advantage with these because they are unpredictable, is like saying you have an advantage in a fight dressing up like a clown because it's less conventional. The only moves that are lethal to Zelda are Peach's kick, and burning her. Zeda on the other hand has weapons like daggers and arrows that make it so she could easily 1 shot Peach. Mute doesn't disable magical attacks, it prevents the person hit by it from talking, so Zelda can still use Magic even if she was hit by Mute, making Mute worthless Zelda does have the abilities of Sheik and Tetra. Sheik in cut scenes, although short, show Sheik to be agile, and Tetra has pirate experience. If Peach's bosses don't have their restrictions on telaportion or their general intelligence, then it would be impossible for her to even have a chance. Just put powers like that in a game of chess with ranges and pretty much gg. You would have to be extremely smart and tactical to realistically beat someone with of that unrestricted power. But since Peach rules over a kingdom that has higher inflation than a kingdom run by beans and has a plumber(who also doesn't live in the castle) as their best line of defense against the same enemy. In Zelda's hands, her kingdom has new foes attacking it as much as Ganon. Zelda is also the holder of the Tri-Force of wisdom with how wise she is.

Besides, she also has her Psych Bomb move as a lethal option, which Death Battle didn't list for some reason. The soccer kick isn't a valid move because she's never used it in combat. 2. I find it odd how Mario, who isn't known for talking and has three special attacks that are jumps, can be "muted." The name of that move has nothing to do with its functionality, especially when the in-game description of it says nothing about preventing anyone from talking. 3. If you're referring to Smash as evidence of Sheik's physical prowess, you're talking about a crossover series that makes characters like the Villager playable. If you're referring to Ocarina of Time, all we see her do is disappear. Tetra is a pirate, so theoretically, she should have some fighting experience. However, that is not enough as she has to demonstrate it, which she hasn't. 4. I'm not commenting on the limits of their intelligence; I'm saying that gameplay isn't a reliable indicator of them. Also, wisdom has no practical use in combat here. Zelda has no knowledge about Peach or the mushroom kingdom--only knowledge about Hyrule.

Also Peach isnt realy much of a fighter and through a few flashbacks has even been shown to be kind to Bowser a few times. I think in her case she really doesnt like fighting and only does so if she really has to. She would rather stay home and bake a cake than hurt anyone, even Bowser.
I think the reason it holds up so well is that this was the first time they hired professional animators to create the fight sequence. Prior to that, it was only the Screwattack crew doing it by themselves. They got the job done, sure, but they never had the same animation skills as actual pros. Basically, this episode is a very clear before-after moment in the Deathbattle history.

You should be, this battle was rigged as hell. However even if Peach really did have an advantage in combat somehow, it's that portrayal of Zelda that gets annoying. Unlike Peach, Zelda is not some damsel in distress with no experience or skills. She is an actual leader, who has fought on the front lines, used weapons and magic. She holds one 1/3 of the power of the gods. In OOT, as Shiek she was incredibly skilled and great at espionage. She was skilled both in Wind Waker and TP with a bow and Light Arrows. She was intelligent. What she lacked in sheer physical strength, she made up...as the namesake of her piece of Triforce...with wisdom. But instead that gets replaced by this girlish Zelda, getting into a slap fight and not the actual intelligent and strong Zelda she's known to be. I think they just wanted a reason to have peach drop kick someone.
This fight desperately deserves a rematch. Both have grown immensely since the fight and death battle used a lot of uncanon or weirdly researched data to determinethe result. Also, they completely left out phantom Zelda which is just inexcusable
Honestly, there might be a rematch since there have been more LoZ games where Zelda uses different magic and equipment and Peach has been on adventures and will get another game in 2024. After that comes out, there could be enough resources for a rematch to be meaningfully different.
That's because they are just blind by the character design, tone, and theme of the Mario series in comparison to the Zelda series. It's usually the reason why people tend to underestimate the DB winners. Not to mention the general audience simply find Zelda more favorable. Why else they would complain about the canoncity of any of Peach's moves ,despite the Mario series having no canoncity to speak of, while being completely fine with Zelda using her non-canon moveset from SSB and even try to bring more uncanon moves that would barely affect the outcome by bringing up Shiek(even though Wiz and Boomstick already addressed this) and claim what she can do in SSB and SSB only?
Zelda fans are just incredibly toxic. They are unhappy that Peach beats Zelda because they think she is the “better character“ and they don’t want to admit that Peach is stronger. They complain about Peach using her moves from Mario RPG when it’s literally canon since Mario doesn’t have a canon to begin with. Peach stomps so much it’s not even funny.
This is one of this death battles that doesn't make much sense. Peach won because of a move she did in a sports game that's not even canon to the Mario storyline? I'm terms of combat exp. and powers, Zelda wins. She's a skilled, swordswoman, white mage, and ninja. I'm sure they could have come up with a better match up.
No, she won because of her advantage over Zelda, the animation is not the determining factor, noting in it is the 'hinge point' as it is not representative of what WOULD happen, but what COULD happen. The could have replaced the 'soccer kick' with the psych bomb from SMRPG and gotten the same result. They could have had Peage rage and jump on Zelda, crushing and burning her to death. They could have had her Impale zelda with her parasol. The animation is for entertainment, the winner was decided by the person with the majority advantage via comperative research, as stated in the DB Q&A. As for Canon, Recall that smash is not Canon, yet Zelda recieved the skills she had there, and Smash is where the MAJORITY of her combat abilities, both hand to hand combat and offensive magical abilities, come from. If you limit Peach to core 'canon' games, which in this case would likely be anything but party/sports games, then you would also need to do the same to Zelda, which removes Smash from her, leaving her with the ONLY display of offensive ability as the light arrow. Recall that Zelda has NEVER shown any combat skill besides this herself. She has entered battle 5 times in her whole series herself, each time with link as the main combatant doing the melee fighting. And Sheik never fights at all in her series, merely teaches Link songs and hides, which is not combat experiance, it's only in Smash that Shiek shows us fighting skill, so once again if your going by 'canon' alone, Zelda handicapped by this more then Peach, as she still has SM2, SPM, SPP, and SMRPG supporting her combat abilities and fighting experiance, in which any one of those games has Peach fighting more battles then Zelda has in her entire series.
I agree about the animation but I have to disagree about your statement of Zelda's skills. I will admit that the Zelda games do not display her attributes within the games and it often makes you wonder why it's called "Legend of Zelda" if the story revolves around the legendary hero "Link" being reborn to save Hyrule... but that's another topic for another time. As for Zelda, yes we know Sheik never officially revealed her skill set in the Zelda Canon, however we do know that she is capable of those skills as OOT clearly states, she was trained by the Sheikah (please excuse spelling) so we know she has those skills even if she never used them in an "official" Zelda game. As for her white mage abilities she does have access to light magic, normally in the form of arrows, healing (I believe she's displayed it in one game, I could be wrong) telepotation as sheik, and in some games, premonition. Now as for her sword skills, we never see her fight in TP, but she does in HW, (some debate the games canon, but it does fit with the story so I see nothing wrong with it.) Also she has the tri-force of wisdom so her strategy far out classes Peach's. I mean come on, Zelda is the reincarnation of a goddess! I just thought she could have had a better opponent...
And what skills do Sheikah have that you can confirm other then disappearing/teleporting? Again, you relying on a set of skills you are assuming rather than confirming, it would be the same if we said Peach had 'powers' from being a star child based merely on the fact that she carries the title star child rather then anything she displayed. And Hyrule warrior was not out when THIS game came out, and once again goes into uncannon games to give Zelda skills, which again creates the double standard when you complain about Peach having 'uncanon' games.Relying on titles with accompanying head canon without the displays to back it up is just that, head canon, fanservice, and not what DB does when comparing the characters. If you want to have a rematch including Hyrule warrior, that's fine, but you have to use a consistent standard that allows Peach access to her uncanon games, which would then also include the new games SHE has been involved in since after this Death battle, which includes SMW3D and gives her access to further Mario power-ups and items. As for the Triforce of wisdom, it does make her a good stratagist, but that does not give her the abilities needed to carry out something successfully, which is why she has needed Link, Impa, and others to carry out her plans where she lacks the fighting skill and powers to do so herself.

Zelda does not have allot of feats to back her up, which is disappointing as she houses so much power, yet they've never actually expounded on what she could do. Anyways... I'm very curious as to how the white ranger is going to fair against a gundam warrior. Any predictions?
Misha I wonder what would have happened if Zelda had fought someone with a better reputation. The "she's a goddess" argument probably wouldn't have even been brought up. It all boils down to, "Zelda is the goddess Hylia while Peach is just...Peach, so Zelda should have won." It's a silly argument, anyway. Divine status has zero correlation with combat ability, or else divine beings like Aphrodite, Demeter, and Dionysus would be badasses, even though they clearly aren't. Besides, there have been plenty of mortal characters who have displayed far more combat ability than Zelda ever has. You would think that someone with the soul of a goddess would be able to fight on her own at least once, yet she repeatedly relies on someone who *isn't* divine. The entire argument falls apart if and when you look beyond the surface of it. Of course, Zelda can still win as she has her own advantages, even without the CD-i games, but being a goddess--a mortal reincarnation of a goddess, actually--won't help her.

The Mario Characters are superhuman. Bowser is just a villain whose power level is even beyond so he can get away with kidnapping Peach. It'd be as if Thanos was obsessed with Spider-Gwen, and Miles Morales kept having to save her until it became a meme. It wouldn't mean Spider Gwen is helpless. Thanos is just difficult even for a superhuman like her. Most idiots who'd attempt to kidnap her would get their head caved in.

Ganondorf is the reincarnation of Demise, the same Demon King that gave Hylia lots of trouble. All it took for Hylia to stop him was seal him away as the Imprisoned into the Sealed Grounds, not kill him. Now look how powerful Ganondorf is and look how much trouble he is giving for not just Link and Zelda, but Hyrule entirely.

If being reincarnated is such a big deal, then why hasn't Zelda, you know, fought by herself for a change? Why does she always need help? Actually, the Mega Strike is NOT really that strong. It is slightly stronger than her regular kick in that game. The game actually says that the ball clones itself when a Mega Strike is used. Peach doesn't kick the ball so hard, it tears into three. It would break and be unusable.

I doubt the sealing power nor Sheik could do something strong as that. There’s also mute that shuts down Zelda’s powers.
I had mentioned a while ago that they could do a rematch with some new feats and such, but with LoZ: Echoes of Wisdom announced, now Zelda will have some canon additions to her arsenal too.
Honestly, Peach has more tools at her disposal and Zelda's biggest asset is her magic. Unfortunately for Zelda, her magic is mostly useless against things that aren't evil.

Characters that should not be able to take a single punch can suddenly be hit by explosions, up until the very end when one character gets killed by a punch or something? That was ridiculous.

Yeah, Imma disagree on this one too. Zelda is far more tactically inclined; she wouldn't have fallen like that. Congratulations on being able to do the math on Peach's kick, but that doesn't mean she'd be smart enough to create a situation to use it.
Peach was born as a star child which gives her a lot more power, not to mention bowser himself Is way stronger than anyone in the Zelda universe except for possibly the original 3 gods but that's debatable. Not to mention in games like mario RPG she's fought in characters like smithy and Culex, even if it wasn't by herself.

I really hope that one day this gets remade. Even if the outcome is the same, Zelda has a useful new source, plus even the existing sources could be used differently and other feats and items are more represented.

Yea i agree, even though this battle was only about Zelda and Princess peach, Shiek is an assasins with skills way beyond zelda's and peach's so if they were to add Shiek then i think the battle would be over in a near instant
Wiz and Boomstick were a teeny bit off. At the maximum, it seems a Mega Strike creates *five more* soccer balls, delivering six goals if none are blocked. This only accentuates Peach obliterating Zelda's head with Empress Peach. But yes, the minimum amount is three.
Considering how they function in game i feel like they used that as a physical feat when it really isn't. Every character can kick a multiball shot and the ball not only multiplies on its way to the goal but if she was actually splitting the ball then the ball size should shrink. Additionally they can kick the ball faster (harder) without increasing the number of balls the mega shot sends meaning it isn't the force they hit with that's splitting the ball
They forgot to mention Zelda’s sealing power. I know Breath of the Wild was made after this, but Zelda is shown to have used this sealing power in OoT. They definitely nerfed Zelda in this one :/
but Sheik's reaction time and speed wouldn't have allowed that to happen. Then Sheik would have put a needle in Peach's brainstem and killed her before Peach knew what was coming. Plus, as the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom, she would have easily outsmarted the witless blonde.
If the kick wasn't strong enough to destroy the soccer ball why did you screwattack make it strong enough to kill a person? and at 4:26 for a kick so incredibly powerful it sure didn't move the soccer balls fast at all. In all honesty it seems more like an illusion kick if anything.
Ruri Gokou That's the biggest flaw in their video here. However, Peach does have an alternative to that kick: her Psych Bomb move from Super Mario RPG.
Ok, in the rules of Death Battle, they say that only CANON sources will be used in battles, and the Mario sports games ARE NOT CANON!!! Super Princess Peach is, but Mario Soccer isn't. Thus, Zelda should have won due to the rules of Death Battle and her superior combat training. Death Battle won.
In the video, they flat out said that she was good with a bow and had brief training under Link. Also, her training as Sheik should have given her plenty of training and combat ability to win.
To be honest, a win is really debatable here. First of all, Zelda. Despite not fighting often in main games, it's not the same as not fighting at all. If counting Hyrule Warriors, Zelda would win in melee combat due to fighting speeds. She has sealed Ganon in BoTW, and fight off strong beings. And Peach? Has much stronger but less continuous feats. I could go on but I'm exhausted.

I agree with this 100% not only because Peach won but because Peach actually holds great intelligence (....maybe) and power. Even though she hasn't have her fair share in main protagonist,She has shown more defense capability than Zelda has in her kidnapping run on.
Actually she has a lot of involvement in comparison to Zelda: SM2, SPM, SPP, and SMRPG all have he as a player character involved in the combat of the games, then you have games like the M&L series and PM which give her a role like Zelda where she supports the main characters even if she doesn't directly join them. In comparison, she has been through her fair share of battles, while Zelda has 5 through her entire series, and only as support. So yeah, Peach definetly has more development at this point then Zelda does. I would call Zelda the more intellegent of the two, but as far as combat and resourcefulness goes, Peach is just as capable in that aspect, but is not much of the leader that Zelda is.

That made no sense at all.. While Peach is a formidable fighter, Zelda's not as predictable as ScrewAttack says. She only seems predictable due to how players in Smash Bros. play her. I'm not even gonna explain how wrong the facts they have on Zelda are, because she's more capable and versatile than the credit they give her, but they forget that she has much more power and speed. She's also capable of predicting movements as seen when she is Sheik in OoC, while she never battles she was fully capable of predicting Link's movements, and whereabouts without following him like a stalker. And does anyone else find it strangely odd that just by chance she got hit by a rather slow moving Sleep-sheep that she SAW coming down? If this portrayed Zelda as the real wisdom-bearing individual she was, her Sheik-speed and reflexes would've kicked in and she would've dodged that sheep easily. I don't really trust 90% of the battles ScrewAttack simulates because alot of it is based on favoritism, disguised as tidbits of the character's bio, but they tend to leave out parts that would show the other side from winning. Such as in the case of Pikachu Vs Blanka, they never gave Pikachu a fair chance, making him a slower reflexed creature than he actually was, while Blanka may like to eat furry creatures right off, he's only as fast reflexed as a cave-beast. His dim-wit wouldn't be fast enough to keep up with Pikachu's self-strategy, and yes Pikachu is capable of performing strategy without Ash's aid, ScrewAttack. A final note to SA, I'm not ranting based on the character I like, I rant based on the fact that you hide facts about each character and make the one you dislike or don't like as much look less of a creature or character than they actually are. Don't sugar coat your favorite and dip the least favorite in acid to make the favorite look better. if you're gonna host these simulated animation battles, do it based on actual facts of the actual character, without hiding any facts of the other character or dimming them down, like you did to Zelda in this one. I'm a fan of Zelda and Peach equally, but everyone fully knows that Zelda is more than capable of outdoing Peach in agility and strategy.
You pretty much are ranting because of the character you like lost. Not to mention taking this more serious than you should. These are battles outcomes. Not official facts and decided matches. Pay attention to wild battles in pokemon games and anime, you realize the pokemon will often make bad move choices since they aren't familiar with type advantages and abilities. Ask for Zelda, stalking isn't a skill worth noting as this is a face off. And Zelda agility have been noted as they said her abilities are naturally with Zelda since it's a disguise. Plus, Shiek won't make much of a difference since the only game where she actually show her abilities were in Brawl, where everyone even her DB opponent can fight and beat. Zelda also hasn't been in physical activity. You only have two games(Melee and Brawl) which Peach is also in and more. Maybe you should take your own advice.
Wild pokemon are one thing, but we're talking about Ash's pikachu, which they stated WAS Ash's pikachu in the battle, go watch it. While they have no thoughts over Type advantages or abilities, this is a battle between Pikachu and Blanka, not another pokemon, Pikachu as seen in many of the episodes can think and solve issues by himself and can strategize attacks WITHOUT Ash. I have noted that Zelda is only in disguise, and my advice is taken, but you're telling me that Zelda's quick wit and lightning reflexes would not have been an advantage over a slow-moving sheep falling to her head that she clearly saw several seconds before impact? And you obviously did not read my whole post, I said I like Zelda and Peach EQUALLY, but I do not like that they made Zelda pretty much a dim-wit in this battle. They could've done better, as with many of the battles they simulated with other characters. Learn to read my whole posts before you contest my argument.
Pokémon will still make bad move choice when they are without their trainers or ignoring them. Pikachu isn't capable of strategizing attacks. His usual resort is to use thunderbolt when he's either being threaten or aggravated. No, you haven't. Zelda was too busy counter Peach's attacks while the sheep was falling. Plus, this fight is for entertainment. Not how they actually would fight. They animate the fight after the decides who wins.
For one to dawn a Geninja as their icon, you know nothing about Pikachu obviously. Pokemon will make bad choices, but Ash's Pikachu is capable of working without Ash, despite what ScrewAttack says. I've watched many episodes of Pokemon since the beginning of Pokemon's start. I was 8 years old when Pokemon first launched on American TV. I've kept up with majority of the series enough to see that Pikachu is more than capable of being without Ash if need-be. If you watched the fight, they both paused for several seconds as that sheep was falling, and Zelda did see it. She had plenty of time, given her quick-wit and agility to slip away. A person who has kept up with the Zelda series can tell you that.

That's true, but that was only because Ganon was running away on horseback too quickly for Link to attack him on horseback, so Zelda had to slow him down with her light arrows in order for Link to slash him. When fighting him head-on, Zelda either takes backstage or does nothing.

Firstly, her hitting the ball into three separate balls is a feat of MAGIC not of STRENGTH. Really, the ability to create fireballs (Din's Fire, for example) is just as powerful as Peach's empress strike nonsense.
Secondly: Zelda has the Triforce of Wisdom, and she gets blindsided by a falling sheep? What, was she not wise enough to realize that things that go up usually come back down again?
Finally, why did the light arrow not kill? In Zelda's games I don't think it's ever been used on anyone who wasn't evil, but in Smash Brothers (which is used as canon frequently in Death Battle) the light arrow is exactly as effective against peach as it is against Ganondorf. If it was able to pierce through Peach's berserk mode and THEN shatter a bridge, it should have made mincemeat of her fleshy body.
Matt K Actually, the Triforce of Wisdom does nothing for Zelda in combat, and the animation has no bearing on the actual outcome of the fight, which is proven by the research and explained in the analysis.

And unlike the teleporting bosses in Mario games, they ether predictable and leave themselves open for attacks while Zelda has ninja like reflexes. Kyle Dean Zelda has never been proven to have ninja-like reflexes, and Peach can simply prevent her from using magic for a certain amount of time with her mute spell. Her moves are also less predictable and less conventional.
Gameplay isn't a good indicator of how competent and powerful bosses really are. They are, after all, programmed to act a certain way.

Saying you have a real advantage with these because they are unpredictable, is like saying you have an advantage in a fight dressing up like a clown because it's less conventional. The only moves that are lethal to Zelda are Peach's kick, and burning her. Zeda on the other hand has weapons like daggers and arrows that make it so she could easily 1 shot Peach.
Mute doesn't disable magical attacks, it prevents the person hit by it from talking, so Zelda can still use Magic even if she was hit by Mute, making Mute worthless
Zelda does have the abilities of Sheik and Tetra. Sheik in cut scenes, although short, show Sheik to be agile, and Tetra has pirate experience.
If Peach's bosses don't have their restrictions on telaportion or their general intelligence, then it would be impossible for her to even have a chance. Just put powers like that in a game of chess with ranges and pretty much gg. You would have to be extremely smart and tactical to realistically beat someone with of that unrestricted power. But since Peach rules over a kingdom that has higher inflation than a kingdom run by beans and has a plumber(who also doesn't live in the castle) as their best line of defense against the same enemy. In Zelda's hands, her kingdom has new foes attacking it as much as Ganon. Zelda is also the holder of the Tri-Force of wisdom with how wise she is.
Kyle Dean 1. Having a quirkier and less readable move set is an advantage in combat. It's how combatants like Spider-Man and Deadpool win. Besides, she also has her Psych Bomb move as a lethal option, which Death Battle didn't list for some reason. The soccer kick isn't a valid move because she's never used it in combat.
2. I find it odd how Mario, who isn't known for talking and has three special attacks that are jumps, can be "muted." The name of that move has nothing to do with its functionality, especially when the in-game description of it says nothing about preventing anyone from talking.
3. If you're referring to Smash as evidence of Sheik's physical prowess, you're talking about a crossover series that makes characters like the Villager playable. If you're referring to Ocarina of Time, all we see her do is disappear. Tetra is a pirate, so theoretically, she should have some fighting experience. However, that is not enough as she has to demonstrate it, which she hasn't.
4. I'm not commenting on the limits of their intelligence; I'm saying that gameplay isn't a reliable indicator of them. Also, wisdom has no practical use in combat here. Zelda has no knowledge about Peach or the mushroom kingdom--only knowledge about Hyrule.

Honestly, animation-wise, this episode holds up incredibly well, minus the Zelda sprite. I'm impressed.
I think the reason it holds up so well is that this was the first time they hired professional animators to create the fight sequence. Prior to that, it was only the Screwattack crew doing it by themselves. They got the job done, sure, but they never had the same animation skills as actual pros.
Basically, this episode is a very clear before-after moment in the Deathbattle history.

You should be, this battle was rigged as hell. However even if Peach really did have an advantage in combat somehow, it's that portrayal of Zelda that gets annoying. Unlike Peach, Zelda is not some damsel in distress with no experience or skills. She is an actual leader, who has fought on the front lines, used weapons and magic. She holds one 1/3 of the power of the gods. In OOT, as Shiek she was incredibly skilled and great at espionage. She was skilled both in Wind Waker and TP with a bow and Light Arrows. That's because they are just blind by the character design, tone, and theme of the Mario series in comparison to the Zelda series. It's usually the reason why people tend to underestimate the DB winners. Not to mention the general audience simply find Zelda more favorable. Why else they would complain about the canoncity of any of Peach's moves ,despite the Mario series having no canoncity to speak of, while being completely fine with Zelda using her non-canon moveset from SSB and even try to bring more uncanon moves that would barely affect the outcome by bringing up Shiek(even though Wiz and Boomstick already addressed this) and claim what she can do in SSB and SSB only?

This is one of this death battles that doesn't make much sense. Peach won because of a move she did in a sports game that's not even canon to the Mario storyline? I'm terms of combat exp. and powers, Zelda wins. She's a skilled, swordswoman, white mage, and ninja. I'm sure they could have come up with a better match up.
There is no canon in the Mario universe.
No, she won because of her advantage over Zelda, the animation is not the determining factor, noting in it is the 'hinge point' as it is not representative of what WOULD happen, but what COULD happen. The could have replaced the 'soccer kick' with the psych bomb from SMRPG and gotten the same result. They could have had Peage rage and jump on Zelda, crushing and burning her to death. They could have had her Impale zelda with her parasol. The animation is for entertainment, the winner was decided by the person with the majority advantage via comperative research, as stated in the DB Q&A.
As for Canon, Recall that smash is not Canon, yet Zelda recieved the skills she had there, and Smash is where the MAJORITY of her combat abilities, both hand to hand combat and offensive magical abilities, come from. If you limit Peach to core 'canon' games, which in this case would likely be anything but party/sports games, then you would also need to do the same to Zelda, which removes Smash from her, leaving her with the ONLY display of offensive ability as the light arrow. Recall that Zelda has NEVER shown any combat skill besides this herself. She has entered battle 5 times in her whole series herself, each time with link as the main combatant doing the melee fighting.
And Sheik never fights at all in her series, merely teaches Link songs and hides, which is not combat experiance, it's only in Smash that Shiek shows us fighting skill, so once again if your going by 'canon' alone, Zelda handicapped by this more then Peach, as she still has SM2, SPM, SPP, and SMRPG supporting her combat abilities and fighting experiance, in which any one of those games has Peach fighting more battles then Zelda has in her entire series.
I agree about the animation but I have to disagree about your statement of Zelda's skills. I will admit that the Zelda games do not display her attributes within the games and it often makes you wonder why it's called "Legend of Zelda" if the story revolves around the legendary hero "Link" being reborn to save Hyrule... but that's another topic for another time. As for Zelda, yes we know Sheik never officially revealed her skill set in the Zelda Canon, however we do know that she is capable of those skills as OOT clearly states, she was trained by the Sheikah (please excuse spelling) so we know she has those skills even if she never used them in an "official" Zelda game. As for her white mage abilities she does have access to light magic, normally in the form of arrows, healing (I believe she's displayed it in one game, I could be wrong) telepotation as sheik, and in some games, premonition. Now as for her sword skills, we never see her fight in TP, but she does in HW, (some debate the games canon, but it does fit with the story so I see nothing wrong with it.) Also she has the tri-force of wisdom so her strategy far out classes Peach's. I mean come on, Zelda is the reincarnation of a goddess! I just thought she could have had a better opponent...
And what skills do Sheikah have that you can confirm other then disappearing/teleporting? Again, you relying on a set of skills you are assuming rather than confirming, it would be the same if we said Peach had 'powers' from being a star child based merely on the fact that she carries the title star child rather then anything she displayed. And Hyrule warrior was not out when THIS game came out, and once again goes into uncannon games to give Zelda skills, which again creates the double standard when you complain about Peach having 'uncanon' games.Relying on titles with accompanying head canon without the displays to back it up is just that, head canon, fanservice, and not what DB does when comparing the characters.
If you want to have a rematch including Hyrule warrior, that's fine, but you have to use a consistent standard that allows Peach access to her uncanon games, which would then also include the new games SHE has been involved in since after this Death battle, which includes SMW3D and gives her access to further Mario power-ups and items.
As for the Triforce of wisdom, it does make her a good stratagist, but that does not give her the abilities needed to carry out something successfully, which is why she has needed Link, Impa, and others to carry out her plans where she lacks the fighting skill and powers to do so herself.

It's a silly argument, anyway. Divine status has zero correlation with combat ability, or else divine beings like Aphrodite, Demeter, and Dionysus would be badasses, even though they clearly aren't. Besides, there have been plenty of mortal characters who have displayed far more combat ability than Zelda ever has. You would think that someone with the soul of a goddess would be able to fight on her own at least once, yet she repeatedly relies on someone who *isn't* divine. The entire argument falls apart if and when you look beyond the surface of it.
Of course, Zelda can still win as she has her own advantages, even without the CD-i games, but being a goddess--a mortal reincarnation of a goddess, actually--won't help her.

It means nothing at all. Ganondorf isn't powerful because he's reincarnated; he's powerful because he's the King of Evil. He's a very powerful sorcerer, as shown in Ocarina of Time. Reincarnation has nothing to do with it.
If being reincarnated is such a big deal, then why hasn't Zelda, you know, fought by herself for a change? Why does she always need help? The answer is easy; she has almost no combat potential within her own universe.

Actually, the Mega Strike is NOT really that strong. It is slightly stronger than her regular kick in that game. The game actually says that the ball clones itself when a Mega Strike is used. Peach doesn't kick the ball so hard, it tears into three. It would break and be unusable.

Considering how they function in game i feel like they used that as a physical feat when it really isn't. Every character can kick a multiball shot and the ball not only multiplies on its way to the goal but if she was actually splitting the ball then the ball size should shrink. Additionally they can kick the ball faster (harder) without increasing the number of balls the mega shot sends meaning it isn't the force they hit with that's splitting the ball

They forgot to mention Zelda’s sealing power. I know Breath of the Wild was made after this, but Zelda is shown to have used this sealing power in OoT. They definitely nerfed Zelda in this one :/

but Sheik's reaction time and speed wouldn't have allowed that to happen. Then Sheik would have put a needle in Peach's brainstem and killed her before Peach knew what was coming. Plus, as the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom, she would have easily outsmarted the witless blonde.

If the kick wasn't strong enough to destroy the soccer ball why did you screwattack make it strong enough to kill a person? and at 4:26 for a kick so incredibly powerful it sure didn't move the soccer balls fast at all. In all honesty it seems more like an illusion kick if anything.

Ok, in the rules of Death Battle, they say that only CANON sources will be used in battles, and the Mario sports games ARE NOT CANON!!! Super Princess Peach is, but Mario Soccer isn't. Thus, Zelda should have won due to the rules of Death Battle and her superior combat training. Death Battle won.

To be honest, a win is really debatable here. First of all, Zelda. Despite not fighting often in main games, it's not the same as not fighting at all. If counting Hyrule Warriors, Zelda would win in melee combat due to fighting speeds. She has sealed Ganon in BoTW, and fight off strong beings. And Peach? Has much stronger but less continuous feats. I could go on but I'm exhausted.
Never mind, Peach has plenty continuous feats, and could easily outmatch Zelda.

I agree with this 100% not only because Peach won but because Peach actually holds great intelligence (....maybe) and power. Even though she hasn't have her fair share in main protagonist,She has shown more defense capability than Zelda has in her kidnapping run on.
Actually she has a lot of involvement in comparison to Zelda: SM2, SPM, SPP, and SMRPG all have he as a player character involved in the combat of the games, then you have games like the M&L series and PM which give her a role like Zelda where she supports the main characters even if she doesn't directly join them. In comparison, she has been through her fair share of battles, while Zelda has 5 through her entire series, and only as support. So yeah, Peach definetly has more development at this point then Zelda does. I would call Zelda the more intellegent of the two, but as far as combat and resourcefulness goes, Peach is just as capable in that aspect, but is not much of the leader that Zelda is.

That made no sense at all.. While Peach is a formidable fighter, Zelda's not as predictable as ScrewAttack says. She only seems predictable due to how players in Smash Bros. play her. I'm not even gonna explain how wrong the facts they have on Zelda are, because she's more capable and versatile than the credit they give her, but they forget that she has much more power and speed. She's also capable of predicting movements as seen when she is Sheik in OoC, while she never battles she was fully capable of predicting Link's movements, and whereabouts without following him like a stalker.
And does anyone else find it strangely odd that just by chance she got hit by a rather slow moving Sleep-sheep that she SAW coming down? If this portrayed Zelda as the real wisdom-bearing individual she was, her Sheik-speed and reflexes would've kicked in and she would've dodged that sheep easily.
I don't really trust 90% of the battles ScrewAttack simulates because alot of it is based on favoritism, disguised as tidbits of the character's bio, but they tend to leave out parts that would show the other side from winning. Such as in the case of Pikachu Vs Blanka, they never gave Pikachu a fair chance, making him a slower reflexed creature than he actually was, while Blanka may like to eat furry creatures right off, he's only as fast reflexed as a cave-beast. His dim-wit wouldn't be fast enough to keep up with Pikachu's self-strategy, and yes Pikachu is capable of performing strategy without Ash's aid, ScrewAttack.
A final note to SA, I'm not ranting based on the character I like, I rant based on the fact that you hide facts about each character and make the one you dislike or don't like as much look less of a creature or character than they actually are. Don't sugar coat your favorite and dip the least favorite in acid to make the favorite look better. if you're gonna host these simulated animation battles, do it based on actual facts of the actual character, without hiding any facts of the other character or dimming them down, like you did to Zelda in this one. I'm a fan of Zelda and Peach equally, but everyone fully knows that Zelda is more than capable of outdoing Peach in agility and strategy.
You pretty much are ranting because of the character you like lost. Not to mention taking this more serious than you should. These are battles outcomes. Not official facts and decided matches. Pay attention to wild battles in pokemon games and anime, you realize the pokemon will often make bad move choices since they aren't familiar with type advantages and abilities.
Ask for Zelda, stalking isn't a skill worth noting as this is a face off. And Zelda agility have been noted as they said her abilities are naturally with Zelda since it's a disguise. Plus, Shiek won't make much of a difference since the only game where she actually show her abilities were in Brawl, where everyone even her DB opponent can fight and beat. Zelda also hasn't been in physical activity. You only have two games(Melee and Brawl) which Peach is also in and more. Maybe you should take your own advice.
Wild pokemon are one thing, but we're talking about Ash's pikachu, which they stated WAS Ash's pikachu in the battle, go watch it. While they have no thoughts over Type advantages or abilities, this is a battle between Pikachu and Blanka, not another pokemon, Pikachu as seen in many of the episodes can think and solve issues by himself and can strategize attacks WITHOUT Ash.
I have noted that Zelda is only in disguise, and my advice is taken, but you're telling me that Zelda's quick wit and lightning reflexes would not have been an advantage over a slow-moving sheep falling to her head that she clearly saw several seconds before impact?
And you obviously did not read my whole post, I said I like Zelda and Peach EQUALLY, but I do not like that they made Zelda pretty much a dim-wit in this battle. They could've done better, as with many of the battles they simulated with other characters.

No, you haven't. Zelda was too busy counter Peach's attacks while the sheep was falling. Plus, this fight is for entertainment. Not how they actually would fight. They animate the fight after the decides who wins.
For one to dawn a Geninja as their icon, you know nothing about Pikachu obviously. Pokemon will make bad choices, but Ash's Pikachu is capable of working without Ash, despite what ScrewAttack says. I've watched many episodes of Pokemon since the beginning of Pokemon's start. I was 8 years old when Pokemon first launched on American TV. I've kept up with majority of the series enough to see that Pikachu is more than capable of being without Ash if need-be.

I like how they bring out the megastrike for peach’s death battle but they don’t for Mario, Luigi, and Bowser’s death battles. It would of gave them a huge advantage
