So hard to believe, that such an amazing human being can attract only 7000 hits, but a cat hitting three notes with a paw get 5 million hits... Mrs. Rice, you are a class act!
It's funny, they are not abble to be present, they are unbalancing inbetween a hard past and the worried future. Inside the gap, they laugh. But who are you except sneezing pride sounds ?
Beautiful; I love that woman. And Condi is correct in my estimation; people are casually finding classical music and enjoying it (even if, like me -- sporadically) in ways not measured. My window in was the New England Conservatory Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. The disc they did from their June 1999 tour of Mexico and Cuba was the one that grabbed me.
This is delightful. Seeing political people outside of politics is absolutely crucial. You don;t have to love Secretary Rice's politics to see she is a fine person. If she gets back into politics at some point we can go back to debating her politics but for now she is just who she is. The points she made about everything not having to be easy is so true
Fascinating. Loved this episode. Thank you. "Markets work on information, and . . . information can be imperfect. I have to believe that when people have the chance to encounter classical music, they will buy it."
Mount Alison Dalhousie University very good Piano and was her escape as well thank you very nice Salt Flats on the Marsh historical monument goes back 1750 or so that's me too I miss her. Sawadee 🤠
Classic music needs depth to understand well by different composers in different eras for different meanings by different styles, I guess. Only professional professors maybe able to explain more for us to learn more to understand more and appreciate into the depth of complexity of classic music’s nature, I guess. Beethoven’s music is more serious, heavy laden, epic, magnificent and revolutionary and sometimes mixed with beautiful sentimental sections for us to enjoy with a comprehensive picture together. Bach’s music is a necessity practice into the classic theory. It’s very rhythmic and often very eccentric too. Chopin’s music is very beautiful, sentimental from any section mixed complex emotions. Mozart’s music is very delightful and relaxing, sometimes can be old time the dancing events in classical occasions. Brahms’ music is more simple and direct up to the sean he wanted to express and compose. I guess different characters and different time with the similar gifted musical talents produced different styles of the musics for peoples of ancient, modern and future people to enjoy or learn forever. The former Secretary of the State Rice is capable to govern, diligent student who achieved Doctoral degree as well as an music artist too. She’s an amazing model for all of us to learn from.
On the other hand, perhaps the greatest works ever produced in the English Language, Shakespeare's plays, were "crass commercial enterprise" written under political, religious, and commercial censorship.
I really enjoy Peter's interviews. As I look at the video selection I'm really surprised at the almost complete lack of women featured among them. How strange that here is one about a most controversial and highly placed woman in government and the topic is...her piano playing? Nothing against pianos and I love classical music but....jeeze! It's like interviewing Nikita Khrushchev and talking only about his shoe collection.
She is certainly more qualified than anyone else. Her leadership and wisdom have been thoroughly demonstrated in her position as Secretary of State and would be of great value in negotiating with representatives of world countries. I believe Ms. Rice is just the leader America needs to re-direct the protests , demonstrations, and restore the scholastic programs which combined with teaching of the fine arts and music.learning new vocational arts and skills, often Inspires and challenges those willing to grow above that which they had been which fail to challenge their mind, spirits and visions. Let's try it,
Brilliant and intelligent fine woman, I love Condoleezza Rice ❤

+tweeyboat it tells you how things are out there. mediocrity rules more than ever.
Isn't that the truth tweeyboat!!
Condoleeza Rice is the closest thing there is to aristocracy. She is brilliant, elegant, articulate and beautiful.
👌👌
True indeed!!

So TRUE I love her!!!!
What a remarkable woman.
I have a lot of admiration for her.

She did not back down when the commentator asked her what the value of the piano, and art was. She said it perfectly, and assertively.
What a delightful and enlightening conversation. Thank you, for making this available.
I absolutely loved this! Peter asked some really great questions. Thank you, Hoover Institution!!
I love you, Condi!!!

Why can't people take this as it is and leave their politics out of it?
love her
She should be on a veep shortlist
You can find here very good discussion of piano music.
This reminds me of Mr. Holland's Opus,
I work out to Mozart and Beethoven.. Vilvaldi can be fun as well, ,Led Zepplin is a little [too melodramatic for me
Why are they so complex to talk ...? Simplicity in piano is like the melody of birds. No justifications, no background, no worried memories.
On the other hand, perhaps the greatest works ever produced in the English Language, Shakespeare's plays, were "crass commercial enterprise" written under political, religious, and commercial censorship.
I enjoyed

Is this.... a bid for President of the United States?
lol

If only.
Condi the only republican I like
Well she's certainly a much better piano player than a Secretary of State. :)
Yeah, and Hillary handing Medvedev the reset button was SOOOOOO much better.
David Behsman Russia isn't the boogeyman anymore but yeah Hillary was awful too, certainly not Presidential material.
