The Evolution of the Rotterdam Metro network (1968-2022)

Animation showing the evolution of the Rotterdam Metro network from 1968 until 2022.
Inspired by Geoff Marshall's video: Evolution of the London Underground (although this a bit simpler than his one).
I made this because I was bored and wanted to practice with animating and video editing. It goes a bit faster than planned after rendering. The info text might be hard to read in time, luckily there is a pauze button. I got all my information from Wikipedia, so there might be mistakes.
The metro network has 5 lines at the moment and has a total length of 101km. There are 70 stations used by around 100 million people yearly. The operator of the network is the RET.

Not sure if they're still going to do that as I've recently read a document from 2021 that got published in June this year, where they discussed all the possibility's for a lightrail connection between Zoetermeer and Rotterdam. The metro turned out to be the best option there as it did years ago where they also researched possible lightrail traces from the current station in Lansingerland Zoetermeer on to Rodenrijs and further to Rotterdam. The metro would either then be expended to Lansingerland Zoetermeer or further on excisting rail from HTM to Centrum West in Zoetermeer. They still keep the option to expended RandstadRail line 4 to Rodenrijs open for discussion as that's the least expensive option from all 4 top lightrail traces. But seeing as they mostly discus metroline D being expended to Zoetermeer instead of the RandstadRail I doubt they'll go for an option that doesn't reach full capacity. Unless Ofcourse money is a problem. Even tho the metro would be the best option to convert the bustrack in to it would be a waste of money as they just build an extra rail near Pijnacker Zuid for metroline D to turn around to Spijkenisse again. They should have waited untill the research about the lightrail connection was done and a decision was made. I also read that they only looked at routes for the metro where they used power from a third rail (full metro) instead of overheadline between Rotterdam Centraal and Lansingerland Zoetermeer.

@@jusssie010 no that isnt true. You get i think false information. Im live in Rotterdam. You have already a fastbus from Rodenrijs to Zoetermeer centrum west. That is line 170

@@ishaannabie2660 Yes that bus travels on a bustrack seperated from other traffic and they plan to convert it in to lightrail. They had plans to do that years ago, but because of the costs they decided to create a bustrack first that could later be converted in to lightrail. And in the best future they want to do that in either metro or tram mode.
