Hi Jennifer, I really loved your piece in the March/April issue of Victoria. Victoria has not been fulfilling my subscription unfortunately, even when I called them and they said they would send me missed issues (I keep going to the newsstand to get them because mine aren't arriving by mail). Has that ever happened to you in your years of subscribing? I am a new subscriber and I am feeling disappointed about it and am now cancelling for a refund.
I just read your essay in the March Victoria magazine. So it was fun to find this video. Your essay was lovely, your words evoked Spring pictures in my mind. I looked up the Emily Dickinson poem as I was not familiar with it, thank you. Sometimes when I am not feeling well I look for little treasures in my day. Today you are one of my treasures, thank you, Jennifer.
Your work (books and UA-cam content) has inspired me to seek and create domestic bliss in a particularly ungraceful time in my life (early motherhood during COVID). I started reading good books again. I rediscovered the beauty of music and Art - I even founded a BookClub with like-minded people. Thanks to you, I have become a happier, healthier, more radiant version of myself, and, for all that, I cannot thank you enough, Jennifer.
I love how resilient and simple little pansies are. They're always the first spring flower I put out bc they can handle a little frost here in Kentucky. :)
On our walk this morning in the woods, we saw a butterfly 🦋 It made me so happy. I was super surprised to see it, I live in New Hampshire and I've never seen one in March!😅
I am 66 years old and I still think fondly of my mom's waffles with strawberries on top, so I am sure your family loves yours. Your camillias and lavender look beautiful. We have been preparing our garden beds by topping off with my husbands compost. I have planted some seeds for greens and peas, but we will have some frosts coming. Do you enrich your beds for the new season? Our Spring is happening early here in the midwest. It is my favorite season here.
Jennifer can you please upload a traveler's outfit guide video. I'd like to be comfy on a long flight and I'm not sure what to wear. I'm currently looking at SPANX Airessentials. I would love some help with what to wear on the trip. Perhaps a 5 item wardrobe for travel so that we can pack light. Thanks in advance!
I received a beautiful bowl of Polyanthus on Mothers Day from my niece. When the day had passed along with Monday and Tuesday, my husband planted them all in the garden. So many different colours and refreshing…….that was until yesterday….when I noticed that the Sparrows liked them as well and were enjoying a great feast. When I looked at them again this morning all I had left was stalks. 😢
Good morning, Jennifer! I love Victoria magazine and even more now that you are writing for it. I enjoy you reciting poetry. I’m inspired too to get my garden ready to plant. I see you plant several of the same herbs. I’ve not thought of this. I always run out of them, so this year I’m planting several of each 😊 Have a beautiful day!
Gsrdens are an elixir for the soul. Theres is never a failure in a garden just a reminder that nature knows more than we do❤. Your garden will be glorious and I cant wait to see it bloom . Thx for a lovely video, Jennifer
I still have tons of snow where I live so was nice to see you planting your garden! I so wish lavender was hardy in my gardening zone. I'll have to pick up the spring Victoria!
Thank you for this video, it helped me to feel Spring in my heart. Here in Southern Oregon, one day it feels like Spring then the next day snow will be here, the weatherman jokingly referred to the season right now as fools Spring. I am looking forward to the greening of the grass and being able to plant some flowers and veggies and the warmth of the sunshine. Thank you for breathing Spring and sunshine into our lives with your content, as well as your editor too. You both are greatly appreciated.
What a breath of spring your episode was today! I love Emily Dickenson's work, as I know you do. I loved listening to you recite your own poem, as well. When you talked about successes and "oops" in the garden, I thought of your great potato caper and smiled.
Your videos are like hanging out with a friend while doing chores in my kitchen. My home looks best on Mondays and Thursdays. 😂 Is it windy today where you are, Jennifer? Stay safe! 🧡
This episode was delightful to watch and listen to, Jennifer -as always, so soothing and calming... Although seeing you doing your gardening in that darling $80. top gave me a little anxiety..! Ha! I'd have a big dirt/water spot on the front if it were me doing that!
I love your spring video. Looking forward to my new Victoria magazine, made only better by you being the writer-in-residence❤ Spring is trying to come but winter refuses to let it go😮 xoxo Stacie
(Melanie here) I have a couple wonderful waffle recipes - one tastes like gingerbread. That one has ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg in it as well as buttermilk and 1/2 cup molasses (per 1 and half cups flour). It smells amazing when it is cooking. The other one has buttermilk, cinnamon and also 2 apples, grated and 1/2 cup of pecans. The grated apple makes the waffle moist but also crispy on the outside. Both of these recipes are in a cookbook I bought a long time ago called "Wake Up & Smell the Coffee" - Favorite breakfast and brunch recipes from the (Great) Lake States - Bed & Breakfast Inns. (Collected by Laura Zahn - Down to Earth Publications, St. Paul, Minnesota). There are other versions as well - Southwest, Pacific Northwest, Upper Midwest. It is such a delightful cookbook. The book tells you which Bed & Breakfast the recipe is from and a little about each B & B. I have actually been to some of the Bed & Breakfast and stayed with them. This is my kind of cookbook!
Oh my goodness, Jennifer. You are the dearest woman! What a lovely video in every way! I'm looking forward to tomorrows video! See you then!! With love, Kellie
We are headed to a nearly 70° weekend here in the PNW! What an amazing way to ring in Spring! The windows will be open and the area rugs and quilts will be out on the railings to soak in the fresh air! I too, love the fresh feels of the first days of Spring. Thank you for including “Domestic Bliss”! I am going to pen it onto the first page of my new Homekeeping Journal / Planner. My March issue of Victoria has not yet arrived. Hoping it will arrive soon. I look forward to reading your essay, Jennifer. Love, Lynne
Hello Jennifer, Your videos feel like a personal chat-so thank you for the encouragement. My mil puts plastic forks in her garden beds where her cat wants to recline; I thought she was having a senior moment but I’m thinking about trying this to keep my neighbor’s chickens out. 🤭 Please send all the lavender growing tips. Julie 🌷
Thank you for this video. I instantly felt more optimistic for warmer weather and temperatures…. Where I live we could still get a snow storm I do appreciate your videos and the care you show for your channel. Best of luck with your garden ❤
Such a lovely video, today. I had just come in from being outside taking stock of what needs to be done. As always the list is long but this year it is different...it seems doable! (I say that every year lol) FYI, Peppermint needs boarders. I have a container garden near our patio where the peppermint is part of the ground cover. Sometimes i plant it in a pot, then plant the pot in a raised bed. Happy gardening!
I just started my own spring garden tidy this morning. I came in to rest and found your lovely video which captured all the beautiful thoughts of spring. I loved the poetry you shared, both. Thank you for adding beauty to our day today!
This was lovely Jennifer, thank you for sharing. I ordered a subscription to Victoria Magazine and I can’t wait for the first issues to arrive! What a difference distance makes, maps tells me we’re 1k miles from LA in spring and we just got 8” of snow yesterday. Sigh, spring cannot come soon enough in the Rocky Mountains.
What a lovely video. I really enjoyed watching it as I peeled potatoes for dinner and enjoyed my first wood fire of the autumn. I’ll enjoy watching this video again once I’m preparing for spring in the southern hemisphere.
I loved the poem. It reminded me of The Night Before Christmas--just so wonderful to think of everything being in order lol! I thought the last line was going to be something like “it would last until I woke up” lol.
You inspired me to subscribe to Victoria magazine. I enjoy your essays very much. And just for good measure I subscribed to English Home too! My tea time is enhanced by these beautiful magazines. 🫖 📖
Jennifer, thank you for your gorgeous videos. Your lavender looks so healthy! How exciting that you are gardening already. We are still starting seeds indoors.
Jennifer I have a few weeks before we can start planting here, I'm so excited. Do you have any tips on growing lavender? I never have much luck with them. We're trying some grow bags this year so wish me luck! Thanks Jennifer 😊
I love your home making videos. They are very soothing and your poetry so lovely. Thank you for sharing your lovely home and garden with us. Your bracelets are beautiful. I can't wait to check that website. Have a wonderful weekend with your family. 💖
I love caring for my home and all that has to do with it. I used to be made to feel as though something was wrong about me for this character trait. But now I know that this is the way the Lord innately created me to be and function as a woman.
Hallo Jennifer ❤ that animal that sleeps in your lavender bush probably has some skin problem or mite infestation. 😢 it instinctively knows that the lavender will bring relief. 😊
I'm getting your 2nd book and it's coming already.'can't wait to read it.we have not much and I waited this far to finally have it.i got a preloved one though ❤❤

I love these videos focused on the pleasures of being at home in solitude, and enjoying simple daily life. These are my favorite. Thanks Jennifer.

Jennifer, that’s true luxury! You inspire me. Love your video ❤
In Queensland Australia we enjoy March the beginning of Autumn after the hot humid summers. Our gardens grow better at this time.
How wonderful! Enjoy your autumn 🍂
