I've been a part of the GC family from a small town in the North Eastern hills of India since high school. I'm 31 now. And, it's just overwhelming how far we've come. Great to see Billy still kicking it. Oh! Such good years with bangers for records.
Hey, this is Paljor from Sikkim, India, the first thing I did when we had internet was I downloaded Lifestyle of the rich and the famous and it took me almost a week to download it, that was 2005 I was 14 and now I am 29 and I still love Good Charlotte my fav Band. 😊
I remember my freshman year of high school during Covid (yes I’m a younger kid, I’m 19) I remember in class watching this stream when it first aired. I was such a music nerd and I’d been playing electric guitar all my life. I remember going home and learning the whole album front to back from this video. 4 years go by and I walk into a Sam ash before they closed, and I spot a Billy Martin signature PRS on the hook and I almost cried Istg. In freshman year I wanted one of those guitars so badly, I remember looking on eBay and reverb constantly for a deal on one with no luck. And then suddenly I walk into my local Sam ash and there it is on the rack. I bought that guitar and without a doubt out of the many other instruments in my collection, it’s my favorite. Thank you Billy for being one of my biggest musical and artistic inspirations, your awesome, big love from NJ 💚⚰️🦇🧛
I always tell anyone that will listen that this album has some of the best guitar/drum/bass tones. It’s huge. I love how that record sounds and I wish I knew what amps (assuming mesa boogie) they used to track it

The Chronicles of Life and Death is my favorite album by good Charlotte of all time. You guys were on some real shit back then and its heavily relevant now.

Yeah, I just commented, but I would like to point out that I grew up on Bluegrass music, that has some of the best harmonies EVER... That's what drew me to GC. The harmonies between Joel and Benji are something to write home about. I would say that "Chronicles of Life and Death" is still an album that my wife and I love. We were SO young!!! I was 22 and she was 20. I'm 39, pushing 40 in February and she's pushing 37, in January... Thanks for this Billy!!! "Seasons" is still, to this, day, my favorite GC song. The harmonies at the end push harmony boundaries. Highs and lows, mids... Such a great song for vocal harmony.

Going through a hardh time right now and found this. GC have been one of my favourite bands since I was 13! I'm 34 now! Doesn't matter what age i am, if i'm going through a tough time GC's music will always be there to get me through it
Can’t believe I’ve only just found out this exists. Learning GC songs is what taught me to play guitar, I used to listen so hard and watch live vids as a 12/13 year old to try to figure out all the different parts 😂 feel like it really trained my ears and helped give me a different level of appreciation for music. I really hope you do streams for young and the hopeless and chronicles of life and death Billy, there’s still some guitar parts I’d love to see how they’re actually played on the record (especially the verses in SOS please just to see if I got it right 😂😭)

You guys were my first rock concert ever in Mexico City back in 2005, I still have a tshirt from that haha, you were such an important part of my teenage years, I learned some of your songs when I began playing guitar and actually became vegetarian because of you Billy, thanks to you I realized all the horrible things we do to animals, I remember you once said something like "if I don't eat my dog, why would I eat a cow?" and it made total sense!!!! I've been vegetarian since then :) Thank you and the guys so so much for all you've given us.

Billy! I know it might sound odd coming from a 34-year-old guy like me, but I'll never forget the first time I saw you. It was at the Zenith in Paris when I was just 14. You guys were the main support for Sum 41, and I had only heard "Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous" on French radio the night before the concert, so I can't really say I was familiar with your music yet. You kicked off the show with "New Beginning," and I was standing in the left side of the mosh pit, right where you were on the stage. I had never seen anyone with such a rad haircut and those cool black bracelets, rocking that sick PRS guitar. Still to this day, it’s one of the best shows I ever attended. You, along with a few other musicians, are the reason I picked up a guitar, joined a band, and went on many tours. I'm sure you hear this a lot, but I don't think you fully realise the impact you had on kids like me who are now proud fathers and husbands. Thanks, dude!

I LOVE how Billy is still rocking the PRS after all these years. You generally don't see Punk rock guitarists playing such a legendary ax. I've been a fan of GC since I first heard "Little Things" on a Musicland/Sam Goody sampler, way back in 2000. It wasn't until "The Young and the Hopeless" where I became a huge fan. To this day, my wife and I are huge fans. We saw you guys twice in 2016, the two firsts for both of us. Warped Tour 2016, and Chill on the Hill 2016, both in the Detroit area. Chill on the Hill you guys took the stage right before NOFX, also my first time seeing them, I was a fan since the mid 90's of NOFX. Interesting show.

This is really cool. I’m pretty new to GC so I’ve mostly been focusing on the vocals on the songs to learn the words (and try work out which twin is singing which part…) - it’s nice to take some time to focus on and appreciate the guitar! Also I love art videos so I’ll definitely have to check some of those out too :)

Thank you! Back then I was using a Mesa Dual Rec and Benji was playing through a Soldano rig. So its a combo of those two!

I’m pretty new to GC so I’ve mostly been focusing on the vocals on the songs to learn the words (and try work out which twin is singing which part…) - it’s nice to take some time to focus on and appreciate the guitar! Awesome! Good Charlotte were a huge influence on me through high school. Must say that you were a guitar hero of mine. Still are. May I ask what tuning you are using throughout this stream? If don't remember wrong, you were a big fan of Drop-D back in the days? Is this standard tuning?
All songs were in standard except I Don’t Wanna Stop which he tuned to drop D - hope that helps!

What amp's being used in the distorted sections?
Billy are you the lead player or do you and Benji rotate between rhythm and lead. And Ps I hope you guys add say anything to your set list.
I am primarily the lead guitar player, but Benji has a handful of leads as well.
