People have hard time admitting how this poor country defeated soviet union, thats why they make it look like war between soviet and US. The withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan was a serious mistake! The West should have stayed there with a certain number of soldiers. Much has been achieved in Afghanistan in the past 20 years. Schools, hospitals and universities were built. Millions of Afghans enjoyed freedoms for the first time in their lives. Armed resistance has already formed in many places in Afghanistan. The West must support these people with money, weapons, ammunition, logistics and training. Air strikes would also be possible. The great danger now is that Afghanistan will once again become a haven for all sorts of Islamist terrorist organizations. The West must now get as many local workers and other particularly threatened groups of people out of this country as possible. This also applies to their core families. The goal must be to overthrow the Taliban and protect innocent people. That does not mean that one country can or should solve these problems on its own. Joe Biden has done a lot of damage to himself and his country!

We invaded kuz they harbored Bin Laden and massacred Hazaras etc So they bought it on themselves. If the Taliban invaded and held America because we harbored a terrorist from Afghanstan or massacred an Afghan ethnic group for their religion or race then I would not feel bad kuz we brought it on ourselves. And if we REALLY "took over" Afghanistan we would of extracted their trillions of dollars of Litium and Gold etc but we never touched it. Instead we donated trillions of dollars to rebuild the country....All we did was try to build a better Afghanistan for the common people rather then a colonial invasion. We failed, but saying we invaded just for the land and resources is insulting, so no he doesnt really have a fair point at all as he left out key factors in the invasion.

We never disputed that the Taliban were fighting for the freedom of Afghanistan, never once did we doubt that, and we most certainly respected them as a very organised and capable foe, a little to organised at times, times where we were caught of guard, I lost friends on my tour out there, but we knew what the crack was from the start, we chose to go and knew the risks, I just hope the Taliban know where to go from here on out, now they’ve secured victory, running a nation and forming a competent government is a completely new arena for them, but I wish them the best of luck.

Yes, people might want to leave the country for better life conditions, but that's not the primary reason.
Afghans main reason to leave their own country is because Taliban leaders are cruel dictators and the population knows, that once the world's media point their camera away, the will proceed with their harsh persecution and punishments.
If Taliban believe that chew and eat stones make people better, the world will not argue with them. As long as they do not force anyone else to chew the stones with them.
If they want people to rule over by force, then pick up an area to live in with all Taliban members and start a new country called whatever and only allow people that "freely" agrees with Taliban rules and beliefs to live in that country with whatever rules they want to enforce. Nobody has the rights to force people to accept their believes and rules by force and life threatening.

1) In February 2020 USA agreed to have all troops out by May 1st 2021. NATO forces have had 18 months to organise an evacuation and they failed.
2) USA unilaterally delayed the exit date to August 31st 2021. Taliban are, quite reasonably, saying they will accept no further delays.
3) He answers questions. No evasion or weasel-words.
I really do hope that in a year's time, I would come back to this video and be happy to say "these guys kept their promises"

A previous comment mentioned the title is misleading saying nowhere in the video does it mention there would be consequences. Sky News cut this out a few hours after they already released the video. I personally heard this Monday Morning and I was shocked when the spokesperson of the Taliban threatened saying there would be consequences if the US didn't withdrawal all military forces. The Taliban is calling the shots of when the US decides to complete our military withdrawal?
I mentioned this later to a co-worker and when I showed the video the line "Or there would be consequences" was cut from Sky News' video.

This shows how powerful the Main Stream Media can be by simply selectively editing videos to allow us the hear or not hear certain things. The fact that Sky News went back and edited out the consequences statement after they published the video says a lot.
