What It's Like To Sleep In A Boeing 747 Hotel Room

- Jumbostay has been on the tarmac of Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, since 2009. The Boeing 747 plane was built in 1976, and was last operated by Transjet, a Swedish airline that went bankrupt in 2002. It was converted by owner Oscar Diös into a functioning hotel.
It has 33 rooms and 76 beds. Guests can choose from the engine rooms - which are converted under the wings, to hostel-style beds, single rooms and the cockpit suite.
Booking the cockpit suite gets you exclusive access to the VIP lounge. The original airline seats are still in place, as well as bar, drawers and magazines. The control panel above the bed is still in place, and the room also has an ensuite.
Jumbostay's staff are all referred to as cabin crew, and wear stewards' uniforms. The plane is within easy reach of Arlanda Airport train station, and can be accessed by a free shuttle bus.

What It's Like To Sleep In A Boeing 747 Hotel Room
Why do they assume it will be cold? The plane was originally built to fly at 36,000 feet where the standard outside air temperature is-56.5°C (-69.7°F)
Because all the plane device were being removed
@@Theo-bk6qj surely they didn't think someone would turn a husk of a plane into a hotel without adequate heating? Plus, I'm referring to the insulation.

Wow that’s almost as cold as it was here in Minnesota last week
@@thebeast4853 blimey, I can't imagine it being that cold. I think the coldest winter I've experienced here in the UK is no more than - 10°c
I love this idea ...it helps reduce the use of natural resources and makes old things new instead of just building a whole new building
Igor Mezquita Yeah
“Worried it might be cold” oh it’s not like when at cruising altitude it’s -40 outside and the interior maintains 20 degrees C.
The heated air is from engines bleed valves. They use this air to prevent fuel from freezing, and u passengers from freezing.

Recycling level 747
Michelle Mapfumo
Really?
They did this before, but in god-like. They recycled parts from plane wreckage where people have died and put it on other aircraft models... Eastern Airlines Flight 401 spawn

Now _that_ is epic
U everywhere
They need to flying version of these. Wait............
Epic games

Why is it always an anime girl that says "Now that is epic"
I live in sweden and every time I go to the airport I see it 😂😂
Shamis Ahmed luckyyy
Aaaww so lucky of you. Definitely jealous with you
Shamis Ahmed same
"crys in swedish"
but everyone who go to airport see it. It a plane. Seeing do nothing.
Can’t wait for all the brand new Boeing 737 max hotels
ouch
Most of my colleagues are on “max” vacation 😁...
It must be pretty bizarre
FIRST
Second?
Dude I see you everywhere
Nope
No
I feel living inside Sportacus' house from Lazytown.
Wait i see that plane everytime I'm going to the airport
*WAIT THIS IS IN MY COUNTRY*
EQX ICYDEMON lucky! Sweden is a country of many talents.

I’ve stayed there! It’s a one of a kind experience that you’ll never forget! I highly recommend it to everyone when visiting Stockholm. 🇸🇪
We also have an old prison in Stockholm that’s been turned into a hotel: you actually get locked into the cell each night!
Me: Books a cockpit room

When I moved to Norway from Sweden (and every time I went abroad for holiday I remember driving/flying by this plane. It gives me such a nostalgic feeling looking back at that jet, remembering every time I left/entered Sweden via plane.
Ultimately you have to consider if someone who just spent several hours on a plane would want to get off, and then get back onto another kind of plane
That’s a cool idea!
Hopefully they can pick a better location in the future! I don’t think the airport view is anything luxurious
I would agree that it's not luxurious, but I'd say it's very cool for avgeeks!
Well it’s a hotel built in an airplane. Ask yourself who the primary target audience is? Aviation geeks or people looking for luxury.
@@0741921 or maybe people waiting for transit flight
A hotel that look like a airplane isn't luxious because it looking at the airport...where a actual plane fly
But how should they get the airplane to that place?
I can say it was so so comfortable to stay here! We stayed in the black box suite absolutely stunning! Would stay again in a heartbeat!
lol sounds ridiculous when you put it like that ''stayed in the black box suite'', but that's amazing!
"Sleep is for the weak"
Your profile picture makes this comment 100x better
Stayed in this - 10/10. Super convenient for a flight out the next morning.
It's so fun to fly 747. My whole childhood ,I pretty much spent on that plane lol. Loved every second of it... this looks super cozy too!
That looks so cool!!
Imagine if the planes actually flew while having the little capsules attached
Well the "capsules" are the engines
Oooof you dumbass
Wow Lizzy ......
This joke doesnt make any sense 🙄😂
This is so unique. Whoever had this idea is a really creative person
This is awesome.
This is such a cool idea! I’ve been to an airplane restaurant before and it was great.
I always see this when I fly out from Stockholm I’ve always wondered how it look like. Very cool
going here is on my bucket list
That looks cool.
Wow pretty cool stuff
The best room is in the front. It is amazing. where is the restaurant ????
They don't have a restaurant, but they do have a cafe and bar where you can buy breakfast, coffee, cookies, ice cream, sandwiches and warm meals and eat in.
@@Rath460 good to know 😀
@@mansoureh Oh, and it's located near the observation deck, built right onto its left wing.
@@Rath460 Have you stayed there? it looks really interesting
@@albertojimenez684 Nope. The cafe info was lifted from the hotel's official website
What a great idea love it 👌
Amazing. Just, amazing
This was one of Tom Haverford's ideas and I love it.
i bet its fun for the first 30 mins, and then you're like, 'where's the nearest holiday inn?'

This was a good explanetion
I’m going to Stockholm this summer, so will definitely plan on visiting this some way or another.
Maybe spending a few nights in there will help me overcome my fear of flying.
You son of a gun
Would be a cool experience especially for kids
That last little fun fact is what got my like
So awesome. I would love to stay there.
*AWESOMEEEEEEEEE*
Looks like the engines are their own little suites..how cute.
So need to try this!
Nice👍👍👍😎
I'm so jelly of anyone staying here!
*jelly*
Jelly srly?
It does look cool
If I ever go to sleep in one of these planes I think I'll never wake up!
⭕ with 747s gone from their majestic flights. These may be a few places where one can see them for real.
Budget airlines still uses old planes who knows if they get the 747s to have more people in them.
thats a great idea.
I love to sleep in the cockpit so i can be like in a flight simulator
I’m from Sweden and I have driven past this over twenty times and never been inside it so it’s nice to see it now
Haha, everytime I drive to work I see that plane because I live in Sweden first of all, and second of all the only way to my work is that way so yeah haha. 🤣
As a lover of planes this would be a dream
she said it does not feel plastic-y. Duh! Its a plane. Its made to fly ten kilometers up in the air ar 900km/h
It's awesome
I live in Sweden and every time I go t9 the airport I drive past this place! It’s pretty cool actually..
Pretty comfy
Those rooms where the turbines were look extremely cool
so, you go on a plane to get to a hotel plane?
I gotta try this some time, I don't live too far away from Arlanda.
I've been to this coffee shop that used to be an airplane, you guys should make a video on that as well.
Would make a cool to covert a 747 into a house but definitely this is on the bucket list
It's kinda funny she was pushing Circuit breakers like it was buttons 😂
I've booked the cockpit room for next February ✈
They should do the 747-8 and A380
Wow, cool!!! I have some property in Appalachia, will eventually build a house on it.... I should, instead, simply offer to “store” one of Quantas’ many disused 747-400s.
That plane had a total glow up
I show this video to my friends when I say I sleep in a plane
I sleep in my dads Cessna. I feel more calm in his plane than in my bed strangly
I thought you meant it was a hotel room in an in-use, flying plane!
Coolfred same
cool
I live in Sweden, I had no idea this hotel was there and I've been to Arlanda many time haha
Is used to fly pan am airlines that was in 1972 was lucky to get a first class ticket!
Would love to see the room in the engine. I know, probably not much. But just to see what kind of space would be left once the turbine is out. would be cool to see what was done.
I would love to stay at this 747 Hotel.
From my experience of something similar (a large bomber, I don't remember which) its very cool and not as cramped as you might think.
Here before 100k views
I’m live in Stockholm Sweden and every time I’m going to arlanda airport I see that plane
I live in Sweden and we have driven past this hotel probably 20 times when we’re going travelling, yet I have never stayed there

Yea
Next episode on Gordon Ramsay's Hotel Hell😂😎
This would actually be great for people who have their flights delayed for long periods of time, instead of giving them a hotel voucher they can just send them here!
ok. YES
It's really fascinating but how does it meet building codes? I think that would be the biggest hurdle in the US.
I'd love to be hosted on the cockpit room!
I'd be like a child playing with the yoke and the buttons and the throttle...
Cool
