Even if you lose a few times you still upload the game, that's cool 👍 Most other content creators only upload their victory and it makes the video much more predictable and boring. It allows us to see the strength and weakness of the deck you share so don't change anything 👌👌
16:30 you basically witnessed the best-case scenario for a Lake Trio deck and they still couldn't pull it off properly. It honestly just has no realistic viability because their HP is too low. What they would have had to have done to beat you is use Azelf to target Gengar and then have a Cyrus in their hand to force it out when you tried to use Gastly as a shield. As you say, there's just too much going on and too much luck required to ever make use of those cards; the consistency is worse than Misty and Celebi EX decks-even bad ones.
I just built a variation of an Infernape & Moltres with Giratina... it's glorious, especially as both Giratina and Moltres have a colorless energy slot...I call it "Free Retreat Estate"!
Don’t forget, gengar blocks supporter and right now I think decks run overall more supporter, Dawn and cyrus are very good cards that so many ppl run with leafs and professors. And blocking the cyrus with gengar is also huge for the lategame
Awesome video! Love the creativity and commitment to the big round ghostly boi One note: your sound effects were WAY louder than your voice or the music in the video and it made it hard to listen to the video at a volume that felt good
You NEED to try this deck I cooked, 9 win streak so far. It run 2 palkias, 2 articunos, 2 Manaphy, 2 eevees, 2 vapoureon, 2 oak and 2 ball, 2 misty, 2 leaf, and one Cape and x speed. Its a essentially a water version of charizard arcanine but with so many ways to get set up so you never brick - my favourite way to play is to use articuno for the midgame and then bring out a surprise palkia and set it up for the win
I feel like subbing drudd for gira and leaf for dawn just makes a better deck. It's basically the same except your opponent takes 20-40 damage each time they attack rather than 0-20
I see where you're coming from, but I disagree. I've played a lot of Gengar last set, and have been experimenting with Giratina in the new set. Consistency is really important in this deck, and Gira being a psychic mon for Slab is key. And Dawn acts as pseudo-ramp for Gengar, which is extremely powerful.
Personally, I'd use slab > pokeball > professor. Slab first because drawing pokemon out of pokeball and professors thins out the pokemon slab can hit. Pokeball and professor can go either way tbh but I mostly go pokeball first for thinning out the deck and draw my other cards; I go professor first only if I need a specific basic in the deck and I only have 1 or 2 basics in my hand or field, professor can narrow it down by drawing into other basics or stages, which gives me higher chance to get it via pokeball. P. S. I didn't really do tests or some kind of stuff, but it's just how it plays and make sense in my head so do take it with a grain of salt lul
@@marcocartaerainnocente7374 there are reasons for slabbing first. nice to keep a pokeball handy to save that x-speed or sabrina you just sent to the bottom of the deck that you desperately need. not everything is black and white
I'm also with your thoughts on favoring Slab in these scenarios. That moment showed a good argument of why favor Slab first (at around 10:35) when you have other stuff to keep digging on your deck. Because he had Slab and Oak in hand, he could've Slab first and get a Giratina, his next card in deck (we know this because of his Oak on the video). Then Oak to draw Communication (from the video's Oak) and the Pokeball we see when he Slabs last. Here he has a guaranteed Gastly in hand with the Pokeball. Lastly, Communication the Giratina away - we saw that it resulted in a Gengar. He could've had a Gastly and maybe he might've drawn into either Haunter or a way to attempt to search for it.
Appreciate your videos man, I love the calm commentation and analysis as you go with the match. I used to watch Godzly but sometimes he can come across as arrogant and usually plays off losses as "unlucky" and is biased towards wins. I like how you show your losses and admit that the build you made can have drawbacks. Keep up the amazing videos!
I've been pairing up dusknoir and 1 Giratina with gengar. It's less consistent but I learned that dusknoir can over heal his own hp. Example: Marowak got 2 heads on gengar taking it from 170-->10 hp. I put cape on gengar then used dusknoir ability. Dusknoir healed gengar to 190! (And died in the process giving my opponent a point). This is pretty cool because dusknoir only has 130hp. This combined with gengar ability basically locks the opponent since they can't use Cyrus. Not a high tier deck but if you want to meme a little bit maybe try it out.
I wonder if it will just always work like that or if it will be changed in a patch. Abilities like that have always existed in TCG, even the base set Alakazam had a power called Damage Swap that allowed you to move damage around however you liked but it explicitly stated you couldn't knock out your own pokemon with it and most variations of this power have similar wording (You basically can't take more damage than the HP you have).
If you want a kabutops deck with the new set, I got you. 2 kabutops line, 1 primeape line, 2 lucarios. and at least 1 giant cape. put that on kabutops with lucario on the bench, he is hitting for 70 or 90 if you got both Lucario's on line. and he heals the full 90 back with a total hp of 160 for only 1 energy. all Im saying is look into it and give me props lol. Love the videos and keep doing what your doing
been running this deck with 2 drud instead of primeape, kabutops is unkillable with 2 lucario they have to do more than 160 to win pretty much but then there’s the boosted lucario and second kabutops lol really fun deck especially the healing
Been using Lucario + Aerodactyl/Marowak deck and it’s so good!! You can be hitting up to 180 with Marowak on your second turn (if you have good coin flips) and you can two shot any EX with Aerodactyl as well.
I made a deck with that trio, along with a Mew ex and a Regigigas. With some X Speeds and Dawns, you can get online quick. Took out Dialga decks before they even had a chance. High risk/reward without bulk
Pokedex is better now than ever before with mythical slab. You can also reshuffle your deck with pokeball if you don't like what you see from a Pokedex. I'd highly recommend finding a way to work that into this deck, that'd help tremendously with the draw.
I’ve been trying this exact deck for the past hour in solo and pvp, and I’ve lost every single battle lmao. Either I have no draw cards at all or start with 1 basic and all support cards. There is no in between. What rotten luck 😢
I have a deck list that's hilarious and somewhat dangerous. X2 of the following. Druddigan, darkrai, greninja line, pokeball, prof research, Cyrus, giant cape (for darkrai), rocky helmet ( for druddigan). I ran 7 games with it and only lost 2. It's wild how far ppl will go to avoid hitting a rocky helmet drudd lol
Gengar is also my personal all time still fav pokemon! So if we can even get this guy in to B tier I would be happy! love the videos and build keep it up!!!
I've been playing a Spiritomb Cyrus shell in an Alakazam deck. It's been hella fun having the ability to snag my opponent's Pokémon before it can threaten my Alakazam.
You know what's better? 2 basic gengar line with 2 giratinas and 2 mismagius ex. Then run with dawn as usual. Taking away the ability to use support cards is so much stronger now. No more mythical slabs and pokemon comm. Just flex.
I think you should pretty much always Mythical Slab first, then Pokeball, then professors, and finally Communication. That gives you the highest chance to find Pokémon you want.
If you're gonna use both communications and slab on the same turn, you should probably use communications first so that the slabbed useless non-pokemon card doesn't get reshuffled.
I think about combine Mismagius EX with Gengar EX. Mismagius for early dmg and low retreat cost and ramp Gengar on the bench. With 2x PokeBall, Professor Oak, Mythical Slab, Pokemon Communication and 1 Sabrina and X speed. Unfortunately i dont have any Mismagius to try it

I feel like Gengar's design is legitimately interesting but too slow... Hurts my soul because I love Gengar. I wonder if maybe they had Ghastly have a 1 Psychic energy move that deals no damage but have the same effect as normal Gengar's Bother attack, and give Haunter an attack for 2 Psychic energy to do the same and deal 20 damage if that would make Gengar viable. Low damage deck that cuts off Supporters throughout the game instead of "Well they already played Misty."
As a tank.. use mew.. you can refresh it with BE plus more hp. If you want a starter use Sig draw your deck quick quick. Its faster but Gengar need a more energy faster
You aren’t using your myth slabs correctly. You use that first before using a prof oak card. Why you ask? Bc when you use a myth slab your deck doesn’t get shuffled it just stays how it was drawn
Please send some pack luck my way. I've opened over 30 packs and haven't got Pokemon Communication and only 2 Ex's! Yanmega and Mismagius. No Darkrai... Basically nothing I want 😬
In-game sound is loud compared to your speech. Just need to turn down the effects. It's hard to listen to you with the volume. It's to hard to continue watching. You cant watch this video with headphones in.
