This song was written by Brian about the breakup of his marriage and falling in love with someone else. And I love Brian's version of this song, singing it himself.
Written by Brian about his marriage break up.. but given the circumstances and it being released after Freddie passed.. it relates to Freddie. I don’t find it coincidental that Freddie is the main focus of this video, which was put out by Brian and the rest of the band.

listening to this i remember the rock songs ( amazing lyrics, amazing music , the whole package (i was a rocker in my young years) RIP ROCK. such a shame....
In one of the documentaries about Queen, one of Freddie's oldest friends said that Freddie, back in his college days, told him "I'm going to be a pop star". One day he went into the pub where Freddie would go, and he saw Freddie sitting by himself, looking all depressed. When he asked Freddie what was wrong, Freddie said "I'm not going to be a pop star"..... Pause.... And said "I'M GOING TO BE A LEGEND". I bet that guy was eventually blown away that he was right
I have to agree with you 100% If im not watching or listening to Queen, I find myself humming or singing anyone of their songs. Bad moods disappear when one listens to Queen & our beautiful Freddie darling ♥️
Amazing how this song is directly related to his great life. Greatest singer and group ever, here it is, August 2021 and it brought tears to my eyes again.
@Harry Warburg Harry "In my defense" no fue escrita por Brian, no recuerdo ahora quien lo escribio, ese tema es de Freddie como solista y es de la misma epoca del tema "Time" tambien de Freddie como solista

24 November 1991 - 24 November 2018 today marks the 27th anniversary of Freddie Mercury passing. May he rest in peace in heaven. We will remember his legacy forever.
"Too much love will kill you, just as sure as none at all" my favorite quote ever from any song , not just from Queen. I plan to get this quote tattooed onto me as it means so much to me . i turned 18 not long ago so i'm saving up. Queen and their lyrics/songs have helped me through a tonne of shit. Saved me from suicide, helped me through my chronic depression caused by PTSD at the young age of 15, calmed me through many panic attacks, helped me realise that life isn't all so serious , and most of all helped me realise who i really am after n=being clueless for years and what i strive for in life; love, passion and aspiration. It's almost as if each Queen song can relate to a time and situation in my or someone i knows' life and it brings back memories, being good or bad. Either way, that song gives me time to reflect upon that time in my life and i can really be in the moment. Oh what i would give to be able to see Queen with Freddie Mercury live just once for even just one song... i would treasure that moment forever and keep it close to my heart. However what he left behind is the most i can have and it saddens me . Most girls my age enjoy the modern music and don't get me wrong, i do enjoy a bit of modern music but stuff like rap and hip-hop does not appeal to me one single bit. It's a shame that's all you hear on the radio and TV these days because i would love to go to a concert.... although who to see is the big question. I wouldn't have to think twice if i lived in the 80's or if Freddie was still alive. That's what hurts my heart most. He could have been so much and could have done so much, even though he stated he had lived and was ready to go and would be happy, it's definite that he could have been so much more. But because of some nasty disease just like cancer, he didn't get the chance. However Freddie is still warming the hearts of many and enlightening young people with his touching lyrics and that's what makes him an amazing performer and artist. Not many singers hold that power. I love you Queen, Freddie Mercury with all my heart and despite not growing up with your music or growing with Freddie, they will forever have a special place in my heart and i will never stop listening them. I hope one day i grow wise and have children of my own and i wish to introduce them to the outstanding band to keep the passion and love for them growing. Thank you for teaching me the ways of life and leading me through difficult times at such a young age. "Lover of life, singer of songs" 1946-1991 We love you.
Love you Freddie ❤I found out about you and Queen when I was a kid and sadly you'd already left us but your music and soul is inspiring and you won't be matched
I was born in the late 2000's. I miss him dreadfully. I miss him probably more then anything else. I can't wait to see him in heaven. (Or hell. He said in an interview he'd rather be there)
Me, too. I miss his pure passion for music and people. He was such a treasure for the world. Not just because he was the greatest singer. But also because he was true to his dreams and lived more in 45 years than most of us manage in a lifetime.
I'm 18 years old and I if I wasn't for my mother, I never would of fallen in love with all 4 of them! I never got you met Freddie, I was born 2 generations too late. But I miss Freddie, like was there in the 70-80s. It sounds silly, i know, but they are my favorite band.
Same. I'm 21 years old and I love them. Cried a lot watching Bohemian Rhapsody movie a week ago and up til now it lingers. Im having marathon of freddie songs while at work right now because I strangely miss him so 😢
When that solo kicks in... Man! And then Freddies scream and final verse. That part always sends shivers down my spine. I've felt energy, anger, love, hope and all other kinds of emotional states from their songs but this is the only one that really makes me feel sad and sends shivers down my spine.
I am a fan since 1992, when I was 7. My family first CD was Queen's Greatest Hits II. The detail is that I learned English many years later, so I would love songs, even though I had no idea what the lyrics meant. Their music is hard to label, because they are not an 70s or 80s band. their sound combines elements of many different styles for example.
Do you believe Freddie thought he was a mediocre pianist? The last couple of tours they had a piano player and a guitar player in stage with them because Freddie wanted to "entertain". ... he always did
How can you not know how many Queen fans there are? Queen is one of the biggest and most loved bands of all time. Freddy has quite possibly the greatest voice in the history of music.
I was born the year Freddie died and was actually really introduced to Queen through a show that they did with Paul, not even knowing who Freddie Mercury was. First time I listened to Bohemian Rhapsody I hated it. More that I listened to it and Queen in general, I truly began to understand what music actually was. It wasn't just lyrics and instruments, it needed heart. That is what most music today is missing. Thank you Freddie for that. God bless.
Christian Renison I Reckon he would he would be writing operas and stuff, I think he would of left the rock scene mostly behind in his youth. Maybe he would of done the odd project with Queen but other than that he would be creating all sorts of other music. I just can't believe musician like him, the Beatles, Elvis even Micheal Jackson who was alive in my time.. i'll never meet. As a musician that is so gutting. So its cool to talk to people who have experienced meeting them like your self :)
he crushed these vocals, such power, even more amazing is how close to the end he was,he dug deep, delivered and became something more than a mortal man..awesome and sad at the same time.

One of the greatest bands ever. This man, this group is immortal and will live on forever. Take some notes……..this is the voice of a icon. Rip Mr. Freddie Mercury.❤
Love the way Freddie speaks about his life and feelings in almost every song.he was performing. Heartbreaking but so beautiful !
Freddie didn't write this song
This song was written by Brian about the breakup of his marriage and falling in love with someone else. And I love Brian's version of this song, singing it himself.
Written by Brian about his marriage break up.. but given the circumstances and it being released after Freddie passed.. it relates to Freddie. I don’t find it coincidental that Freddie is the main focus of this video, which was put out by Brian and the rest of the band.
This song really feels like it was made in heaven
No it was made on earth but it made by god
that's an understatement^ :)
We are made in heaven

LYRICS
I'm just the pieces of the man I used to be
Too many bitter tears are raining down on me
I'm far away from home
And I've been facing this alone
For much too long
Oh, I feel like no-one ever told the truth to me
About growing up and what a struggle it would be
In my tangled state of mind
I've been looking back to find
Where I went wrong
Too much love will kill you
If you can't make up your mind
Torn between the lover
And the love you leave behind
You're headed for disaster
'Cause you never read the signs
Too much love will kill you - every time
I'm just the shadow of the man I used to be
And it seems like there's no way out of this for me
I used to bring you sunshine
Now all I ever do is bring you down
Oh, how would it be if you were standing in my shoes
Can't you see that it's impossible to choose
No there's no making sense of it
Every way I go I'm bound to lose
Oh yes
Too much love will kill you
Just as sure as none at all
It'll drain the power that's in you
Make you plead and scream and crawl
And the pain will make you crazy
You're the victim of your crime
Too much love will kill you every time
Yes, too much love will kill you
It'll make your life a lie
Yes, too much love will kill you
And you won't understand why
You'd give your life, you'd sell your soul
But here it comes again
Too much love will kill you
In the end
In the end

In one of the documentaries about Queen, one of Freddie's oldest friends said that Freddie, back in his college days, told him "I'm going to be a pop star". One day he went into the pub where Freddie would go, and he saw Freddie sitting by himself, looking all depressed. When he asked Freddie what was wrong, Freddie said "I'm not going to be a pop star"..... Pause.... And said "I'M GOING TO BE A LEGEND". I bet that guy was eventually blown away that he was right

Too much love, Freddie, is what keeps you forever in our hearts.
"Too much love will kill you,
just as sure as none at all"
my favorite quote ever from any song , not just from Queen.
"Lover of life, singer of songs" 1946-1991

I never realised how many Queen fans exist. I am 13, i play piano and i want to become a producer. Queen fans are never alone❤
I could have been able to relate to that entire comment but I'm 14
I also play the piano I've been playing for 6 years I'm also in 13 im in 8th grade and I started playing when I was 7

El Jay Rose actually he seemed really energetic and happy, it's too bad he is gone know, imagine seeing him today 2016
Christian Renison I Reckon he would he would be writing operas and stuff, I think he would of left the rock scene mostly behind in his youth. Maybe he would of done the odd project with Queen but other than that he would be creating all sorts of other music.
