G’morning Davey. It’s been a while since visiting, been tying and preparing for the Bahamas trip, was very nice but very windy too. Got some bonefish every day. I’ve been home for a week now getting back to normal with my morning coffee and some videos. Thanks for sharing these new materials with us and your time. Cheers.

Nice video Davie. My wife is a quilter and years ago she was able to pick me up enough metallic thread on clearance to last the rest of my tying days. I typically hit the body with a little UV resin to finish the fly. Cheers.

Thanks for this Davie, I always enjoy when you make follow-up videos of you tying the flies you actually use in your fishing videos; I think it's a format that works really well! Cheers 🍻

Thanks for that, Davie. Enjoyed the tying and the stories. I've only the white color of the Metallic Madeira and have colored it with permanent marker. Not ideal, but it works. The color holds up on the fly well enough.

This reminded me I had a set of this thread, so tied some up at stupid O'clock this morning and had some nice roach and small chub on them a few hours later

Thanks Davie. No grayling in our local rivers - but will try it as a dropper off main dry fly tied NZ style - for lake rainbows

Great flies!!! I think they would work well for still water & rainbows.

I might think the time of the year that spawned eggs are moving close to the bottom makes the fly work as an egg pattern. As the eggs mature their color changes making one color work better than others do. 🤔

I've noticed that when the fishing day isn't good you can solve it with a jig nymph. with copper colored head.

Thanks for the video, wondering if you apply UV resins for a quicker sink rate. Thank you for sharing your talents 👍 🪰

    Hi Davie
Nice wee simple pattern that's affective... when fishing bugs for grayling i know there's no rules for dropper distance apart. But what do you recommend as distance apart for droppers .
    Kind regards .
    Ally .
