FoFoFu One Build Log - Wooden Sim Rig - Part Two - If it looks like a rig....

Part two of my timber sim rig build.
It's day 5 of the build and it's starting to look like a rig! We do a quick recap of what we are aiming to achieve and then take a look at what we have put together so far.
The seat is attached but we had to make some adaptions to the Niels Heusinkveld design to accommodate our car seat (the original design allows for a racing bucket seat).
The pedal plate is constructed but not fully attached and the side supports are in place.
Definitely something I would have done differently at this stage is more test fitting! The slide runners of the seat allow for a lot of rearwards travel that I do not need. I should have mounted the seat further forward.
I also made the assumption that the seating position is central to the rails. It isn't due to the height adjustment controls on one side of the seat. We didn't allow for this and we are going to need to redo some sections to get this right.
I'm still enjoying the build but 100%, if you do something like this (a timber rig build), then test fit as much as you can before screwing stuff down. Niels does make a point of highlighting this but I was excited to see progress and didn't do a lot of test fitting.
