Wow this explains a lot. I always felt dissatisfied with my well paying easy jobs. I quit my easy job for a new one building trailers for semis. 4 days a week 12 hour shifts, and I didn't even know how to use a wrench when I started. Now I'm one of the most efficient guys there , quick and strong, and I've even developed and iron grip just like my dad's. I have never felt so satisfied it's strange. I'll be looking for a promotion by Summer 2018. Great video and keep working hard.

Thanks! Sorry for the late reply. I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the work you're doing now. Sounds like your really slugging it out! There's nothing worse then sitting around all day feeling like you've accomplished nothing. It's awesome that you're noticing yourself getting stronger, more efficient and coming to the realization that you were made to build things and work with your hands.

It literally sucks ass if you have to choose between - A. being a "nerd" who has to sit hunched over for extended periods of time, basically spend most of your life staring at a screen, but get paid more? Maybe. or B. Get to smell fresh air, get exercise, more obvious accomplishments, possibly paid less, less career advancement, much more risk of injury and not being able to work. Modern culture makes such a fucking polarization between these two worlds, which is really anti-intellectual. We're pretending that sitting at a desk is so fucking smart -when most of these people still focus on trivial bullshit.

I'm a mechanic and if you look at the difference between the guys in the shop and the guys working at the desks up front it's like night and day. Nobody in the shop is overweight while everyone up front is in awful shape. I also take pride in knowing I can fix just about anything and don't have to depend on someone else. Yes it can be hard work but it's much more satisfying to go home at the end of the day feeling like you actually did something rather than going home and sitting on your butt after..well..sitting on your butt all day. I'll say this too, a manual labor job is like a free workout everyday and at 30 years old I'm the same size and in the same shape that I was in when I played sports in highschool. And believe me at my 10 year reunion I was in the very small minority of people who could say that. There were guys I went to school with that I would NEVER picture being fat but I didn't even recognize some of them. They must've gained 100 pounds in 10 years. Don't listen to anyone who tells you manual labor jobs aren't desirable. You can make good money and all you need after that is a healthy diet and you won't even have to work out to stay fit.
