Nice trick i actually had this issue yesterday ..... I turned off the breaker took a L shape pick and lifted that brass tab up a smidge and it worked for me ...
Hi Jim, that can work also. On the exhaust fan the way the socket was set I couldn't get to it to bend the tab. Reminds me of a job I did at a store I was working on the lights in and a bunch of the lights had this problem, so I bent the tabs. Only thing I noticed was that it had been done before and the tabs were getting weak from being bent so on a few of them I had to cheat and fold the tabs over to make it hit the bulb. They had lost their spring and would push back down and the bulb would go out.
We used to have a great country that demanded that industry adhere to standards. This is absolutely insane to witness. Irresponsible leadership in allowing this breach in quality by the pirates who imposed this LED transition. Where were the engineers? Where were the product testing professionals? They're all just apologists in boardrooms. We're so screwed (no pun intended.)

I done that very thing in a lamp yesterday. Could be done with any light socket as long as you cut off the power power supply.
Good advice short and sweet ( to the point) good work
This is a great idea! I'll do it today!
Thank you!
its been a year since your last video. Hope all is well, take care.
What wire did you use to solder where to buy it?

The problem is with the lamp socket, not the lamp bulb.
