I listen to this piece, over and over. There is just something magical about it, and I would love to be at the top of that mountain, playing alphorn (or even hammered dulcimer).
I love the fact that there is such a wide variety of music the world over. I love this type and many others but even the biggest cynic should be able to find something that he would like.
I am an American with Austrian relatives. I thought this particular version with the background music just puts me in a figure skating mood. Gosh, I could just fly across the ice to this music. The combinations are really catching and so helpful to the soul. Thanks

Ich, als Europäer, finde das nicht patriotisch... Warum soll das denn patriotisch sein? Es geht im Text um Berge... Die gibts überall. Die Melodie erinnert mich an nichts patriotisches. Das Alphorn ist klasse und wird auch richtig gut gespielt (Ik bin Countertenor und hör das Instrument zum ersten mal! Wusste net, dass man so viele Töne auf dem Ding spielen kann!!! Vom Posaunespielen kenn ich das Prinzip schon - Also allein diese Fähigkeit des Alphornblasens ist klasse, dann noch dieser coole Akzent der SängerFREUNDE) HERRLICH!!
