I can imagine the Jones' saying "Okay we loaded up the roster and they didn't show up in the playoffs, so let's see what the stripped down roster can do".
"Okay we loaded up the roster" Cowboys have failed to stop the run for a few years! Cowboys have failed to stop the Shanahan/McVay/Reid offensive/defensive schemes for a few years.
DT/LB/S-FS has been exposed for weak tackling and soft physical play for a few years!

McCarthy is a good coach, me is professional, he built last year's offense to make Dak better, the defense lost those 4 games and Dan Quinn sabotaged the playoff game.
If you think McCarthy is a good coach you don't know football. The reason the Cowboys have a good record during the regular season is because they have great talent and they should be good but during the playoff game against the Packers the entire team was clearly not ready. McCarthy calls the plays and CD Lamb is their best receiver so why did McCarthy not get him involved if he is a great coach? Lamb was even pissed off because of McCarthy not calling plays to go to Lamb. If McCarthy is a great coach then why are the Cowboys one of the most penalised team in the NFL 3 years in a row? McCarthy has terrible clock management even the analysts have said that the last 3 years about McCarthy. There's no disapline on the Cowboys at all. Just listen to McCarthy's post game speeches compared to other coaches and you will see McCarthy is terrible on motivating his team.
I agree and wasn’t a huge fan of McCarthy but he really showed his worth for getting Dak to play as well as he did in a new system..Now together with Zimmer as DC makes me like this coaching staff going forward
I like BigMike. He gets crapped on all the time. He needs more credit for what he has done. Dallas is unlike any other place. He’s handled the circus very well. He’s earned his top hat 🎩
Its not like Bill Belichick wasn't available this year... why waste a year with a talented roster ?... no free agents and didn't resign any of our key players... why would Belichick want to come here without Dak,Ceedee or micah?

McCarthy, better. Hope he makes it through this season without getting fired. Unless we have substantial hits on our draft picks. Given our current opponent list depending on how the NFL structures the games. I could definitely see us having a terrible start with multiple losses.

I disagree. Over the last 20-30 years, no other coach has won as many championships as Belichik, rhe closest would be Andy Reid who's 66.
You could say the only reason he hasn't had success the last few years is that he doesn't have the talent on the team anymore after Brady, Gronk, Edelman etc left. If you let him lead the talent that's on the Cowboys I don't doubt he'd be successful

As it stands it looks like they’re just setting him up to be the fall guy and will blame him for wanting his money when in all reality a good GM would still be able to manipulate the cap and put big name free agents around him.

I buy this 100%. The Patriots were famous for not overspending on players. Cutting guys loose and finding cheap replacements who fit the system... what are the Cowboys doing right now? And now there are reports that the architect of those Patriots teams is intereated in Dallas.... yeah, buying that 100%.

Belichek got a Mac Jones’s lead team to the playoffs. Bill can still coach, he’s not a general manager. So bill can still coach. I can’t stand narratives. Were the patriots good, no, but by then the damage had been done with the lack of talent in the building. The cowboys can draft so Bill focusing on his strength would work. But I do like Mike McCarthy so if not Bill then keep him.

Bill had a solid defense and still had mediocre teams with trash talent each year since TB12 left. Imagine what he would be able to do with a roster like Dallas, specifically a defensive piece like Micah. You get a decent OC under him, it would be a damn good fit. I guarantee a BB team never shows up in the playoffs as poorly prepared as Dallas was at home against GB. He would fix preparation and the terrible penalty issues Cowboys have been dealing with for years.

And winning a championship is important so the sooner we move on and try something new the sooner we might win one. Also I’m in the camp that your best chance to win is a good Qb on a rookie deal with as many studs around him as possible.
@@lovingfighter123 and for 54-60 mil a year on the cap you can get 5 to 6 top 5 players at there position that aren’t Qb or receiver and since we are keeping CD you could grab a good two and three and get even more help on the defensive side and try to go win. So long story short I don’t think Dak is good enough to carry the team but he also costs too much to load up the roster elsewhere.
