If you are referring to the character on MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, I am the writer who taught SMR to the actor, Cary Taganowa, who played the trade minister. I trained under Steven Bellamy Sensei, who received his Menkyo keiden from Kuroda Ishitaro Sensei, who received his from Shimizu Sensei. I never met Shimizu Sensei, or Kuroda Sensei, but did train in Japan with Kaminoda Tsunemori Sensei from time to time.
