Beating the game with a good ending left a smile on my face. I felt like I was there, not too long after Sonic left, to see what our actions has brought. We knew we were too cool.
Weirdly I prefer this compressed animation, think it fits really well with the pixel artstyle of the actual game more than the remastered cutscenes. The sound quality is really good for the time too.

See the bad ending in Sonic CD 920. In that version, which was the North American pre-release, they really make you feel like a failure for not getting all seven Time Stones. Not only are you treated to seeing the Little Planet imprisoned by Dr. Eggman again (because he got away with a Time Stone), but you're also treated to a "failure" tune, and the caption at the bottom reads "Try Again and Free (the) Little Planet Forever".
I agree with you, but I prefered the JP/EU music a LOT better than the US stuff! I had a Mega CD as well, and loved Sonic CD. I was estactic when I found the Gems collection on PS2 but was really disappointed with the soundtrack!
Yeah, I've heard both US and JP/EU endings, and the US one is far better and a lot more tolerable. I do wish they kept the sound effects for the US ending though, could've been in the background while the music played.
I remember when I got my good ending when sonic turn around then they hit the hard song beat I was like yoo and at the end they hit with the your too cool and I was like yea I am cool 😎👑💯
As far as the age-old soundtrack differences with Sonic CD goes, I have mixed feelings about both of them. Honestly, I felt that there was music in the North American version that worked better than the Japanese/European soundtrack and vice versa.

I've been looking for this one! Theres heaps of Sonic CD good endings on UA-cam, but the problem is, they're either the US version with the HORRIBLE sound track, or from Sonic Jam for Saturn, where the music comes in too early. That made me feel so nostalgic!
The ones who made the animation did all the work just for sega to turn it into a 8 bit disaster. at least the real animation was used for later releases.

True. The colors also seem a lot more vibrant in the compressed version.

They used animations cells to draw them
