From my experience, souls like games is like an acquired taste. Once you sample it you start to crave more. It's also a great lesson on patients and taking the time to adapt and learn how to overcome seemingly impossible enemies.
There's also just something rewarding for being the underdog where you die in one to two hits, and being that nat that takes down a stronger entity.
Anyway that being said, I'm hoping the hololive girls get permission for Code Vein. Think that anime style souls like game with it's story would get a few of the girls hooked.

True, I quit Dark Souls 3 after 3 deaths against the tutorial boss. Came back to it after falling in love with Elden Ring and now it's one of my favorites
