    The last year of my perimenopause was the worst time of my life. High levels of anxiety, breast pain, heavy periods, mood changes and don't forget shortness of breath. That is a big one!! I l literally convinced myself that i was always on the verge of a heart attack or stroke due to the heart palps and difficulty breathing. Ladies, vitamin D and probotics were a huge help during this time, also vitamin B12. I am now in menopause and the symptoms are not that bad , but the last year was horrible. Good luck ladies, stay strong, you've got this!

      Thank you so much for sharing! I am 54 with horrible cramps and clots, fatigue, heart palpitations and mild night sweats during my cycle. I am so over it! Will take your advice. I am also adding DHA rich fish oil, which I hope will help my cramps. Natural progesterone cream and oral progesterone both made things worse for me. Not doing that again. I remain hopeful that this will be my last year of perimenopausal hell, lol!! 😊

    I went through perimenopause for nine years. I’m 56 years old and am now four years post menopausal. Perimenopause was the hardest for me. Broken sleep, hot flashes, heart palpitations, achy joints, etc. I’m now on the other side, and my sleep is still not solid. I don’t drink alcohol, and I watch all my carbs including no sugar. I’m definitely stiffer than I used to be. Estrogen was our lubrication, and now we make less of it. For some reason I still wake up at least once in the night very warm. Ladies, if you’re reading this, not every woman follows in her mother’s footsteps. Both my sister and I had all the signs, but our mother breezed through it.

      Eat organic plant vegan, raw till 4, lots of vegan smoothies and real morning sun, no sunscreen. Stay away from anything chemical. Wear a hat instead. Laugh and dance. Nothing healthy about grass fed animals. They all still got vaccines full of VIRUSSES and antibiotics, female hormones and preservatives. Then you eat and store them. Gressfed is labeled after the animal got one week grass!!!! Wake up. Grass fed also means cutting down rainforest in Brazil and other countrys, importing your dead animal parts in who knows what condition, sprayed with who knows what and stealing your and my oxygyn. We're running out. Just so you can eat dead diseased making you sick animal parts. Polluting every lake, ocean and killing the bees and birds. If you want to get sick from any Virus, including the Corona virus keep eating the sticky animal fats with parasites that host VIRUSSES.

    Great video. Im 40 began perimenopause 2 years ago. Peri is pretty awful but one thing that it does teach you is to listen to your body and honor yourself more. I definitely needed to make lifestyles changes to reduce my anxiety and extremely heavy periods. What is helping me; iron supplement for the blood loss, vitamin c and b12, taking naps in the day, a good nights sleep-reduces anxiety and periods are "more manageable". Always pads in the 5 variety!! Those are a blessing. Also making time for self care every single day. Whatever you like to do, do it!
    I still havent found a cure for my brain fog, but thats ok. Also i had to cut out caffeine entirely- was giving me hot flashes. Since i am a Lifelong coffee drinker and couldnt give up coffee, i switched to decaf to still get "my mornings". My periods were getting closer together now they are moving further apart and they arent crazy long anymore. But i think stress reduction is really crucial for perimenopause symptoms. Im interested in the chasteberry. Maca didnt work for me. Gave me digestive issues. I will try diffusing lavender, i like that idea for a bedtime ritual. More lavender in the bedroom is such a nice idea!!

But I got hit with extremely heavy periods-long cycles-hot flashes-some urinary incontinence pretty much all at once. My anxiety had been getting worse also but i just thought I was becoming more sensitive. Until the menstrual issues really told hold then I knew something was going on. But supplements are so crucial and managing stress to be able to live somewhat normally. good luck! we all need it.

    Thank you so much for doing this segment, at 45 I have lots of questions!! LOTS! I also have PCOS and it is hindering my ability to loose weight, I have just learned "to live with it" until recently, so getting my hormones back inbalance has been a huge focus of mine and it seems like not a moment too soon after watching this. When I started my journey into a healthy life style change I found you when working on my emotional eating. I have a really good handle on that now,
    I have cut out added sugar from my diet, and I am enjoying foods that I never EVER thought I would want to eat. I belong to a few PCOS support groups and a common theme I hear women say is I fell off my diet and gained all the weight I lost plus more ( I have done that so many times in the past too) Or I hear them say they get upset and go on a eating binge or they cant control their sugar cravings.I always refer them back to your site, because I know until you fix the emotional eating and change the "diet" into a life style change that roller coaster will never stop. You have helped me so much in my journey and I hope the ladies I tell to check out your videos and website can walk away with the same story I have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Dani, its such a great idea to talk about this subject and to have an expert on the matter. I'm in perimenopause and as of now extreme fatigue is my biggest issue. I'm not saying i don't have some other symptoms but this one is the worst. I had a heart in 2017 and I'm still on meds so not all herbs can be recommended for me. I'd like to use food as my meds and then implement doctor recommended herbs/meds. Until that time can you list some specific foods to help balance hormones/especially energize me? I'm also T2 diabetic so I'd like to keep the foods low carb. I know soy products cause inflammation so id like to say away from soy. Thank you Dani-you are awesome.

  • @mrsannette7

    Wow I’m so glad I found this interview. My family’s been in COVID-19 self isolation for the last 3 weeks. Two of those, I’ve been experiencing nearly all of the symptoms explained here. Ramping up of hot flushes, night sweats, irritability, anxiety, mild incontinence, chronic hair loss and fatigue. Some of these symptoms have only just started and some are chronic but possibly confused with WLS. But most of these symptoms I’m now experiencing. Imagine starting hot flushes for the first time within the COVID-19 disaster, it’s so confusing! I knew I was peri menopausal, but it’s getting worse, and suddenly. And I have no family history of menopause, both my mother and Grandmother passed away young, and I have one sister who was born with special needs and has never experienced periods. I’m left a bit lost for experience. I’ve joined the Facebook group, and now might do some research into this phase of life that seems to have struck me hard. Desperate for a natural solution. As far as calorie count, I had a gastric bypass 14 months ago so my calorie count is limited regardless. I’ve also lost 63kg, so I’m in a far better place to be dealing with this phase. Thanks very much for the information, it’s been very helpful. Open to any recommendations proven effective. Kind regards, Annette from South Australia

    • @adgarrett1
      @adgarrett1 4 роки тому

      Hi Annette...stress can do all of the things you mentioned as well (except incontinence) so there may be an aspect of that at play...especially with the whole COVID situation. Extreme self-care is called for now...even though it can be hard with quarantine.
