I tried this recipe and it turned out absolutely amazing! I left it in the warm water for about 4 seconds and it came out of the dish perfectly. My grand children loved it as well as my children, thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I noticed that there were quite a few thumbs down, the only reason that they could have possibly have given you a thumbs down is if they themselves did something wrong. I hope you realize this. Thanks again and have a great day.

I've made this many times. Some banana slices on top are great too.
Mine is done slightly different because I just put it in a glass baking dish, put a few strawberries (sliced) into the mix, and then just add some more sliced strawberries on top.
Also!! Very important... I always let the first bit set for 2 hours not 30 minutes. So that the jello has some chunks in it.
    My family absolutely loves it.

This takes me back to my childhood, I can remember my Mom making this in 60's. We had a few Strawberry plants & it seemed like most desserts were made from Jello, Dream Whip & whatever else someone could come up with. Thanks for taking me back to being a kid!

Thanks! This recipe was great, I originally just liked to put jello in molds, but I wanted to try a real jello recipe, after searching all I could find was weird things put in plain gelatin but this recipe was great! it tasted amazing and everyone loves it! I even made someone who doesn't like jello try it and they couldn't get enough!

Possibly needs a bit longer than 4 hours I put in fridge for four hours and then a little bit in hot water for about a minute and when I came to flip over the mould on plate it came out flat and unstructured, could it be I put too much cooking oil? Or just needed to leave it longer in fridge?

Actually jello is the brand name for gelatin. But it the most popular, that most people in the United states. So most Americans call all gelatin jello. Jelly we spread on toast it clear fruit spread and jam had some chunks but also a fruit spread. Never send some to the store for you when you travel. You don't know what they will bring you back lol. This is and easy dish forever kids to make when they are first starting. You can get a kosher gelatin for those who don't do gelatin.
