I have my eyes on this partially because it seems large enough to place a quarter sheet pan such as a jelly roll pan on top of the grate. I'm used to having multiple pans available for my standard oven, and that capability alone seems far superior to the kettle/basket style airfryer I have now. I'm checking mostly if this has independent controls of the heating elements, but the lack of lighting is a turnoff. The exterior heat is a concern, but maybe it comes with the territory? Informative, so thanks.
Thank u for sharing. You answered all my questions. It's currently in my Amazon cart as we speak, cause my Costco(Canada) doesn't have it stock right now
Awesome!!! Simpson huh... One of my good friends in the Airforce last name was Simpson. I forget his first name since military and all use last names for everything lol, but you threw me back in time... Thank's for the comment S.S!!!
Just picked one up from Costco yesterday at the $99.00 sale price. First impressions are that is much bigger than my old Cusinart air fryer but it still fits nicely on my counter. I can see that I will be able to cook larger items and even a pizza now. Some negative aspects is that you need to wait for it to preheat before it turns the air fryer function on. Otherwise, the sale price makes this a pretty good buy.
@@uwilnvrkno I turned it down to 170 and it does not seem to go lower than this. Another observation is that there is no light in the oven which would be good to have so you can see the food. For the $99 price, it is still a good buy.
I got mine from Costco today $99 but it's a different model, I have a turn knob. Mine has small gap between French doors, wondering if I should take back?
@@Lisa-vy5oz The model that I have from Costco also has a turn knob at the bottom which is used to adjust the temp and cook time. My oven electronic display would not turn off until a long time and would suddenly go on without touching it. I brought it back to Costco and they refunded me right away. I then brought the same oven and it is fine now. I suggest you exchange it if you are unhappy with the gap on the door.
Thanks for pointing out where the Kalorik broke (at the hinge). The Kalorik lasted 3 years, then you bought the Gourmia. That makes me think I should just spend the $320 to get the Breville BOV900. Because I'm sure I'll use it for 3 years+ and I like the build quality of the Breville.
You are correct. After a long time of use I can see that being a great option. I use parchment paper every time to keep it clean as possible. Still, things tend to spill and what not so it is like you said. Up to the person. Cheers and thank you!!
I was looking at this in Walmart but I didn't really spend too much time looking at it. I'm guessing you can either use convection bake that uses the fan or a regular bake mode without the fan? I think for certain cakes and cookies you may not want the fan on and then probably try it without the drip tray the first time.
@@robertknight4672 Figures you get something and the newer model is improved enough to make a possible difference. Thanks for the Chat Robert!!! Be well!!!
It is the same size as our large microwave. It pushed it's way in that is for sure. It is large enough for that 15" pizza and the 20lb turkey that I haven't yet experimented with. I really hope this helps!!!
I thought it was huge before unboxing. We made a large space for it and took it out. Then we looked at our other air fryer (cuisineart) and was like. It's barely bigger. Wider but I think a little shorter.
@@HaOsLsE I hope at least it fulfills your needs!!! Once you have one, it's like, where have you been all my life... at least for me anyway :) Cheers!!!
I bought the smaller can you bring me a six slices version that has the same control panel. I just took some chicken drumsticks and in the came outreally good.
I have not made any of these on this unit sadly. The clean can get rough if you ignore it, but it is very spacious. I use parchment paper for all my cooks and everything is still clean w/o the discoloration high temps normally cause. I could clean the doors more often but that's just a quick pass of your organic or chem cleaner and you would be g2g.
So you can't have buttery popcorn?? Lol i gotta have butter otherwise popcorn doesn't have any flavor to me LOL but thank you for demonstrating this it's probably good for a lot of other things just not popcorn just use microwave popcorn LOL
I found the Walmart XL model but it is not on sale for only 50. PS: I'll work on the butter with parchment paper and see if it works lol... Thank you for the kind words!!! www.walmart.com/search?q=gourmia%20air%20fryer%20xl%20french%20door
Sometimes there are mistakes in the instruction manual but I think it's a rare occurrence. I purchased the smaller 6-slice version in the manual or tells you what settings have a preheat function and tells you if a bagel setting has a preheat which I found out does not because when I pressed bagel and hit start it started counting down right away.
My next video actually will be my making a 20lb turkey on this unit. I already cooked it and ate most of it lol... I won't spoil it for you... editing takes time :(
I keep my unit in a very well ventilated area, not close to anything and even use one of the racks on top of the unit to keep some things warm... Haven't had an issue yet, but I agree with you 100%, it is not a toy and it can be dangerous, so be careful 🙂
LoL, I like being real my guy! Mistakes happen and I'm more than happy to share them with you. Be well. PS: nothing wrong with gardening and I'm sure I would screw that up also, post it and have someone tell me to do air frying reviews... viscous cycle...
I found that if you place the rack up 2 from the bottom it pops perfectly...

Are the trays and interior stainless steel?
