Great fair round up as always. Problem with temperamental geniuses like Lucas Paqueta you are never sure which one will turn up depending on their mood.
He'll have had clear reasons for that starting line up, but it's difficult to know from the interviews because of the communication barrier atm. I loved the team spirit with the equalizer. I like the total change with subs. Anyway, we're only a handful of games in. Patience.
@@willdoyle6952 Maybe he thinks playing the old guard gives stability for the first few games. Maybe he thinks it's better for squad morale to not immediately ditch them. IMO, it'd be less frustrating if we knew, even if we didn't necessarily agree.
Stel, so why is West Ham fans is not advicing the coach to stop playing kudu on the left . From the Fulham match everyone can noticed that kudus was not comfortable playing on the left and was pissed when the coach instructed him to go on the left. If west ham Really want to win against Chelsea then kudus need to play on the right . Because kudus playing on the right hand side helps the connection with Bowen to score goals
That is almost the lineup I would like to see Stel. I want a ball player in the team so would replace Rodri with Paq or Soler in that formation. But until the Fulk is fit I would play 433 with Kudus as a false 9... Rodri Soler Alvarez Bowen Kudus Summerville
Also when Danny Ings said he’s happy and didn’t want to leave he is proving he’s worth keeping hopefully, I was happy when we signed Ings hoping he would change our fortunes not to be at the time but let’s now see ⚒️⚒️⚒️
I agree with you overall Stel. Several players looked like the needed a rest. Summerville, Todibo and Fullkrug to start (assuming he's fit). Bowen up front, or if Ings is in Bowen has to provide close support. Our attacking options are our strength, time to play to them. Especially as we have a more solid defence than last season.
Agreed Ian Our attacking line up got us a lot of points last season As you say, with a stronger defence this season, there’s no reason why we can’t push on
I dont mind us going defensive in the first half of away games. You have to soak up the inital pressure, & put out a more attacking line out 2nd half when your opponents are worn down. This seemed a peculiar line up, but possibly the idea was right.
JoLo needs half a season to work out his best team and some of the players need to get used to the premier league. It’s going to be a struggle for a while to come.

Whatever is going on behind closed doors, Lopetegui and his coaches certainly didn’t speak about which players could be affected by jet lag or which players coming back from international duty could be affected by travelling any distance or being delayed at airports. We saw from Moyes his effects of flogging a dead horse, when I first saw that lineup for Fulham, I honestly couldn’t believe Lopetegui would fall into that same trap. Player body language was also telling with Emerson getting rinsed by Adama Traoré, that was an injury waiting to happen, he had an earlier warning when he came off worse from another encounter. Kudus would normally assist with his defensive duties, but he just didn’t fancy it, and it showed, maybe travelling had caught up with him and playing in an unfavored position didn’t help. They had two weeks working with those players not heading out on international duty, I would have hoped they had them fitter and more match focus, but it seemed they did all the work in training and were left on the bench as if Lopetegui was telling someone something.
I don’t know what message and his training staff was sending out We heard that Summerville was the most impressive in training during the international break hence believing he would have started Quite what he saw in Soucek and Antonio starting I don’t know The Emerson kudus issue is interesting Maybe Lopetegui thought kudus would help out more in defence but as you suggested kudus didn’t drop back deep enough as he would normally be inclined to do if he played on the right Lopetegui must trust Summerville to play in the same team as Emerson otherwise we will be stuck with kudus playing in that side more than he and the fans would like
@@WESTHAMVOICE you have picked up again my theory about Summerville & Emerson, if Summerville had been so impressive in training, why put Kudus there? Kudus could have played centrally behind Ings, Summerville on the left and Bowen on the right interchanging possibly with Kudus to double up with Ings maybe? Even Soler or Paqueta in the middle, Summerville & Kudus out wide with Bowen centrally. Just adds more concerns about them playing together on the left. Was Cresswell not fit enough, even to replace Emerson when he got injured, so why include on the bench? Although it’s good to see positive responses to first half tactical mistakes, if there’s going to be a big decision made in the next window, I believe it will be Steidten looking for a clone of AWB for the left?
