- This video features the success story of Mr. Ricardo Sanchez, an organic rice farmer in Angat, Bulacan.
Mr. Sanchez is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering but he devoted his time and passion in agriculture. He has 2.5 hectares of rice farm wherein he planted organic black rice - a high value type of rice.
He shared that he is using System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in his farm. A farming methodology that aims to increase the yield of rice while using fewer resources and reducing environmental impacts.
According to Mr. Sanchez, he acquired the knowledge in organic farming through the support of CBE LifeBank Microfinance Foundation, Inc. a learning site for farmers in biodynamic composting and other organic and agricultural practices.
Mr. Sanchez also teach AESA to his co-farmers and promotes organic farming to save and protects our environment.
