I`m 5`7'' and sat on a new Himalayan at the dealer yesterday. It was on the centerstand and everything about the riding position was absolutely perfect for me. If you are much taller than me, it probably makes good sense to consider a set of risers. I liked everything about that bike and am going to liquidate my herd to buy a new one and a lot newer car. Hopefully the tripper will be available here in the states this spring.
Brilliant mate well I hope you like the bike as much as I do. Easiest thing on earth to ride. Absolutely as I say in the video fit risers if they are right for you. I tried them on the Himi and they weren't for me 👍 anyway thanks for watching I really appreciate it David
It is a personal choice, that is dependent on the type of riding you do. If you are a road rider doing long miles you know if your back is aching at the end of 300 miles. And you adjust accordingly if needed. If you are off road focused then you will know where your arms will fall for the best weight distribution and balance, which gives you the best control. Because falling off is painful and expensive.
best reason for me to have risers on the hima was that it raised the (stock) mirrors more over my shoulders so I get much better rear visibility as a result. as for getting my weight over the front; I'd have to say that my hima is too much of a multi-purpose ride to worry about that. I'd strip down all that guff on the bars so I could actually get my weight over the front without chinning the screen if it mattered. isn't it a weak technical argument for an all rounder? I'd probably say changing to high/low bend or one of the multitude of other types of bars would come first, ignoring relative cost.
Sure as I say in the video. I'm not saying don't fit handlebar risers I'm saying fit them if it's right for you and your circumstances.. Riding style ergonomics.. Seeing over your shoulders if that's your reason and it works for you great 👍

Completely agree with everything you say Colin. It's down to slot of factors for the bike and the rider. 👍 Thanks for watching mate.

You can fit handlebars with different rise and rearward trail/ deflection? ( is that the correct term) to avoid risers, should you want stronger bars.
Interesting video 😎
Thanks again. Glad you liked it 👍
