Thank you for this video. It allowed me to replace a hit and run on my 2019 truck which after paying for the mirrors myself, all the savings of anything really helped. You guys saved me a lot of money and also gave me a sense of autonomy in this situation. Again, thank you very much.
Thanks for posting this! I've had a rattle in my driver's mirror since I bought my truck. Now I know how to get in there and find what's rattling. It might even be the glass itself, not sure yet.
Is it possible to just get back covers for these mirrors? I have a small crack and an additional small puncture.. Everything miraculously in the mirror still works. I am trying to see if after-market back caps (upper and lowers) can be found.
I need a video on how to disassemble the opposite end of the 2018 F-350 folding mirror (the hinged folding end) in order to remove and replace the folding motor. Thanks!
Did you ever figure this out? I might try and buy a broken mirror assembly and see if I can tear it down. I’m looking to mount cameras and need to figure this out before blindly drilling holes.
@@BRAAAPOLOGY Yes, I pretty much figured it out. The manufacturer of the replacement gears and motors for the mirror fold function provided a document with description and photos. However, there were/are a few parts that need better detailed instructions. But, I have pretty much figured it out. Right now, since I am just experimenting (I'm a retired electrical engineer from GE), I'm setting up a 12VDC power supply and have wired up a polarity reversal switch (for fold-in and fold-out) to test the unit. I am in the process of identifying the wire colors for all of the mirror motors so that I can test functionality of all mirror functions (fold-in and fold-out, extend and retract towing mirrors, and main mirror up/down and side-to-side). I got the correct part number off of the main mirror connector and requested and received samples of the female pins from TE Connectivity so that I can connect to the connector pins without damaging them. If you need or would like help or information on what I have learned later on, I'd be glad to share that with you.
I thought this vid was going to show the extend motor replacement. My 2008 F-350 driver side mirror will fold and glass will tilt, etc., but when trying to extend I can hear the motor run but no movement. Must be a gear stripped or has come unfastened from a shaft? Pass side mirror works fine.
hey i have a question...can you get a camera on the bottom of that mirror where you can run the wire through the mirror to inside door? just installed the boost auto mirrors and i was thinking about running the turn signal cameras
@@BRAAAPOLOGY no they were very tight where the plug is on the inside mirror and I didn't want to hack them up being they were brand new at the time lol
Appreciate the time to do the video!!!! You just saved me from much frustration on replacing the full 2017 Superduty Mirror and topcap..

Thanks for the informative videos! You guys should have millions of subscribers with all the Ford owners out there. I subbed!

Is the front piece removable as well?
Yes
@@PrecisionRetrofitshow do you remove that front piece?
What about the henge part of the mirror? I’m trying to take them apart for paint.
Did you ever figure out how to do this?
Made the removal soo much easier thanks
Glad to help as much as we can!, New videos coming soon. Stay tuned!

Same on mine
I would love to see a video on this repair also.
Thank you great instructions
Has anyone taken this style mirror apart and shortened the two adjustable extension arms? Would like to loose an inch on each side.
You ever do this or find an answer? Would look so much better on an f150 this way
Where can I buy the switch back lights?
You can buy them through us, hit us up on instagram @precisionretrofits or give us a call!
Can the plastic over the two extension arms be replaced?
I have the same problem/question - did you ever determine if it could be?
@@EricduToit I actually was able to replace all plastic from one mirror to another. Didn't film any video. But if you take your time it is possible.

Can the extension arm part disassemble to for painting or do u just Paint that as all one piece?
Did you ever find the answer to this question I’m curious as well
Can the front plastic face plate be removed to? (I cracked the corner of my front face plate)
I am trying to find that out too.
How much for the headlights on your f-150
Subbed!
