This is a rare treat . I have been looking forward to this next in a series . Captain Nikki is so charming and the Bessie Ellen is such a fine boat . I have been replaying previous videos over and over again. As captain Nikki would say, "Well Done"!
The stuffing box should be accessible for every time you use the motor when you stop you tighten the gland and when you go you loosen it off little dribbles good I've seen 10 inch shafts with a 2-in boar in it from stuffing box on tugboats

Hi Edward, good to hear from you and about your appreciation of sailing and old boats. We definitely feel the same about Bessie Ellen, long may she (and Nikki) continue sailing. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 🙂
In short- What a mess..yet when you gather a crew,😮 unless your picky & EACH ONE has an organized life, you might as welcome a combination of Hornets- ants- rats and fleas aboard
