"Gilligan's Island" was one of my favorite childhood tv shows. I would watch it every day. This is a cover of the opening theme song that I put together with me playing everything. Enjoy. SW

Ever notice that every time he went fishing Gilligan catches everything except fish... here are some of the odd items he's reeled in over the course of the show:

The Ginger-Mary Ann debate would have come to a quick and final end if one of the actresses that read for the Mary Ann part had gotten it. It was Raquel Welch.
But as is, Ginger is the type of girl men fantasized about hooking up with in the 60's, but Mary Ann was the one you wanted to marry.

I also heard that the ratings were horrible when the show first started and it almost got cancelled. Glad it made it though.

Thank you. It was a fun recording project. I had planned to substitute the thunder sound but everyone seemed to get a good laugh out of this one so I kept it.

Could you do the ending theme too? and maybe the pilot theme (You know, the one with the calypso beat? "In tropical sea is a tropic port, vacation fun is the favorite sport, this is the place that the tourists flock, renting the boats at the busy dock!")

Your version, even with the less than authentic thunder sounds (actually that was funny) could have easily been inserted into the 4th season to spice things up, but then, there's that GUNSMOKE situation. great rendition. 5 Stars. By the way, if you type into search: russell johnson book signing.....part one is a fan singing the intro.
You guys nailed it. Now a suggestion. Perhaps you could redo the theme from the scond season of The Brady Bunch?

T-dude, I just sang the lead vocal twice and sang the harmony vocal twice. That's what makes it sound smooth. I do all my vocals that way.
I used a tube pre-amp and tube leveler amp when tracking, to give it some punch.
I didn't use much compression in the master channel. It could probably be a bit louder.

If they would have just killed Gilligan they would have got off the island years earlier.
You obviously have way too much time on your hands if you put this whole song together. Funny though.
