This is like the pinnicle of Bomberman. Its such a beautiful game to look at and has so much variety in both visual and audio design. Wish new Bomberman games would care as much as this one did :/. Excellent review! Keep up the great work fellow Bomberfan!
FYI, there's a rather amazing fan project called Power Bomberman that is completely free, and it takes many elements from Saturn Bomberman. The best part: it has 12-player online multiplayer!
this game was huge for me at parties in high school we would literally play straight through to dawn with this and Guardian Heros, those were damn good days.
Since I finally have a Saturn in my life, I need to get me a library card for Will's collection! Them's some cool cutscenes and the colours are pretty darned vibrant. My introduction to Bomberman was the 3D N64 title, I need to get some more CLASSIC Bomberman in my life
Everybody just talk over and over about multiplayer, so I'm super glad that you noticed subtle beauty of presentation! Pixelart and artistic direction in this game is so damn cute, clean and consistent. Look like the best modern approaches on pixels you can find on the market. For sure the best looking bomberman game ever made. Thanks for the review!
This is the best version of Bomberman, hands down! Last year at a get together we did a 10 player tournament with this game, it was amazing, all except keeping track of 10 controllers with everyone playing. I won the championship this past year and have to defend my championship this July. That reminds me I need to start practicing Bomberman again.
Oh wow. This brings back some memories when I'd stop over my best friend's house to play on his Dreamcast so many years ago. Thanks for the trip back to memory lane.
My favourite Sega Saturn game! My cousins and I still play it with the multi tap. It is hard to find and expensive if bought on eBay. Imho, the best Bomberman game of all time.
Super Bomberman was my first SNES game and also my first in the series. It's an incredibly fun single and multi-player experience. This looks like the same concept with much better graphics and a lot more content. I'll have to give it a shot.
I had a couple of questions about this game for you when I started the video, but you ended up answering them all during your video. Great job as always on the video!
How did I not know Saturn had Bomberman!? I must play this game, I have always loved all the old Bombermans and this one looks amazing. I used to love 4 player VS mode with my friends as a kid, I couldn't even guess how many hours we all spent blowing each other to pieces over the years. Thank you for bringing this game to my attention and for the great review - I may even buy a Saturn just to play this game if they're not too expensive. I'm glad I recently stumbled on this channel, it's motivated me to blow the dust out of several of my old cartridges. I'll try to keep comments to a minimum from now on because I can now see that you read and reply to comments on all your old videos and I've still got many left to watch but Saturn Bomberman got me too excited this time to not type something. Edit: Saturn was reasonably priced - but $100 for Bomberman?? :( But I think I may have to do it anyway, I can't resist owning this game.
Yeah, Saturn Bomberman is quite expensive, but so good. Feel free to comment as much as you like. I probably won't respond to all of them, but I like reading them.
Don't have a Saturn so I've never played this one, but I LOVE Bomberman. There are tons of them going back to 1983 if I remember correctly. I've played 4 of them: Bomberman 93 on Turbografx 16, Super Bomberman 1 and 2 for SNES, and Mega Bomberman on Genesis. I want to play this one (which is regarded as the best of them all) so badly.
I have never plated the single player on this but it looks like a lot of fun. Back in the day we actually did play 10 Player and man is it fun and hectic. Great video and review.
Beautiful looking game. It's great that pixel art based games can withstand the rest of time better than their 3D counterparts. Saturn was one heck of a console that I still love today. I will say games like Thunderforce 5 still look great but it's more 2.5D. Have you played that one yet?
I've never played the Saturn version before, but I'm a huge Bomberman fan! Battle mode against friends is so much fun! I've heard the Saturn version is the version to get, especially if you want that 10 player action. Pricey though! Great review!
I was first in the world to complete Bomberman: Act Zero on the Xbox 360. It's not a good game, but the first I played in the series. From my understanding of it Saturn Bomberman is among the best.
I just bought this game on the Saturn for a pretty penny. So I really hope it was worth it. I'm trying to collect for Sega Saturn, but I can barely keep those jewel cases from cracking. So sadly I have all my Saturn games in a CD Bookcase. Great Review. This is my rarest game on this system.
@@Cannotbetamed1 Well I've notice your very nice Saturn Collection in the back of you in your video and I was like how does she do it? I notice that Saturn Games have sky rocket as far as prices go. They are expensive to collect for. How did you get all the Saturn games? You must be rich! Or at least at one point were you a manager from a game store?
The Saturn had some pretty interesting things going for it. It didn't sell well due to Sega's incompetence and the hardware was damn near impossible to emulate. I enjoy the NES and SNES Bomberman games. There are a ton of drops, because you lose all your powerups every time you die (At least in the ones that I've played). I definitely agree that it is too easy to get over-zealous and get yourself killed. Bomberman was a fun little series for it's time.
I just got the import version of this game last month. Pretty stoked since i love bomberman. If your looking to check out a less traditional bomberman game bomberman 64 is pretty sweet. Its a pretty major departure from classic bomberman games like this one and the previous entries into the series but its still super cool.
I wish more games had the name of the console it resides on in the title. NGage Rayman Dreamcast Resident Evil 2 Gizmondo Sticky Balls Also, the footage looks crisp!
I've only played the Japanese Saturn Bomberman games ''Bomberman Fight!' and 'Bomberman Wars', but this looks to be a cool title. It's a shame that the PAL version is somewhat expensive.
Personally I was always intrigued by the story mode in this game, looks like a natural evolution of the Super Bomberman games which were already fun in that department, Would love to try this game but it's mad expensive and I don't have a Saturn.
I'll throw this out there- the price of this beast has gone way up. You can get the Japanese version for considerably less, and it's worth owning a Japanese Saturn for the amount of Japan-only games. We got totally screwed. /: Great review by the way! Bomberman is one of my favorite series, but I've yet to play this one. Gonna snag this right now.
You seem to own a lot of these rare Saturn titles, did you collect these before they ramped up in price or did you fork over majority of the ebay prices?
Nice, I got kind of screwed there and my chances of owning a lot of the rarer titles are significantly lower. For the import friendly titles I usually seek Japanese copies as a cheap alternative though my OCD wants me to get the long box cases.
Rare? No. Highly sought after? Absolutely. I didn't go the insane route to get my copy. Instead I went the Japanese version route and paid under $40 for my copy. Thank goodness for an Action Replay Plus cart.
I've Played Super Bomberman 2 on SNES and I wanna try the N64 one. I heard that Bomberman: Act Zero was Whack, Just as terrible as the Bad Box Art Mega Man. Bomberman would've been perfect for Smash Bros 4.
"rare exclusives for the Saturn", really..? I seriously recommend researching the Saturn, there's alot of fantastic great games for the system, both exclusive and multi-plat, it's one of the best consoles ever made.

I agree. Even the new Bomberman doesn't look nearly as nice as this one, it has such a charm to it.
Same for both games (and Puzzle Fighter) GREAT memories
The only bomberman I've ever loved fully. Big hopes for the new one coming out soon 2023.. hope people pick it up.
Man this game was the best on any console. It's a timeless classic.
Since I finally have a Saturn in my life, I need to get me a library card for Will's collection! Them's some cool cutscenes and the colours are pretty darned vibrant. My introduction to Bomberman was the 3D N64 title, I need to get some more CLASSIC Bomberman in my life

A 10 player competition sounds fun! I only played against the AI.

Agree with you 100%. With this game, i had the most fun in a video game! no exaggeration
Super Bomberman was my first SNES game and also my first in the series. It's an incredibly fun single and multi-player experience. This looks like the same concept with much better graphics and a lot more content. I'll have to give it a shot.
I'd like to give the other versions of Bomberman a try as well.
I had a couple of questions about this game for you when I started the video, but you ended up answering them all during your video. Great job as always on the video!
Thank you so much :)
This is the best version of bomberman, followed by Bomberman '94 on PC Engine. The real fun begins with the 4 player mode ... trust me
Thanks for the video and giving the Sega Saturn a little recognition. I agree that this game is beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed it.
MAN I SO WISH I HAD THAT GAME!
How did I not know Saturn had Bomberman!? I must play this game, I have always loved all the old Bombermans and this one looks amazing. Thanks for stopping by the market, sadly I had no Saturn games that day.
+Ryan AirZonkWorldChamp No worries, it was good to see you
wow a real classic throwback. remember bumping this gem on the sega saturn back in the days
I'm glad I finally played it
yeah well bomber man games in general are super dope. Keep the great videos coming
looks like a fun game, I like it when developers have a bit of fun with established franchises
Don't have a Saturn so I've never played this one, but I LOVE Bomberman. There are tons of them going back to 1983 if I remember correctly. I've never played Bomberman on Saturn, but i sure love the ones on Snes.
Thank you!
I have never plated the single player on this but it looks like a lot of fun. Back in the day we actually did play 10 Player and man is it fun and hectic. Great video and review.
That sounds like a ton of fun!
Great review! I grew up with the Bomberman games. You should definitely check out more of them. It was a such an awesome franchise!
Thanks! I probably will check out another or two in the series, I had a lot of fun with it.
This was an excellent review, my dear! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you :)
I love this game! I was very lucky to get it, as I looked on eBay and they're going for up to £106! Ridiculous!
i have a bomberman multi tap shaped as his head for this. BUT SADDEN level 3 kepos are boss especially green one

Such an awesome game. It's too bad I will probably never own it.
good review pam. Bomberman is my all time favorite puzzle game.
Thanks!
That capture looks crisp! Great review!
+Start To Continue Thank you! It's the new framemeister, it looks excellent.
the best bonberman game of all time. Period
I was first in the world to complete Bomberman: Act Zero on the Xbox 360. It's not a good game, but the first I played in the series. From my understanding of it Saturn Bomberman is among the best.
The Saturn version is the only one I've played, it's pretty excellent.
Lol. Mr. Meanie. The creativity is strong with Hudsonsoft. xD
Yep, not quite evil, just mean.
This is the best Bomberman game in the series IMO.
I have no basis for comparison, but it's hard to imagine it getting any better than this one.
Thanks! For NA Saturn and Sega CD games I'm often on the lookout for cheap sports games so I can steal their plastic cases for other games.

Great review Pam! I like puzzle games too but I don't have a Saturn. Maybe I'll pick one up one day...
Thank you. I haven't played a ton on Saturn, but I like most of what I've played so far.
Nice review that makes me want to buy a Saturn (because mine got lost somehow) and this game !
The Saturn wouldn't be too bad to replace, but this game has gotten super expensive.
Cannot be Tamed Damn, you are right ! The game is about 100€, the price of the console !
It looks cheaper in its Japanese version though.

Yeah I really liked playing it. I like the frequency of the drops, I just find the amount of different functions they have is a bit excessive.
Really enjoyed this review. Thanks x
Glad you liked it

I'll see if I can take a look at that one, though I have a hard time going back to the 64.
Rare? Yes
One Bomberman game down, another couple dozen to go. :)
Awesome. Thanks for this review.
My pleasure!
Love hudson soft game !!! Dawn you Komani for buying them and not usine thier franchises.
This is the best way to continue bomberman 5 (snes)
I wish more games had the name of the console it resides on in the title.

Hi, Pam. Amazing review. This was a game I'd never heard of before. Would you say it's worth the time to try?
Definitely worth checking out.
Cannot be Tamed Okay. Thanks.
I gave it a try last week and I like it.
I've only played the Japanese Saturn Bomberman games ''Bomberman Fight!' and 'Bomberman Wars', but this looks to be a cool title. It's a shame that the PAL version is somewhat expensive.
Yeah it's gotten really expensive :(
Erm, and there is a battle mode which goes up to 10 players with 2 multitaps and is by far the best feature of the game by far.
atomiswave1971 yep. I cover all the game modes in the video.
Personally I was always intrigued by the story mode in this game, looks like a natural evolution of the Super Bomberman games which were already fun in that department, Would love to try this game but it's mad expensive and I don't have a Saturn.
Those sexy scanlines though.
Great Video Pam!!! youre awesome!!!
Thanks!
Definitely should have bought this game years ago when I could have had it for $20.
Should have done that with a lot of games.

great video. you're actually lucky you got the game earlier than before. getting it now is around $200 or $400 on amazon and eBay.
I'm aware
I finally got it off eBay for $300. I'll let you know how it is.
Great game and a nice review :)
Thanks!
gewd game. Silhouette Mirage or Guardian Heroes are also good.
amazing job on a amazing video
Thank you :)
I never thought Saturn game has to be considered as retro.
Oh yeah, it's year 2016. It's retro.
Yep :-/
This game looks really good!
I only played Bomberman on the PS1 and it looks bad compared to this one.
Yeah, I think this one looks fantastic.
Would love to have this for my Saturn, unfortunately prices are stupid for it, unless you import, but It's in japanese.
Good review.
Thank you :)
Am i the only then back when i was a kid only use remote bombs?
@Cannot be Tamed @1:07 OF COURSE!!!!
You seem to own a lot of these rare Saturn titles, did you collect these before they ramped up in price or did you fork over majority of the ebay prices?
Not eBay prices, but they're mostly from the last few years. Most of the games doubled in price since buying them.
Nice, I got kind of screwed there and my chances of owning a lot of the rarer titles are significantly lower. For the import friendly titles I usually seek Japanese copies as a cheap alternative though my OCD wants me to get the long box cases.
WTF $69 FOR SATURN BOMBERMAN????? IM CRYING IM SO JEALOUS
Haha, that price sticker is really old.
So do you still have this game or sold it?
I don't even wanna know how much that saturn collection in the background cost.
Rare? No.
Highly sought after? Absolutely.

+CEWIIH it is a very rare game AND it is an exclusive. I have a complete Saturn set, go educate someone else about it.
saturn bomberman, the best
I am sorry Top Hat Man
but Cannot be Tamed wins

I wish it was still $69!!!!!!
Me too
@@Cannotbetamed1 I sold mine years ago for $80 😣 I just bought the Japanese version for much cheaper because I wanted to play it again. 😀
You actually need 2 multi taps to play a 10 player game
Yes, one 6 player adapter will not let 10 people play.
