You know, funnily enough, I listened to this video so much that my brain started to take it as part of the show. As far as I know, they're musical instruments now.
I love how the story of Tosca is so similar to this Hitman version. The man played by D'Alvade is being executed by bullets while her lover thinks he won't be actually killed. When she goes to him she realizes that he died and kills herself. It's quite amazing how the character of D'Alvade dies by bullets like he does.
I got to see this opera in real life. If you’re a fan of the game I highly recommend seeing it in person. It adds a whole lot more atmosphere to this mission ever since for me.
I actually went to watch Tosca not knowing that it was THE play and accidentally spoiled the plot for my date. As soon as i heard the underlying bassy music theme ("duun-duun", 1:27-1:28) in somewhere early-mid-play, I realised that this was THE play. In my excitement, I spouted out loud something akin to "hey.. wait a sec. i know what happens, that guy will get shot at the end". True story!
Yo fucking this, just saw it yesterday. Amazing play honestly. Its dumb but it was really exciting to hear all of the musical cues and voices IRL especially the climax at 2:41 and be able to recognize them from the game. Great level too, played it for ages.
This was one of my absolute favorite video game levels of all time... the music to give you a sense of timing, the back stage areas and level of construction giving you plenty of options and approaches... swapping out the prop, setting an explosive on the chandelier, and waiting by the exit in my suit... heating the song play for once final time before two lives end with a crescendo and a bang... absolutely brilliant
Thanks for writing that. For all these years I had wondered where the opera's song came from. Thanks to you I finally know where this song came from. After all these years, I finally know. Thank you.
At the start of the level, I would wait until the tool man enters the bathroom and strangle him to death. I would take his toolbox and place my bomb in it. I would then follow the people taking the tour of the theatre, and once they get to the lower level and hang outside the door before they go into the opera, I would throw the toolbox down making a noise. They would all stagger around a little bit wondering what the hell is going on. It is then that I would explode the toolbox. I would then run to the other side of the theater and grab the painters toolbox and place my bomb in it (of course murdering the painter). I would then race over to the large group of cops where the previous explosion took place. I would then drop the toolbox and detonate it. Don't forget poisoning the man's drink in the basement and bashing his friend with a hammer inside the locker room (the same locker room that the cops drag the bodies to).
***** Squeal like a pig!!!!! Sometimes when I am very patient, I would drop the bathroom construction worker's toolbox on the second floor just outside where Richard Delahunt is. When the group is walking back I would distract them by tossing a coin. When the full group is near and the police officer, I would detonate the bomb. Again, this is when I'm very patient since the group likes to split up from the third floor and walk down slowly. I would also need to distract them with enough coin tosses to make sure I can maximize my potential casualties in the group.
You're both noobs. Here's what I do: First, chat with the receptionist, get the real WW1 pistol from the jacket, follow the worker guy into the bathroom, Sedate him, take his clothes and put him in the bin. Then I use his outfit to access the top level of the building. I place a bomb near the lights above the stage, go back down and hide in the dressing room of the guy who aims the gun at the Alvaro, wait for him to briefly come back to his room between rehearsals and then step out to go to the bathroom at which point I swap the fake WW1 pistol with the real one, wait for him to come back from the bathroom, pick up the gun and go back to the stage for the next rehearsal, where he'll accidentally kill the target for me. When Delahunt realizes something's wrong and rushes to the stage, I blow up the bomb I planted earlier, which makes the lights fall down onto him and kill him.
First attempt: Kill everyone challenge. Second attempt: Replaced pistol and watched the show from close, Silent Assassin. The best game in the entire series.
@@theelegantassassin1174 You mean the dude who’s watching the show? If you mean that guy then you have to go ahead and place a bomb on the light attachments which are placed above the stage, you’ll do this first and then go for replacing the pistol, once the actor dies during the show, the other guy just starts panicking and rushes to the corpse of the actor, then you’ll detonate the bomb you placed at the beginning and the lights fall on top of him.
@@babadookdi4921 So the standard way? I've played through this game several times, so I'm quite familiar with it. I just assumed how you said you got a front row seat of the show, that the falling chandelier might present some danger for you, too
@@theelegantassassin1174 Oh there are 2 set of light attachments on the ceiling, on of em is the chandelier in which lands right in the middle of the saloon, and there’s the one for the lamps right above the actual stage where the actors stand, I put it on the lamps instead of the chandelier. And I detonate the bomb when I’m at the door of the saloon so no danger.
The gun trick in the game is a reference to the story of the opera. The police is finding Cesare, the protagonist, who is dressed like a woman for not being captured. In the final scene of Tosca, Mario(a friend of Cesare) is sentenced to be shot, for not revealing where is the protagonist, but they say that they're gonna be fake shots. This is a lie, as we can see in the game, Mario is killed.
