  • Randy Kissell, of Trinity Consultants in Durham, NC, with extensive aluminum structures design experience, presents a one-hour session on “Designing Aluminum Welds”. Randy provides a description of aluminum welding processes, the codes that govern their use and design, and methods for determining the strength of aluminum welds.
    About the Speaker
    Randy Kissell is a managing consultant for Trinity Consultants and has over 40 years of experience designing aluminum structures. He co-authored Aluminum Structures - A Guide to Their Specifications and Design published by John Wiley and co-holds numerous US patents on aluminum structures. Mr. Kissell is the secretary of the Aluminum Association’s Engineering Advisory Committee, responsible for the Specification for Aluminum Structures, and the chair of the American Welding Society’s Subcommittee on Aluminum Structures. He has conducted ASCE’s Designing Aluminum Structures seminar since 2002 and similar seminars for the National Council of Structural Engineering Associations and the American Welding Society.

    Regarding slide 47 (Time: 44:20), I think you got the legend colors backwards for the base and filler. Please correct me if I am wrong. Very good seminar.
