    The Silverbacks are a good tire also, they are more rounded and dig a bit more then the Outlaws, that's why most of us don't run them

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  12 років тому

    You have to di-electric grease all your electrical connections and spark plug boot, consider an exhaust snorkel as the big 700 single cylinder cats don't idle super well in the deep water. Check over all your snorkel connections. Then you should be good to go

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  12 років тому

    Good machines, properly set up they can hang with anyone else

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  11 років тому

    Only the Xmr models come snorkeled to the pod and the rad relocated on the front rack

    A little bit does not hurt anything...like the stuff flying off the tires, the air filter catches it...but if you submerge the machine you can have serious problems

    Alot of people either take them out or have smashed them out with the tires when not running the proper set up in the front end

    Don Sutton once said luck is the by-product of busting your fanny - am jealous - what a place! You will be lucky to get anyway near such an experience in the UK. Over regulation and too much organisation/health/safety disappoint many ATV riders in GB.
    However Russia, Iceland and if still feeling more adventurous the Sahara Desert would be the only way to go. Sir - life is a daring adventure or nothing at all while you keep up with the good work.

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  12 років тому

    Took them out, if you don't have your front end suspension set up correctly you can take out your headlights when comming down from a wheely, your tires will hit themand rip them out...lol, some people just remove them before that happens

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  12 років тому

    It's more for when you're stopped and just idling

    Grizzly's are the do-all of the quads. They don't have the most power nor the best ground clearance, but they have full-lock front diff, 2 brake levers, are lighter than the Kawi/CanAm/AC, are reliable and cheaper than most other brands, are easy to mod and very comfortable on the trail. Also, their belt system with constant pressure on the belt makes the belt last way longer than a polaris for example.

  • @backyardfilms07

    good thing you had snorkels

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  11 років тому

    As long as your machine is running no water can get into the exhaust

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  12 років тому

    The 700 is definitely going to have more power. You may be happier in the long run I think...with the 550 you may be wanting to upgrade in the future

    I7-2600 Quad 3.4ghz, 16gb Ram, 3.75TB's of storage, Nvidia GTX560ti, HP w2408h monitor, nothing outrageous but definitley rips through the HD video well. Looking at upgrading to a 27" monitor soon, or go duals

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  11 років тому

    You could try and put them up for sale and use the cash to help pay for the Outlaws

  • @ostacruiser
    @ostacruiser  12 років тому

    You can go rack deep, Your snorkels are on either side of the speedo pod. I have too much fun on my shorter frame XT

    The belts are all sealed, those who say belt-driven quads have problem in water are those that still drive a honda (the ONLY make that still isnt using belt drive).
    All you have to do is keep the water out of the belt's intake and exhaust, which is accomplished with those PVC pipes you see at the front of their handle bars.

    If you don't run the proper setup on your front suspension then the tires can hit your lights when coming down from a wheely, he just took them out

    nice vid! I love my honda due to the drive shaft instead of belt but it has a solid back axle and lacks on power only being a 500 an carbed...wouldnt mind a renagade though! BEAST MODE!

  • @ostacruiser

    I run a K&N Precharger, I cut extra holes in the end of the snorkel so the engine has got more places to draw air from. Seems to work great

  • @ostacruiser

    We all run Outlaws, they work better in our terrain with no bottom
