Abhishek RAGHURam made his illustrious grandfather proud with this mellifluous Sankarabharanam that is the essence of swarom, raga, rasa, bhakti. Added to its luster were Bhaskar's subdued violin without overwhelming that is the ideal way it has got to be -- the singer and his cousin the brilliant mridangam man Anantha R Krishnan. Now we have the grandson Palghat Ramprasad to make another grandfather proud and his grandsihya has been blessed -- twice -- with gifted grandkids. Of course, the Abhinavanandi had been blessed twice too with the great TR Rajamani Saar, my dear and loving friend, who gifted with well made cassettes[all of them in his private collection] of his famous father on a visit to my former residence in Long Island, New York some years back as I picked him up from his loving daughter Aruna Rajan[Rajamani saar calls her ever lovingly "Arun"]'s house in New Jersey where Pandit Jasraj passed away recently; the famed film actress Padmini and her husband Dr Ramachandran also died there) for a Nair dinner set by my wife Dr Suseela Kumar. Oh my.... This is unbelievably scintillating! For me it was Ecstasy from the word go and Somewhere down the line got transported into a sublime muscial world! No words are enough to describe this musical genius. Last but not least ,All the other muscians in the accompaniments matched him step for step and proved that they are doyens and experts in their respective fields. What an unbeatable winning combination! I wish Abishek and his brilliant team only the very best in all their endeavours. I pray to a Almighty God to bless them with health, wealth ,peace, prosperity, happiness and a long life. Cheers and god bless.
I clearly hear -- upon close listening Anantha R Krishnan for the third time -- the astounding mridu and the apt times 'garjana' mridanga sounds resembling his hugely reputable Grandfather Padmashri gentleman, with a BSc Mathematics degree from Palghat's Victoria College the alumni included one MDR with a BSc in Physics. Dr Narayanakurup Kanthikumar/River Islands/California/USA {Procovid, I am looking forward to the cousins' visit to the USA) When the singer stops as well as Bhaskar stops Anantha stops with perfect timing the hallmarks of the two grandmasters who taught the tricks of the trade by the dictum: " LOOK, LISTEN and LEARN !!! A lot of people have commented on the sheer calibre of this performance (of course any extra complements will not be enough). In this comment I'd like to take a moment to commend the very good audio quality of the recording. There is no clipping and the instruments are very well balanced making for a blissful listening experience.
The best part is, apart from Abhishek's performance, the recording companies, professionals, technitians should note the levels of supporting instruments and the quality. Wonderful.
I love the take by Abhishek of this Thyagarajaswami's classic wtith his cousin on brilliant mridangam that would steal the heart of Palghat late Sri Raghu Saar Narayanakurup Kanthi Kumar in River Islands California
I thank you; I meant every word of it. Palghat Sri Raghu with MDR as he sang the most elaborate -- some 45 minutes -- Amba Kamakshi Swarajati!!! Sri Raghu saar once with KVN who was singing Ennaga mansur kurani when uncharacteristically developed some coughing forcing him to stop for couple of seconds; Sri TNK without missing a beat completed the anupallavi with Raghu Saar's mridangam singing along. So when I see these cousin young men together I hard back to the golden years of their redoubtable grandfather. What a fulfilling moments for me as a rasika.
I love the layavinyasom by the young Aanantha that would have made his grandpa Padmashri Palghat Raghu saar all the more proud. Narayanakurup Kanthi Kumar in River Islands Calif
Abhishek and team have gone a great job in many areas. But what is this practice of singing sangathis of a such a composition only once? Maybe audio time schedule cd driven. Hence no neravals etc.
Every musician on stage is at their sublime best! I have probably listened to this a few hundred times already!
