*Ethan invites you in and sets the mood with some smooth elevator music* Ethan: "Hey, there. You wanna see my 60s Fantastic Four collection? I'll show you my big rocky thing."
You did a good job on this. One of the hardest characters to draw. So many artist do it wrong by giving him to much human anatomy. He is a grotesque rock monster.
The Thing was one of the first characters I taught myself how to draw. I still have a comic box from the early 80's that I drew him on when I was, oh, 10 or so. I keep my old FF's in it of course, Thanks for this video.
What a fun video! It's so awesome to see that you still have fun with art and it can still be fresh to someone who's been doing it for years. I was blessed enough to get to draw full-time for 2 years and even in that short time there was so many days that I just didn't want to do it. And many more where it's just the best thing in the world and the day would fly by. Thank you for these videos and your love for the fans AND these great characters that we all love so much. And thanks for having fun while you do it. This was a perfect way to wake up. Just sipping coffee while watching and listening to this has been a great way to start the day. I think I'll go doodle a Ben Grimm of my own now.
This is awesome -- thank you for doing videos in a friendly manner that I can share with my 11-year-old comic lover (who is a little embarrassed by his own drawing ability but wants to improve). Consider knocking these drawings out and putting them for sale on ebay. You could even donate a portion of the proceeds to a worthy charity.
anybody else have the urge to just peel those rocks off of ben grimm? everytime i see him in any comic i just wanna take them off ya know just to see what happens .
Ethan, If DC and Marvel worked out a deal for there to be Green Lantern/Fantastic Four crossover written by Geoff Johns, how hard would you fight to be the artist on that project?
Could you talk in a video about learning to draw in proportion sometime soon? Maybe in a video doing one of my favorites (which would be Ollie Queen who I named my newest cat after or the SuperSons because Superboy rules)
"Happy little eyes." Channeling your inner Bob Ross for this video? haha. While Kirby's version is the most iconic, I think my favorite version was done by Barry Windsor Smith. He was able to merge the stone and the humanity perfectly.
Are you, like, the Bob Ross of comics? XD Bob Ross: "Let's put a happy little tree over there." You: "Let's draw a happy little circular eye in there."
Hi Ethan, you and D&C got me back into drawing and writing my own book after some tough times. Best way to describe your content for me is enlightning informed and dignified, will punt some Patreon your way when I'm able ... Enough ass kissing, take care mate ... : )
It's funny after you mention the expectations of appearance and mention Bugs Bunny as an example I just started thinking I would like to see your take on more cartoony characters like Bugs.
Loved the video. Your explanation was good; the tips handy. (Why has no one pinned out that the mouth is a squashed m before?) Do more of these. They are enjoyable.
I've been doing some of these drawings with my kids! Uncle Ethan is the absolute best! I can't believe how well it turned out! Please do more stuff like this, I plan to use it for some of the art class assignments as we home school. lol
Hey can you do a video on drawing eyelashes and eyebrows? I was trying to draw wonder woman but couldnt get her eyes to look right because of the eyelashes Thank You.
Seems like I should, yes! Hey, go check out my video where Keith Giffen and Kevin Maguire do commentary for Justice League #18! They discuss the idea behind G’nort!
BTW, in case I still have your attention, a "day in the life/wake-up to bed-time" video would be GREAT! Although I understand the difficulty. Maybe on a day where the page you're working on is more simple than most?
Yup. Definitely clobberin' time. Any time the ever-lovin', blue eyed idol a millions and Aunt Petunia's favorite nephew shows up, it's clobberin' time.

Ethan: "Hey, there. You wanna see my 60s Fantastic Four collection? I'll show you my big rocky thing."
Oh boy, that escalated quickly.
Whatver you or I may think of him as a person, that's a beautiful Thing.
I have heard he is a really down to earth and good guy to his fans also a good sketcher
You did a good job on this. One of the hardest characters to draw. So many artist do it wrong by giving him to much human anatomy. He is a grotesque rock monster.
EVS doing his best Bob Ross...awesome
Gotta love that intro. Great tutorial too! The only thing that could make this any better is a happy little tree.
You know you could hide a squirrel in his shadows...

My lumpy misshapen body makes me very sympathetic to the Thing's plight.
EVS is the bob ross of youtube. Great Video. My 2nd fav. of the type of videos you do after the comics pros interviews. Those have been brilliant.
Thanks for making this video!
You break these down so well, your videos have made me dust off the Ole sketch pad, thank you

Love the easy listening music in the intro. Works so well with your voice.
EVS ... love the opening, taking lemon making lemonade ...
So I was watching this with headphones and the explosion sound scared the crap out of me! Haha
Can you do one on Rorschach
"Happy little accidents" I was waiting for you to say exactly that, and you did not disappoint.
Just done this 😀. I turn 40 this year thanks for getting me back into drawing ✍️
Loving your work Uncle Ethan! Glad to see someone so in love with comics and still so dedicated to their work!
Love this series.
IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME! I love it! Nice piece of art.
Yo. Honestly the most soothing video ever thanks man.
Need to do the Thing when he was all Spike Rock Thing. That was my first comic book as a kid and so he’s always been my favorite version.
This is one I've been waiting for. Always loved Ben Grimm!
The Joy of Drawing lol

Bob Ross of comic artist.
I know, it is flipping great!
Hey could you make a video on how to draw and shade mucle definition, because when I try to draw muscle it looks like a jigsaw puzzle
Are you, like, the Bob Ross of comics? XD
Bob Ross: "Let's put a happy little tree over there."
You: "Let's draw a happy little circular eye in there."

Great work. Love the thing. Cant wait for your sketch of Krypto ;)
EVS on a F4 book would be amazing
Loved the video. Your explanation was good; the tips handy. (Why has no one pinned out that the mouth is a squashed m before?)
Do more of these. They are enjoyable.
Love the opening, very Bob Ross-ish.
Almost signed mine "After E.V.S., after Kirby, after Bob Ross". s267.photobucket.com/user/Randylbishop/media/IMG_1265_zpsyvzoyzan.jpg.html
Awesome as always.... Time for marvel to send you and grant Morrison a blank check to make fantastic four great....again!
Möykky!
Can you do Orion next time? or maybe Big Barda.
I spent most of junior high math classes drawing Ben Grimm.
I've been doing some of these drawings with my kids! Uncle Ethan is the absolute best! I can't believe how well it turned out! Please do more stuff like this, I plan to use it for some of the art class assignments as we home school. lol
Fantasy dream team: Fantastic Four written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Ethan!
Hey can you do a video on drawing eyelashes and eyebrows? I was trying to draw wonder woman but couldnt get her eyes to look right because of the eyelashes
Thank You.
Okay, I’ll post it in a minute.
I agree 100 % Ben Grimm is the best :)
Ben is so Grimm!
Has he ever mentioned what lead softness he uses?
Good question
This'll seem like an odd request, but any chance of drawing G'nort? He's been one of my favourite alien GL for years now.
Seems like I should, yes! Hey, go check out my video where Keith Giffen and Kevin Maguire do commentary for Justice League #18! They discuss the idea behind G’nort!
I didn't even realise you did an interview with Keith! Definitely giving it a watch right now. Thanks for the reply!
"Shhteedler"
It's German!
Love the content, Ethan. Made me add your books to my pull-list
That’s great!! Thank you!
BTW, in case I still have your attention, a "day in the life/wake-up to bed-time" video would be GREAT! Although I understand the difficulty. Maybe on a day where the page you're working on is more simple than most?

My friends and I have started taking bets on this videos. I must say, if you don't show us how to draw Pennywise soon I'm going to need a second job.
So IT comes out on dvd on 12/19. Maybe I’ll do a video drawing the clown in that date?
ComicArtistPro Secrets sounds perfect
This video was so helpful!! Thanks, Ethan!!
Is it clobberin time again already? Guess it is.
Yup. Definitely clobberin' time. Any time the ever-lovin', blue eyed idol a millions and Aunt Petunia's favorite nephew shows up, it's clobberin' time.

I made Ben Grimm once. With the Rock. Playing Rock music. At hard Rock Cafe. instagram.com/p/BLREo4BBuF8/
Great porn music, Uncle Ethan.
