Theft nightmare assessors cause more damage to our motorhome, exposed

Time to name and shame the insurance assessors who caused more damage to your motorhome and stole items from the van, not to mention lies, scams and utter disregard for property in their care.

Yep I know I did threaten them with that, but hey the police would not have done anything

Sounds about right for Copart...did they do any damage underneath with their forklift?

OMG I hope not, I would have thought it impossible to get a fork lift under a Bailey 79 4i due to the low profile, there are skirts all the way around which are lower than the chassis 😮

I suggest discussing this with the insurance ombudsman as it seems they aren't performing their role correctly.

Why did the vehicle go to co-part ?did you accept the insurance offer of a payout ? If not your van should have gone into storage at a recovery company. Co-part is a company that auctions off crashed, stolen or damaged vehicles on behalf of the insurance companies once they have agreed with the owner. If you where having the vehicle back it should have never have gone there. Co-part do not store vehicles. They auction them.

My insurance company use co part as their insurance assessors, I was told that's how it works. So van was picked up from the recovery yard by co part, to be assessed. They used the term full loss quite a bit, I knew she wouldn't be. They also struggled to get their heads round it was a motorhome, not a Peugeot Boxer !
After they said yes its repairable, they also asked if I wanted to sell it lol
