Prather. Look how he gets his pointer finger straight down while completely behind the ball! Can’t get any more inside the ball than that. He’s so smooth but can hit 450 with it all day. A stroker with cranker revs!
you must, just realease without any more force (physics rule) and let it as gravity does it at the end and you will see that magic spinning is born ! thanks for Athletic Bowling for this masterpiece videoclip
This is definitely more like it, now I would say to leave the rest of the shot in like right when the ball crosses the arrows speed up the clip or just a little bit slower than "original" speed so we can watch the ball motion too
i have a question , can you throw the bowling ball further in air so it lands few feet ahead in the bowling alley? A friend of mine has been doing this and I don't know if its legal.
Yes you can loft it a few feet further. Some do it to allow the ball not to hook (turn) , as it's in the air there's no chance of it turning . Only starts turning once it's hits the lane.
I think your problem might be that your thumb hole is too tight. Also, make sure your ball fits well so you can relax your hand. I used to have this problem too but I started using tape for fine adjustments and it works like a charm.
After watching, I’ve decided they should change to Revs per Second vs Revs per minute. The shot only take a couple seconds, and from what I see about 7.5 revs per second
I'm a fairly new bowler so I don't completely know the ins and outs of bowling. There's two things I'm noticing and was wondering if someone could answer these questions. A lot of these pros aren't getting behind the ball on their throw. Is this acceptable? I been researching a lot and what I've gathered is that your hand should be on the inside of the ball and then you turn out (behind left and the rotate out right). Another position that I have a question about and it's similar to the last one is some of them are releasing from the top of the ball. If the pros are doing well with these positions, why is teaching the other positions so emphasized. Plus, getting my hand behind the ball is putting a lot of strain on my wrist and forearm. Thanks in advance
Pay attention to where their hand is as the ball passes their hips, when they‘re finishing their slide. That’s the essential behind and inside position. Eventually the ball lands on the lane and they get around it to impart rotation. They can’t stay inside and behind the ball forever!
@@ThomasBui02721 That’s François Lavoie, a low rev player. Doesn’t create a lot of leverage for power using his hand but he uses his legs. Follows through, nice smooth ball roll, insanely accurate.
So the key about staying behind the ball with the hand before and at the release is that it allows bowlers for a small margin of error. Also, keep in mind that you don't necessarily want to go around the ball all the time because of the lane conditions, pattern, and ball you are using. Let me put it this way, Kris Prather doesn't have a nice release in the sense that he doesn't go around the ball. Instead, he is more back and up in an angle. That's WHY he trips the 4 pin so many times and that's why he can find something good when other pros are struggling in the same lane. The goal is to learn how to create different ball reactions with your hand position before and after the release and master each one of those combinations. You don't see the "same" bowlers winning titles very often because of how good the go around the ball, rather because of how versatile they are with their game. Got it my friend? 💪🏼
That's one of the "subtle" adjustments for when you need the ball to get down the lane just a touch longer but maintain the same shape and roll without having to move your feet. Tuck pinky, extend pinky, narrow or widen where the index finger is, adjust which finger the ball rests on to determine how "inside" you are and how much you get up the back or around it.
Everyone is releasing the ball within 3 to 6 inches of their sliding foot. I need to watch some videos of my bowling as I think I'm no where close to this. Lol
Who has your favorite release at the PBA? Let me know in the comments!
Hard to argue against Prather’s, it’s so fundamentally beautiful. But I would definitely love to have BJ’s shot.

PDW's, the GOAT
Svensen & Belmo , because I am two handed bowler 😌
You know you love bowling when you can see the release and already know the bowler
Exactly 😂
I liked that you showed a variety of styles. Even among the best, they do it a bit differently.
.....and of course it's not hard to tell which one's Troup lol.
Yes he’s the only one who wears a full suit
I watch Soo much PBA that I could literally tell who was who just by their pants, shoes, or hand...and I'm proud of myself lol
My favorite was francois lavoie’s release
Thanks for this, helped me realize I'm still releasing the ball wrong 😩
It's ok. There isn't a "perfect" release and you will get anywhere you want to with practice. You've got this ✌🏼
Let’s bowl together someday!!! I too need to perfect my ball release 🤣😂🤣😂

Perfect view-thank you!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching and sharing the video :)
Sound track is as tight as those releases.
Great shots,
Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
I would have liked to see the full shot. I'm trying to learn. But great video none the less
Check out our other videos in the channel. We have ALL the full shots in normal speed and super slow mo for you ✌🏼
Lovely slow motion releases there!
Great video, been at this about a month now, this is not easy but I know I will get better, gotta be patient
can we get a song playlist ???? these music is awesome.
Damn they're hella close to hitting their own plant leg.. Crazy precision.

4:22 inside ball example for myself
I used to carry a 218 avg.the ball I drilled correctly, the fingers lift the ball,I hit my mark and correct speed, the ball does the rest

How do you get the ball so close to your ankle? Mine is like a ball's length away!
Practice a release drill :)
Check out my video on "How To Hook The Bowling Ball" I have a drill you can practice and I explain it all in there
@@AthleticBowling Will do thanks!
What song is playing in the background?
Can someone tell me the name of the second song? I really wanna know
Anyone have any tips on how to really the ball lower i been bowling for a few years now and while I'm getting better I still loft the ball on the lane
There are many ways about it. Can you send me a video to media@athleticbowling.com and I can review some tips for you 😊
@@AthleticBowling i will make it tomorrow and send it to you Thanks
@@allenthomas914 cool. Make sure to record directly from behind at like 4 feet high at least

Surprised how many tucked their pinky finger. They don't normally announce it when they are teaching others to bowl.
