I think having a choreographed saber contest would be a lot better than a real fight simply because it would be more entertaining for the crowd. A real fight with sabers would be more like a super boring fencing match or people just getting bludgeoned with the things until somebody stops it.

Hold the tourney in Anaheim during Disneyland's Star Wars Nights. April until May 4th. There are many hotel ballrooms where you can have the event or have it at the convention center. Celebration was held there in 2022. The Anahiem tourist office might help you. Plus, there is a lot to do in Southern California. Beautiful beaches, Los Angeles, Malibu, other theme parks, San Deigo, you can even go down to Mexico. So Cal is your destination. Plus, a lot of Star Wars celebrities live in Los Angeles. And fighters from Latin America, Asia, and Australia might be more motivated to attend if it's a little closer for them.
Disney should just hand him the keys at this point. Pay him 10% and don't give him any notes or shit whatsoever.

You should add an event where teams of two show off their own choreographed duels. I guarantee it’d be the most popular event and with Nick Gillard as a judge? I mean cmon! It’d also probably be the most entertaining event, as fencing can be interesting but it’s definitely not as intricate.

I hope you put thoughts towards potential security situations. A lot of large group gatherings can open up to scary stuff
Theory, you truly have the heart of a Star Wars fan. This reminds me of the clips from the premiere of the Phantom Menace where people were dueling in the movie theater. Keep up the good work my friend!
If this goes over well (as it seems it should), it might be worthwhile for the kata division to have "official" Forms/Styles with actual kata behind them to develop the basics. For each "school" behind the forms, you can recognize the fighters and performers.
Only one suggestion, rules-wise:
Confirmation Defense. If you land a point/killing strike, you must not receive a counter point/killing strike for (maybe 3 seconds) afterward, otherwise the point/killing strike is nullified. This prevents people from using kamakaze assaults to land a hit, regardless of whether they will be hit back right away. I see this alot in dueling, and it irks me. If you land a hit on an opponents torso, and they land a hit on your chest immediately after, then how did you win? You both would die. A suicide attack is not a mark of skill. Only landing the hit, and then preventing the opponent (who would be desperate to hit back, no longer having anything to lose) from hitting you back immediately afterwards, is a true mark of skill.

Can you please implement a mandatory hygiene and deodorant rule? Especially since it's going to be a physical event. Trust me, you don't want to be put in the same category of events that cater to smelly people. I've seen people who've paid a couple $100 for an event leave just because of the smell

Maybe you could collaborate with SoCal
SoCal is an annual event in California for swords. There's longsword fencing and cutting competitions, and several sword manufacturers. There's already fencing coaches/judges and spaces for competitions like this all gathered together. Maybe you can rent some space there or something.
This actually has a pretty big opportunity to get to levels influencer boxing saw at one stage ... huge saber arena dueling competition .... now that sounds epic!

Like if I'd send a design, couple drawings, would you consider turning it into a real saber? Got a few from WAAAY back in technical secondary school, like more than 12 years ago, I whipped up during or after classes. There are probably thousands of guys like me tho. Could make a contest on and do polls to determine 10 or 20 best and most viable designs. Also I think I'll Superchat that during some of your streams, cause there's no guarantee you'll see this comment. Anyways, STOKED for the saber choreography contest by Theory!
Might I suggest , if you see this, somewhere in San Antonio, TX, it is more certrally located and you can, I am sure, find a place around the downtown river walk, which is a very awesome place to visit. It might also be cheaper to reserve a place.

There are airsoft variants that are NOT really called star wars weapons, but there are very few versions. Who knows perhaps a Theory SW airsoft tournament where there can be team death matches, seeing what people design and come up with to pair with said airsoft parts to the weapons, maybe even speed shooting and timed attacks. Still, not many touch the area sadly of Star Wars blasters or such like ones for airsoft. Maybe he could be the first.

Exciting news! I recommend having a few choreographed duels and some 2 v 2 competitive dueling matches.
Will the duelists will be allowed/required to wear protective gear for like hand/arms, body, head, and legs? Speaking from experience, hardcore duels can and will get pretty intense and I’d hate to see you get sued because someone broke a rib or a finger or something in a duel.

I’d like to start a yearly event at my church called Theory Academy. Something like Jedi Training Academy held each year. Robes, Sabers and a choreographed experience.

So many comments about Ashley Eckstein, Sam Witwer or Hayden Christensen 🤦 They are Star Wars actors and they work for Disney and want to continue working for them. Hayden will probably be in the second season of Ahsoka, has a contract with Disney and could get into trouble, especially since Theory criticizes Disney all the time and his opinions are sometimes...controversial. Leave Hayden out of this please, he just returned to Star Wars. Theory should invite some other UA-camrs, his friends, but not professional actors who work with the company Theory criticizes

They think that Hayden or Ewan, professional Hollywood actors, will come to this event and nothing will happen, that Disney will be cool with it. Hayden just returned to Star Wars and because of that he is getting so much love because Disney brought him back and they promote him all the time, they invite him to these Star Wars events and you can see that Hayden is happy. I'm sure that Disney wants to work with Hayden more, they might get pissed if Hayden attended Theory's lightsaber event. Hayden doesn't need that and the truth is that Theory has become toxic and controversial

I’d be careful with this first event. A few things I find concerning.
1. Free to enter but purchase of HIS saber necessary.
2. The sabers on his website are not manufactured by him, but by the commonly sold ones mass produced by companies like TXQ and LGT, that are sold through multiple resellers. His sabers are nothing unique that you couldn’t get from someone else.
Let’s see how this first event goes before getting involved. Wouldn’t want to be duped in a similar manner to the Andrew Schultz scam.
Maybe you should put this money toward Vader episode 2 bro. We are never getting that film, whenever it is brought up his eyes and body convey deceit.

@Sellsword Arts should totally either participate in the competition or as a judge. He is an expert swordsmen and sword fighting educator/teacher as well as a lover of Star Wars and lightsabers, has made some amazinf lightsaber fights, and is just an all around awesome dude.

This is so cool. I think you should def have paid tickets for spectators, somewhere in a $15-30 range. You probably thought of this already but having a rehearsal day would be great. Once you know who’s participating invite them to the venue so they know the layout, rules, where they should enter/exit, and other logistical stuff. Would u also consider live-streaming the event?

Is it full on battle? Or coreographed? Suggestion: Make a points system that makes sense. Make like your own saber game not just brutal beating with no rules.

Hey theory I’ve been following your channel since 2016 and just want to congratulate you on the success of your saber company! I have a few ideas for your tournament next year and who could judge the competitors. If you could somehow get ray park (Darth Maul) to be a judge that would be crazy. Another one but kind of a stretch would be Hayden Christensen. I know that you had recently met and gotten to know him so I don’t know if you have a personal connection with him but it would be sick if he was included. As for the overall winner of the dueling tournament…what if you casted him as a rogue Jedi in a future project of yours? Thanks for your time theory and keep doing what you do!
