Great information Steve and Matt. The wisest words are stated at 0:53 "A slot machine is just a computer and it's programmed to pay out less money than it takes in". Yeah, I've played them a LOT, and had plenty of great wins (over $11,000 once on Dragon Link) but I'm not playing them any more! Having said that, it can be tons of fun, as long as you limit your bankroll to something that you don't mind throwing away.
I use to believe Slots were all rigged but after long training and learning the Slots I have learned some machines are not even owned or maintained by the casino many are run by the State some are also multi State machines these can give better pay outs.

And I have seen a Slot pay the Top prize or Jackpot immediately after a Jack-pot "Hand-Pay" on the very next spin. Meaning the "attendant" hands you the money and asks you to spin it off. (They don't want you leaving the "WIN" on the machine and leaving. Because a new player might not want to play a machine that just paid off!. (BTW - A smart move by the Casino)
My husband and I go to the casinos in Atlantic City which is once a year. We go their mainly for fun and we always have a budget of $50-$100 each, we like to carry singles and $5 bills. We always look for the lowest bet on a slot machine so that we can play longer and hopefully win. I remember my husband's first time at a casino which was also my first time in AC. Take whatever you want in cash and play slow, e.g. count to 30 before you press the play button each time. My wife started me four years ago playing slots. She would win quite often. I would always lose. I started meditating and learned about manifesting. went to a Montreal casino recently and had $113 in free play. I took $500 in U.S. dollars and had $265 in Canadian money. I was there for 5.5 hours and never had to play any of my U.S. dollars and ended up taking home $517 in Canadian (so, I was up $252, albeit Canadian currency). Had so much fun because I played responsibly and took my time. Another tip not covered here.... wash your hands often. The buttons on the slot machines are loaded with germs, spilled drinks, etc. Or keep some hand sanitizer on hand.

I, as a gambler, never understood why gambling somehow became like the only game that you are supposed to lose even before you begin playing. In all games or competitions both parties should have an equal chance to win or lose. I believe one tip was left out. I believe it matters what day of the week or what time of the day you play the machines. I frequent a casino regularly enough to have figured out that playing my favorite machines on a Friday or Saturday night is a waste of time compared to playing the same machine on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

No slot machine will pay out for example 70% of the winnings. And it definitely does matter what happened before you played. For example if slot machine got a lot of money in before you started playing and didn't pay out it should pay out you.
It does not matter what happened on a slot machine before you played it. Each spin is an independent event and the odds of getting a winning or losing combination remain the same each time you play. The only exception would be "must hit by" slots, where the closer the jackpot is to the must hit by amount, the better your chances of winning that jackpot.
I sat beside a woman and she was really spinning that machine! Later on when she spun the last coins she dropped her head & started crying. I asked her if she would be ok and she said " I just spent my rent money trying to double it and I have no way to replace it." #1 rule don't use bill money for gaming! Another time a woman lost her money and she started hitting the machine and broke the glass! It took 5 seconds for security to get there & they told her she would have to pay for the repair. I've seen all kinds of issues like these two but I feel like these were the worst. Gaming is for fun and distribution of wealth from your hand to theirs.(ha ha)

Tip 5: Don't be greedy in a winning situation. This one day I got around $1900 from mostly bonus rounds on a digital casino website starting with $50. I played for 5 hours straight and kept changing my bets after going down or up whatever. At some point I went up to $2400 but after coming back down to $1900 I thought I shouldn't be greedy and get off of it. If I did not do that I'm sure at some point I would have gone back to $0.

Paid all in cash at the machine agains the establishments recommended advice of doing it in private due to our safety. Got paid and left with no issues.
I know a slot Technician. He works at a casino just out of Chicago. He told me that when the technicians start there shift. They get a card just like a players card. It is at random on who's card can set the Machine to win. I seen a technician put his card in put his numbers in and take his card out and walk away. I played that machine and in 3 spin's I won $800. You have to catch them doing this. If you see them do this Try that machine and see what happens.

Thanks, your tips are helping to have more fun and have a little better sense gageing money and the bets. Many have benifited in using the win-loss letters tracking any taxes owed, and getting nice compts. I advise t letting the Casino subtract the taxes in the hand pays. No matter what ends up on April 15th it's a blessing to not owe, and another blessing to have tax credits! Just a helpful tip.
My strategy is getting rope and tying it to machine and car, then I drive the machine home and sometimes I win, other times I just got a ticket for 5000 bucks with no way of cashing out the ticket.. got to figure that part out
mine is this i put in a 5. play pennies, one coin per line, no more. if the amount gove over 5, cash out. do it with $50. at teh end count how many tickets went over 5. say it is 6. then yo cash out, take $30 6x5 = 30. and what is left over put in your pocket. say those first ten tickets added up to $40.05. thatis $10.05 in pocket. Nowtake the 6 fives and do it agian. now take the 6 tickets, add them up, ok now only 3 wentover 5. But you hit bonus and got $30 out of it. now cash in the tickets and take $15 3x5= 15. rest in your pocket. say the total was $36.09. that is $21.09 in pocket. Now do the 15. 3 fives. Now say only one goes over 5 but it is a bonus game and gives you $20. you put $15 in pocket. now you have only one 5 to play with. say it does terrible and you get a few pennies. now count in your pocket. 10 + 21 + 15 = 46, ya lost only $4 and really not that much becasue you put change in your pocket. and you built up a lot of points. now go home. THAt is how i play, i often come out ahead or if i lose it is not much. and move around, do not play the same machine if you hit a bonus, leave. it probably wont agian, though one time for me it did, i hit a bonus and i played itagian, and BAM i hit for $250. I left then.

Went to a slot machine in South Dakota and bet the max and won on the 8 free spins. Only won 45.00. I won that much putting in .25 . They just don't want to pay out. They keep your money.
The players club card does allow the casino to track winnings and the casino must report large jackpots to the IRS. I worked at a casino and we had to get info for the book, this book was for the IRS, anything over 600$ in winnings had to be logged in this book. The players club card was a useful piece of info to track players.

I have stopped going to the local casino because the payout percentage is so low and I was that miserable person losing very quickly week after week. They have chased away most of their customers because it stopped being fun. I now drive about twice as far to St Louis casinos that I can play a while and enjoy myself. I've had a good winning percentage for years on slots. First I make sure I budget. Second I like to jump from slot to slot especially if there was a person on it for hours an haven't won much. Third I take my time and when I lose start losing often after a number of tries I move on. So far I have won more than I've lost.

That math is a little exaggerated :). Most states are mandatory for automatically deducting state taxes and federal is optional. You should never withhold federal as large majority of slot players have net losses every year. That will reduce the gambling winnings tax to zero.

One of your tips said to get enough to hit a bonus. On some games it's better to get less lines than max and higher per line. Stinkin' Rich and Bombay max out at 77 lines, after that you just get more spins. I usually play 16 lines because you only miss out on some of the bonuses, but I bet more per lines. Great information Steve and Matt. The wisest words are stated at 0:53 "A slot machine is just a computer and it's programmed to pay out less money than it takes in". Yeah, I've played them a LOT, and had plenty of great wins (over $11,000 once on Dragon Link) but I'm not playing them any more! went to a Montreal casino recently and had $113 in free play. I took $500 in U.S. dollars and had $265 in Canadian money. I was there for 5.5 hours and never had to play any of my U.S. dollars and ended up taking home $517 in Canadian (so, I was up $252, albeit Canadian currency). Had so much fun because I played responsibly and took my time. Another tip not covered here.... wash your hands often. The buttons on the slot machines are loaded with germs, spilled drinks, etc. Or keep some hand sanitizer on hand.

I believe one tip was left out. I believe it matters what day of the week or what time of the day you play the machines. I frequent a casino regularly enough to have figured out that playing my favorite machines on a Friday or Saturday night is a waste of time compared to playing the same machine on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

No slot machine will pay out for example 70% of the winnings. And it definitely does matter what happened before you played. For example if slot machine got a lot of money in before you started playing and didn't pay out it should pay out you.
It does not matter what happened on a slot machine before you played it. Each spin is an independent event and the odds of getting a winning or losing combination remain the same each time you play. The only exception would be "must hit by" slots, where the closer the jackpot is to the must hit by amount, the better your chances of winning that jackpot.
I sat beside a woman and she was really spinning that machine! Later on when she spun the last coins she dropped her head & started crying. I asked her if she would be ok and she said " I just spent my rent money trying to double it and I have no way to replace it." #1 rule don't use bill money for gaming! Tip 5: Don't be greedy in a winning situation.
This one day I got around $1900 from mostly bonus rounds on a digital casino website starting with $50.
I played for 5 hours straight and kept changing my bets after going down or up whatever. At some point I went up to $2400 but after coming back down to $1900 I thought I shouldn't be greedy and get off of it.
If I did not do that I'm sure at some point I would have gone back to $0.

I really enjoyed your video. One of the points that I found that has helped me a lot is I go with a friend and I will stick to my budget and if I'm up a little bit and want to go home with money then I'll sit and watch him play and root him on and have fun.

Thanks, your tips are helping to have more fun and have a little better sense gageing money and the bets. Many have benifited in using the win-loss letters tracking any taxes owed, and getting nice compts. I advise t letting the Casino subtract the taxes in the hand pays. No matter what ends up on April 15th it's a blessing to not owe, and another blessing to have tax credits! Just a helpful tip.

My strategy is getting rope and tying it to machine and car, then I drive the machine home and sometimes I win, other times I just got a ticket for 5000 bucks with no way of cashing out the ticket.. got to figure that part out
mine is this i put in a 5. play pennies, one coin per line, no more. if the amount gove over 5, cash out. do it with $50. at teh end count how many tickets went over 5. say it is 6. then yo cash out, take $30 6x5 = 30. and what is left over put in your pocket. say those first ten tickets added up to $40.05. thatis $10.05 in pocket. Nowtake the 6 fives and do it agian. now take the 6 tickets, add them up, ok now only 3 wentover 5. But you hit bonus and got $30 out of it. now cash in the tickets and take $15 3x5= 15. rest in your pocket. say the total was $36.09. that is $21.09 in pocket. Now do the 15. 3 fives. Now say only one goes over 5 but it is a bonus game and gives you $20. you put $15 in pocket. now you have only one 5 to play with. say it does terrible and you get a few pennies. now count in your pocket. 10 + 21 + 15 = 46, ya lost only $4 and really not that much becasue you put change in your pocket. and you built up a lot of points. now go home. THAt is how i play, i often come out ahead or if i lose it is not much. and move around, do not play the same machine if you hit a bonus, leave. it probably wont agian, though one time for me it did, i hit a bonus and i played itagian, and BAM i hit for $250. I left then.

Went to a slot machine in South Dakota and bet the max and won on the 8 free spins. Only won 45.00. I won that much putting in .25 . They just don't want to pay out. They keep your money.

The players club card does allow the casino to track winnings and the casino must report large jackpots to the IRS. I worked at a casino and we had to get info for the book, this book was for the IRS, anything over 600$ in winnings had to be logged in this book. The players club card was a useful piece of info to track players.

I have stopped going to the local casino because the payout percentage is so low and I was that miserable person losing very quickly week after week. Couple things i do that work..
Stay away from flashy new machines. Lots of lights/sounds lots but with low payouts
Go after they stop serving booze..less people and you can get the machine you want
Check non played machines...if all have minimum bet and no PAID, stay away
See how many are at the ATMs. Busy there usually means hungry slots
And...seems end/beginning of year seems to have better luck then middle of summer
And a Question. I am in Washington state and i guess our machines are something calles video scratch ticket based, or something like that. Have you guys done any videos on different styles of gaming besides the RNG types?

I film all my game-play for my channel and I’ll do 10 spins per machine ..like a game of ”how many machines till I hit a bonus?”..and no more than $1.00 bet usually and it slows my playing down considerably and I usually win or break-even at the end-of-the day lol
Is it true that the game changes when the bet amount changes, so if you got jackpot on a 50 cent bet you shouldn't kick yourself because a max bet would not necessarily result in jackpot?

If there are a billion RNGs, the machine can only cycle through one at a time, I never understood how the number is chosen when the button is pushed??

I think one tip that is somewhat obvious is to play until you hit a decent sized winner and then( after one more spin) , move on to another machine.
What book should I buy to learn about slot machines
I've had a good winning percentage for years on slots. First I make sure I budget. Second I like to jump from slot to slot especially if there was a person on it for hours an haven't won much. Third I take my time and when I lose start losing often after a number of tries I move on. So far I have won more than I've lost.

I found a machine at Harrah’s in Maricopa, AZ years ago. It was tucked in a corner and rarely played. Machine number was 5055. My favorite machine. I used to pull $500 plus ever time I played it. you left out the biggest thing: you are actually better off hitting for 1000 dollars than 1200. then the taxes kick in!! and then that 1200 will be more like 850! believe me, i know.
That math is a little exaggerated :). Most states are mandatory for automatically deducting state taxes and federal is optional. You should never withhold federal as large majority of slot players have net losses every year. That will reduce the gambling winnings tax to zero.

One of your tips said to get enough to hit a bonus. On some games it's better to get less lines than max and higher per line. Stinkin' Rich and Bombay max out at 77 lines, after that you just get more spins. I usually play 16 lines because you only miss out on some of the bonuses, but I bet more per lines. I've hit 2 signers in a few minutes in a 25 cent machine playing 9 lines x 3

That is not a bad habit. That is how I play. Bar slots and casino slots are different. Stopping the reels when ever you decide works great with bar slots as in the bar/lounge.
