Cracker Lake, A Horseback Ride in Glacier National Park, Montana

The last ride of our 2023 Glacier National Park horseback adventure. The Cracker Lake Trail should be at the top of your list when visiting Glacier National Park. When we arrived at Glacier on the third week of July, we had all but given up hope of riding to Cracker Lake as the trail had been closed most of the summer due to grizzly bear activity. The National Park Service deemed the trail safe to open two days prior to our time to return home in Colorado. This is one of the most beautiful rides we've experienced and it was a blessing to share it with our good friends Mike and Susie Drougas. The ride was exactly 13 miles in and out on the GPS, with a moderate elevation gain. At the end of this ride on August 2, we had completed 92 miles through the park since July 23. I understand the Highline Trail is off limits to horses. Do you know of any others are also off limits. I am enjoying your videos.

Most trails in Glacier are open to stock animals. The trail from Lake Josephine to Grinnell Glacier is closed to stock animals. Happy you're enjoying the videos.
