I just bought some similar to these but their the red casings instead of the smoked and i connected evergthing but the market connecter the very tiny one from the tailights doesn’t fit into my other connecter but all the others one do so it doesnt show any power
Does it LOOK like it should fit, though? If I remember correctly, mine was a pretty tight fit to push together because the aftermarket tail light connector was thick.
Just know that you’ll likely lose cruise control when switching to an LED tail light on this body type GM truck. I didn’t find out until I did the lights. I do have a fix for it that I made a video on, though.
I'm sure they're actually made in China and rebranded by several companies. If you go to Amazon and type in "2006 silverado tail lights, you'll see them pop up.
So I got the same ones u have but for some reason my reverse lights stay on they don’t turn off I’m just not a professional and I don’t wanna touch with wiring especially if I don’t know yk
@@ramiro3534 If you didn’t have that issues before switching to these lights, then I’m guessing you just have something plugged in wrong like the reverse light is actually the tail light.
these are good my only problem is that when i press the brake the passenger side brake light turns on but it’s much dimmer than the driver side so it looks bad
Thanks for showing all the light functions. How are they holding up after 6+ months? Wish I could find a set that the C shaped light bar is the turn signal. Think it would look sharp that way.
Yeah that would look cool. They are holding up well so far, only issue is I lost cruise control. Found out after the fact that it’s a common problem on these trucks when switching to LED tail and 3rd brake lights. Gotta wire a resistor into each light for the cruise, even though the lights don’t hyperflash. Other than that all good so far.
Double check you have the bulb installed correctly and in the right position. If issue persists, plug the old tail light back in so you know if it's a truck issue or an issue with the new lights.
No that’s really weird that they would work with the brake lights only work with the truck off. Are they stuck on even with the headlights switch turned off, or are you saying they ONLY work when the truck is off?
@@uliceshernandez7131 Double check fuse box under the hood and on the left end of the dash. I doubt it’s a fuse since the lights work with the ignition off but it’s worth a check. If you don’t find any issue there, then I’d pull your new lights out and see if maybe you have some wires crossed or something. If no obvious issues are found, plug old tail lights back in and see if issue persists. If the issue persists with old lights then you know it’s something on the truck side like possible ignition switch or body controller - whatever controls the brake lights.
@@outlaws6477 hmm. Well there’s a few possible causes I guess. Either there’s a short within the new tail light, or you have some wiring on the truck side that’s shorting out. I’d pop that 1 light back out and remove the bulb sockets to see if there’s and obviously pinched wires or anything, then follow the light harness into the truck bed and check around there too. If there’s no obvious issues, I’d pop the factory light back in and see if fuses are still blowing. If it stops, you know it’s the new light and not wiring.
@@yax_3132 Ah. The white [ ] are the tail lights. Should come on any time you have the headlight switch in the marker light or headlight position. Should also come on automatically at night if it's dark enough on the auto setting just like the stock lights. They don't come on during the day unless you manually turn your lights on.
@@ZavyurRew That is weird. Make sure all the connections are plugged into the correct sockets and that all the connections are tight. If it’s still an issue then I’d reinstall 1 of your old tail lights and see if it does the same thing. If it does, it’s an issue with the truck, not the lights.
If it worked before you changed the tail lights then you messed something up with either the reverse lights plugged in backwards or in terms of wiring. Otherwise I'd check fuses in the under hood fuse box and the fuse box on the end of the dash when you open the driver's door.
I’m not positive without personally inspecting, but it sounds like a short somewhere. Either the headlight switch internally bad, a bulb has a broken filament and touching another, or you have physical wires rubbed through on each other. There could be other causes, but this is my guess.
