About the GX460 , Call Icon to confirm> but its my understanding if you up the dampening on the shocks up front it should help with the heavy spring rebound. if its already maxed out you may want to consider upping the spring rate up front to compensate for the added weight of the front bumper, winch and lights.
Mom and dad, cherish the time with your darling daughter.. they grow up way to fast, trust me I know...love all you do ..I am living in your shoes and am loving all of it, be safe
So awesome to watch Carolyn (hope that I spelled her name right) grow and now watch her participate and learn what has to be done to keep our land open.
2 things. 1: Can’t wait for you to fix the suspension on Silver. Man, that squeak is annoying🙄 2: good to see “Sidekick” earning her keep😂😂😂 Keep the great vids coming. We all appreciate them👍
I love your videos. I have GX and I love what you did with yours. Your content is super and I don't understand why you don't have millions of subscribers. Good luck !
I was out there this year around July 10th. We camped on the Grand Mesa, and it was still like 90 degrees at 10,000 feet. Kind of ridiculous on the heat. I did some mountain biking. I also remember Grand Junction being like 105 or so when we left too. That was hotter than I like. I also ran into a bear cub while mountain biking up there too on FS 515.
Sorry you were sick buddy and yes that suspension squeaking has had me concerned for sometime great trail though with some awesome scenery. As always thank you sharing.
Hey guys. Love your channel. I would love to hear you guys do a comparison video between the 4runner and the GX as it relates to overlanding. You're in a unique position to be able to have a lot of experience with both and to compare side by side. What aspects of each do you prefer over the other, what factors do you think would sway someone's decision to buy one over the other, etc. It would be super helpful to people like me who are trying to decide between the two. :)
Happy belated birthday Kevin. Glad to see you enjoying your Jiffy Pop. I hope all of you are feeling much better. I realize you'll be upgrading Silver's suspension, but since Ms. Aspen is a little saggy in the front, would it make sense to swap in some beefier springs to compensate? Also, those mud terrains are quickly becoming the official tire of choice lol. Also when you all get back to New Mexico and settled in...the podcast needs to make a return, please please, please.
CONGRATULATIONS ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂! HOPE YOUR WISH COMES TRUE 👍 BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOY 😉! ENJOYED ! GORGEOUS VIDEO WEATHER FOOTAGE COLORS VIEWS SCENERY !
The GX has to be really good as the Prado is Here in Australia. They are popular for the comfort and capability. Our new model diesel has 150 kw and 500nm of torque which is plenty. That translates to 201 horse power and 367 ft/lb torque for American friends.
Your Lexus looks really bad ass. I'm just wondering , my 2022 is totally stock also does not come with crawl control, because it's the black line edition, so knowing what you do with your vehicle how much would a stock lexus GX 460 be able to tackle without all those mods?
Love following along on ur journeys. I understand having two vehicles in case one breaks For me I really liked ur travel to Alaska & the family together exploring. Having two vehicles seems to take away from that experience as a viewer. Just my two cents. I grew up in T-Ride. You giys should go over Imogene & back on Black Bear
AH Grand Mesa, have had some good times up there. You certainly need some maintenance on the 4 Runner with all the noises going on. Off roading requires a steady diet of parts.
I may have missed it but what year and trim is the GX? I just sold my beloved 2003 Montero and in March I'm moving to Colorado and looking to get into a new off road adventure SUV. I'm really digging the Lexus over some other brands for it's capability and reliability. I would Love Heated and Cool Seats for those warm days but other than that, Center Diff lock and KDSS seems a good start.
salut . ''13.25 '' I encounter the same problem in the summer when I dive into the sea, I find Chinese lanterns that have become terribly popular with children. if the steel wire corrodes in salt water, the paper is very unsightly and breaks into pieces if you want to pick it up.
Especially bread type products as these animals store their food for winter and bread goes moldy and contaminates their whole food supply and they starve to death.
Do you guys hang a bear bag in camp or leave your non-perishables in the vehicle? You may have addressed it before and I missed it. I am more acquainted with doing my wilderness exploring on foot.
@@LoredMarilius Yes, in my TRD. I will be looking for property to relocate from Cincinnati area to the Rockies! I removed the back seats, built a platform and I'm heading out! So, I guess you missed the question about DYRT App?
So I don’t know how long ago you were actually in grand Junction. But I live here in Grand Junction. And I’m really curious what road you’re on. The road up and over the grand Mesa is a paved road that goes up through mesa Colorado Powderhorn ski resort. I’m really curious where you found that dirt road. Where did you go in and where did you come out? And what lake was that?
Regarding the front hitting the ground, are you using standard springs or heavier duty springs? Is this normal behavior with a big front bumper or is something wrong in your setup?
How do you guys sleep peacefully at locations you've never been before? I've recently been having a really hard time / it's just me and my companion Reggie a husky/shepherd mix. I was out last night north of Beavers Bend (Hochatown) Ok. about 3 hrs. from home. I drove back trying to get to a bluff area overlooking the lake. The trail ended and there was a stone fire ring so I decided to camp there. It was completely quiet, very little wind. I tried to sleep in my Eno doublenest hammock/Marmot mummy bag, tying one end to my roof rack and the other to a tree. It was beautiful and had a great fire. Checked the weather and heavy rain was projected for 6AM and most of the day. I tried to sleep, but couldn't. I finally broke camp, tore down and hit the road at 11:30PM. I got home around 3AM. I've just found recently on several trips, I cant fall asleep and know I will be miserable and exhausted the next day. 3 times now, I've given up and just gone home. Maybe it's just an undersign of unrest in my life or something I don't know, but it sure is discouraging. It took a lot of effort to get way out there.
I know exactly where you were. Perhaps subconsciously you are worried about bigfoot? Lol. Hope you find peace, sure ruins a nice trip when you can't relax.
I'm at ~173,500 miles on the original shocks / struts. "Lucille" is kinda waiting to figure out what she suspension she wants to have when she grows up (lol).
I really love watching your adventures, but…..the music, oh my it’s so bad…but again let me say how awesome you all are! My daughter loves it too, she’s 9

Makes recovery easier, won't be stranded if a vehicle breaks, and it's easier to explore new trails without worrying about dragging a trailer down it and possibly having to turn around on the trail with said trailer.

Love there is no music during the trail section (15:00 to 19:00) - surprisingly very relaxing.

If i wasn't getting a pickup the GX would absolutely be the SUV i go for. Honestly, i never even noticed them till this channel. Good stuff.
One of my favorites I’ve seen lately, some good wheeling and views! But hey, I love all the videos!
You're supposed to share!!! BTW a good coating of mud quiets things down also.
Great episode...
Good luck you all....!!!
Waiting for next episode
Great wheeling in this one. Happy birthday!

Looking forward to Silvers suspension rebuild!

Another great video and happy birthday
when our trucks squeak a lot, I usually just spray wd-40 till it goes away haha. But a rebuilt is probs better!
White lithium spray on grease is way better. Give it a try! Less than $5 at Walmart, Autozone, etc...

Do you guys have any cooling issues with the reduced airflow from the large lights in front?
Also, how much louder are those BFG mud terrains on the GX vs. the KO2's?
What tire deflation tool is that?
