They say that to make themselves feel good. They are actually saying that about the movie industry too, on a different platform, a Ghanaian was saying Nigeria came to learn the film industry in Ghana, but NIgeria is now doing better than Ghana.

@@francisboateng2068 what talent does Ghana have? Maybe in crying, complaining, and begging. If you have talent, how come record labels or investors are not knocking down the door to get to your talents? It’s because they have surveyed your space, and have seen nothing. Nothing excites them, that’s why there are no in investors. Nobody wants to invest in crap.

The truth is that, no country both in Africa and outside Africa can get the kind of cloud the Nigerian musicians are getting when it comes to Afrobeats
Forget about all the Afrobeats documentary, recent statistics have shown that in Africa 6 out of 10 people believe Afrobeats is from Nigeria, and outside Africa 8 out of 10 people believe Afrobeats is from Nigeria 🇳🇬
And Nigerian artists have done well in maintaining the sound for many years, it's just of recent that some Ghanaians and other African artists are copying the Nigerian style the likes of Camido, Kelvin boy, Gyakie, Olive the boy, Libianca etc.

  • @hillcrestprofessionalservi3502

Everybody came to learn in Ghana. Unfortunately, that will continue to be the greatest claim to fame for Ghanaians.. Don Jazzy was a London-based before returning back home. I have done my research and there is nothing in which Ghana leads Africa. Contrary to what most Ghanaians think, the first independent country in Africa is Liberia, not Ghana. Liberia declared independence on July 26, 1847, which the U.S. did not recognize until February 5, 1862. Everything that Ghanaians believe is just false.

Delusional! As someone said, “Ghanaians believe they created the world, but God came to learn from them.” Everything came from Ghana. To go from Nigerian artists coming to steal from you, to now engineers and video directors, is the height of delusion.
I remember the late ‘98 to early 2000s when the music thing began to go really commercial. The likes of Plantashun Boiz were produced by Nelson Brown, Tuface by OJB Jezreel, then Paul Play worked on Tetuila. Tribes Men by Eldee D Don.
Then mid 2000s brought D Banj with Don Jazzy, 9ce and Olamide by ID Cabasa, Timaya and Asa with K-Solo. Master Kraft for Idris Abdulkareem and Flavor, So Sick for Dagrin. I don’t even know who produced for P Square.
The 2010s ushered in Wizkid by Samklef , Shizzi for Davido, Sarz and Pheelz for most of the current generation. Even Cobhams that doesn’t see? They all came to Ghana? Haba! Make una dey fear God.
Even Video Directors like DJ Tee and and Clarence came to Ghana? Abeg! These people need to wake up.
And they talk about population as if the whole two hundred million people listen to Afrobeats. No! They Northern Nigeria do not care much about Afrobeats, the Southwest still have Juju and Fuji, even Apala. While East does your genre - Highlife. So number doesn’t count that much. Because the population of Nigeria that streams music aren’t even as much as other African countries, the US and Europe. What is the population of Jamaica? But Reggae is well known. So again, wake up guys.

Yes English is part of the problem but the main problem is the lack of melody in most of Ghanaian songs, Asake sings most of his songs in Yoruba but you see the whites jaming to it and singing word for word, and you can agree with me that most of them don't even know the meaning of what they are singing
Nigerian music is about the vibe and melody
