Hello New Mexico! Thank you for your kind sentiments! Actually tomorrow is the day of the feast. Which is a good thing because the weather is rainy and cold here today but we have a beautiful forecast for tomorrow. About 100 volunteers are busy as bees in a tar bucket today prepping & cooking for tomorrow. ‘Always a Joy to here from you Lavablebird!
That's pretty incredible, kinda got choked up to hear how it got started and the yearly tradition now. Sure surprising to see all those fixins, especially hush puppies and chicken and dumplings. Girls don't hunt up there? Definitely for a worthy cause and some good eating and story telling for sure!

Thank you So Much Teri for chiming in! Yes! What a terrific thing it is all the children that benefit from the Hunters Feast! Frank that created this event, God Rest His Soul, passed away three years ago. Covid had put a squelch on this event. But this year it is back! Lots of girls in this are do hunt. However this event has always been a Men's only event. Old traditions die hard. Personally? I would like to see that change. At least for women that do hunt. Not so much for the ones that just want to show up to make a fashion statement. unless they are wearing Camo of course! LOL! Thanks for watching Teri & God Bless!

Hey Dixon! I am very late to this video! Very sorry! But this was absolutely amazing! That was just too much food for one day! I would have to start in the morning and stay until the end! I didn’t see one thing on this video that didn’t look incredible! and for such a great cause too. Amazing! Looks like a great turnout so I hope you all raised a ton of money!🤗🧡 Now….. I am starving! 🤣
Actually Alone I produced this video in 2015. Frank passed away in 2019, I think. COVID caused the event to be canceled from 2020 through 2021. Even 2022 made it impossible to get back on track. However 2023 couldn’t hold these dogs that put on this event at bay any longer. That is why I made a reboot. 1,375 folks showed up this time! It was an amazing tribute not only to Frank Hudgins, but a generous contribution to Hope Haven Children’s home and Union Mission. The Union Mission will always hold a special place in my heart. My own Brother found comfort & support there. It was an agonizing time for our family. My brother lost his life to alcoholism. Nothing we tried to do could save him. However he did find at least some rest at the Union Mission. We all are on a journey. I know that my Brother Drew did Love The Lord. He just didn’t know how to surrender the alcohol. I know I will see him again some day. There is no chasm that can separate us from love. Thank You Alone for taking the time to watch this video. Thank you also for your support too!
