IS200t replaces the IS250 by the way. The IS300 is now the middle man between the IS200t and IS350 meeting power numbers in the middle of the two with 255hp
+Ryan T Hey Ryan, as per Lexus Canada the IS200t RWD replaces the IS250 RWD while the IS300 AWD replaces the IS 250 AWD and the IS 350 RWD is discontinued. The IS 300 AWD is the middle model now for the 2016 IS's.
I don't see the point of the IS300. If the IS200t is 240hp with a 4 cylinder, why would I get a massive 3.5 V6 with only 255hp. Only 15hp difference?? Doesn't make sense to me. And how is replaces the IS250 when it was with 2.5 V6. You have the IS350 with 306hp. There is no need for anything in between the IS200t and the IS350.
The 200t is RWD and in our climate it doesn't make much sense as we have very harsh winters. So for our guests, the IS 300 is a more popular choice. Hope this helps.
+Lexus Of Edmonton Yes, of course. It is weird for me why Lexus don't have the IS200t AWD. Instead they made the IS300, just because the IS200t is not offered with AWD. This is like ...hey I want to buy a IS200t with AWD....Of course, but it comes with a 3.5 V6 and it's called IS300. So if I live in Canada and want to get a 4 cylinder, I can't because I need AWD there.
+Assen Spassov My guess is the 2.0T engine Lexus developed doesn't work with the existing AWD hardware; most Lexus cars sold worldwide generally are RWD so that makes sense (the NX is an exception as it uses a transverse-engine layout). Therefore, to satisfy a small market in North American snow belt, Lexus probably saw fit to instead use the existing hardware from the IS350 3.5 V6 and AWD combo but detune the engine to allow a lower price point.
omg I'm sooo happy you guys made a is300... good bye 2001 hello 2016!!! ... ps please make a swappable front-end/grill that thing throws me off a little... now it's either this car or. dodge challenger scatpack.... way to make my life harder!! lol
+Imran Khokhar Hi, could you send me the link where it shows it has it? I want to make sure my information is correct. I checked the specs again and only saw that the IS 300 has the Bi-Xenon Headlamps. The 2016 IS 350 Executive & F Sport Packages have LED headlamps but I could not find any info on the low beams for both models.
+Static Pupsik What's under the hood are the changes not exterior. With the 200t you get a 8-speed automatic Turbocharged 2.0L 4-Cylinder. And like what Ketian Cui said it's a Rear Wheel Drive. As well the 200t only has one F Sport Package the Series 1. The 300 has 3 F Sport Series and the 350 only has 2 F Sport Series.
See comment below regarding same question. I have copied you the same reply I sent to other individual. Hi, I double checked on Lexus Canada Website to make sure my information was correct and the 2016 IS 300 is a 3.5L V6. Check out the link: www.lexus.ca/lexus/en/automobiles/is#is300awd As well you can check out my pictures and see the EPA Label for this vehicle and it states its in the 3.5 Test Group.

Yep... Glad I got one in 2011... 11-12 were the only 350's that had the 3.5 313hp engine. This 3.0 is the same goddamn engine from a Aurion or Camry depending on your nation...not even TRD developed -_-
This sales woman was bad ass!
Love it!!! Pure perfection to drive
Does the is300 awd get better mpg than the is350 awd
+Alumnikiid They both have the same - 22/31/25 City/Highway/Combined mpg as per Lexus Canada website.

Is300 is a 3.0 liter motor. Is350 is a 3.5 liter motor, FYI.

You said it's a 3.5L. It's a 3.0L, a detuned version of the 3.5L.

Lexus Of Edmonton Hey, I checked on the Lexus usa website also, your information is correct. I had a slight misunderstanding. Thanks!
This is a bit off topic, but was curious if Lexus got the green light for the convertible RC?
+Lexus Cohen No problem :)
+Lexus Cohen Not to sure, I'll have to check into that and I'll let you know.
