What a great hunting video, Matt! I appreciate that you explain how hunting is an important part of wildlife conservation and the care taken in firearm/ammo preparation and when shooting to ensure ethical kills even at long ranges. I hope you get an ostrich soon. I also really like your focus on how wild meat is prepared and enjoyed. Years ago I worked at a place that had an annual wild game barbecue feast. People would bring various types of meat for all to sample, including deer, bear, elk, moose, caribou, raccoon, pheasant, geese, ducks, etc. A big surprise to me was how tasty mountain lion meat is. I assume that different African animal species each have their own flavor as well. Thanks for another wonderful adventure. Jess
@@psnwpestsnipernorthwest2196 . I seem to have become an ice hockey grandpa a lot these days and have been pigeon shooting more than rats lately. I subscribed to your channel. Good pest control work. Jess
Another awesome hunt video Matt! It sure looks like a beautiful part of the country where you live and hunt. Very fortunate to have liberal limits/quotas on different game and am envious that you are able to use silencers on your rifles. Keep the great videos coming!
respect brother. Nice shooting! I would love to one day get a chance to take down game from that distance. I have been watching your air gun videos so it was a pleasant surprise to see you shout other things as well. Greats shots! and congrats on the beginning of your journey of the "tiny ten." I didn't know that was a thing but I do now. I hope you get the rest, seeing that you respect the animals.
Great video again Matt! Was nice to meet you at IWA Show this year! Hope I will meat you there in March again! 😃 best regards from a German airgunner and UA-cam creator! Andi
Nice work Matt, Perfect explanation of trophy hunting as well. Been some negative press this week, antis bringing in celebrities to try and get people on their side... WE SHOULD SPONSOR YOU TO PRODUCE A FEATURE LENGTH DOCU' FOR BBC ETC TO SHOW THESE GUYS THAT WITHOUT MANAGED HUNTING THERE WOULD BE FAR FEWER PLACES WITH WILDLIFE.
I must say I'm from North West province and I'm not sure about a species difference but our duiker are much larger. Stealing from our maize fields clearly helps out a bit
Very good video again. You have a good attitude regarding trophy hunting and take of old animals out of the nature! What kind of pistole is yor guide carry on his belt - is it a Z99 South African Beretta clone? Regards from Switzerland
Ah okay. I saw the "Made in Finland" on the barrel in the intro and the ejection port looked like a Tikka and I just assumed the one in the video was a Tikka too. Thanks for clearing that up. Good shooting! I love seeing your clean, ethical shots.
Hi Matt I was wondering, have you ever considered using monolithics, like the VRG4 from Peregrine? I to use Eld-x, but was hoping to get your opinion on our home grown monolithics. Thanks in advance.
I’m not too keen on monolithics. I spoke to the guys at Peregrine earlier this year and they told me their bullets would not expand reliably at long range.
Aah ok, see I was also wondering about their ability to expand at longer ranges, since they require quite some velocity to expand completely. Thanks for the input tho.
@AirArmsHuntingSA , But concerning air rifle hunting, specifically the pellet aspect of things. Would you rather take as hp at high velocity, like the H&N Terminators, or heavy slugs/pellets at lower velocity, like JSB Monsters and H&N Rabbit Magnum? (For hunting purposes of corse, for rabbits and Guinea fowl) Would also like some advice on that seeing as I'm going hunting is a couple of week? Again, thanks in advance.
It depends... Guinea fowl for example have tough bodies and hard wingbones. A more solid and heavy slug would be better. Rabbits are soft, so a hollowpoint would be better.
Hi Does anybody have any good recomandation for a 1ste PCP air rifle and where I can get it. I am actually looking for gamo coyote whisper or Benjamin Marauder but I cannot find allot places that sell them in South Africa. Any recomandation for where I can buy it or any other good PCP air rifles?? P.S. Great video Matt
Ostrich are not Consideded invasive I dunno why he is shooting them... Alot of the time he lies and claims certain animals are invasive just to shoot them for trophy hunting. I thought ostrich was a protected species in SA
Matt, excellent production values on your video as always but personally I found watching you shoot the little duiker as he was lying down a little difficult to be honest. I know its a management kill...etc and have no issues. I am pro hunting and used to hunt Impala and kudu as a teen with my uncle in the northern transvaal back in the early 80's. What difference does it make if it was standing up...etc. Nothing I guess...i suppose I am just getting a bit more sentimental in my older age! Thorndale is a lovely looking place. I just hope it doesn't get stolen by the government.
I do get your point! I guess it comes down to what you are personally comfortable with. For me, I’d rather put in a good shot while it is lying down than risk a shot at an awkward angle as it stands up / moves away.
Hello Matt to purcese a fx impact x do you need a fire arms license in Italy i love that rifle is my dream rifle it look stunning is any body can help me out with it

I would love to! It can be quite difficult though.

Looks like a Browning HP (P35).
Great video, Love your videos... Would like to see some proper head shots on game with your 22-250?
great shot.
A question where can I buy the gopro side-shot ?
You are realy a great hunter,👍
Another great video Matt! Is the PH carrying a Browning Hi-Power?
From where did you get them green stickers witch you have them stick on the top scope adjustment.cheers.
Omg how long is the barrel on your .260?
I love your rifle. Is it a Tikka or a Sauer? I'm looking at getting a Tikka T3 with the same GRS stock. Probably same caliber.
It’s a Savage 12 VLP, but I do also have a Tikka
Ah okay. I saw the "Made in Finland" on the barrel in the intro and the ejection port looked like a Tikka and I just assumed the one in the video was a Tikka too. Thanks for clearing that up. Good shooting! I love seeing your clean, ethical shots.
Man you got me wanting to do this. Is there a link on how to organize a hunting trip here
Is the rifle stock a standard savage offering or is it custom?
Hi Matt do you know when FX Dreamline will be released in South Afrika?
Great video can't wait for next
I wish we had landscapes like this in my country:(
Hey Matt did the bullet expand on the second animal?
It did, but the ELD-Xs don’t expand much anyway. I prefer it that way, otherwise there wouldn’t be much meat left!
Great shooting

Geniet jou lekker duiker vleis😂
Yes! Great hunt and awesome location man.
What's the best tasting animal in this area?
What predators do you have in your area? Do you hunt them?
Does the recoil of the gun hurt your shoulder or not
Not at all. There is hardly any recoil.
Nice Duiker ❤

What was your name again? Thought matt.
Are ostrich considered invasive? I would imagine they do a lot of damage. Maybe I’m showing my ignorance but they are from Australia right?
No they are from SA
The common ostrich is a species of large flightless bird native to Africa.
@@omnomshibob you a couple of hundy years to late.

What rifle will kill a kudu
Do more hunting like that👍
Can you do some butchering vids . Would be curious to see how to do it
why are the guides packing heat? It cant be against the animals since is just pistols. Do they have a problem with poacher?
consider it a backup fire extinguisher...
What in the world is the shot placement on an ostrich? Don’t see that every day 😂😂😂.
I'm definitely not an expert but as far as I know the neck is the go to shot for ostrich.
verytall midget Talk about a small moving target
Definetly not a brain shot because the brain is smaller than the eye😅
