Nico's composure on the field, and off the field as such a young player is rare in college football. Even after taking big hits, with 2 fumbles, Nico never looked rattled. In fact, he was smiling and looking like he was having a good time playing the game. I've haven't seen him have that deer in the headlights look in his first 5 games. This game was his biggest test to date. The loss of two starting offensive tackles negatively effected the o-line play, but Nico did a good job of adapting and overcoming that challenge too. Vol fans need to enjoy watching this young man play while we have him. GBO!
I love the leadership that this young man Nico brings into the game, he understands what the coaches want from him: nothing more, nothing less. He has played within what the defense gives him, man OU defense was giving him a hard way to go but, he still kept his composure, you just can teach or coach that, he has a very bright future with his leadership skill set. GBO!!!!🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🏈❤
I’m a Buckeye but man Tennessee got them one! Nico is the truth! Crazy talent and has all the immeasurables and the scariest part is he’s only getting started!
Not a vols fan but Nico is freaking special! No way will HC lose trust in Nico, if anything that Vols Offensive Line played super Trash 🗑️ one of those fumbles rewatch it, Nico had a seam up the middle and right when he could let it fly the line didn’t hold off long enough!
@@williamsmith8790then you’re not using your eyes if you don’t think we let up on them. I can recall 3 plays in particular that we would’ve typically went for it on 4th down, & would’ve picked it up 9/10 times and instead we punted once right after the turnover on downs from the 40 to kick the game off, and we also settled for 2 FG’s on a 4th & 2 or less scenario. How can you claim to be a “real fan” and simultaneously NOT recognize how we throttled WAY BACK on aggressive play calling in an effort to play to the strength of our defense. They hadn’t proven they could march down the field & score on us throughout the entire first 3 quarters, so instead of risking the 1/10 odds of us turning it over on downs and giving them a short field, we punted it & pinned them back and dared their offense to prove they could beat us all night long, which they never managed to do. What we’re witnessing is the maturation process of Heupel as a head coach. Instead of always playing with a chip on the shoulder, like our hair is on fire & we may not get a chance to put it out again, he chose to feed off of our Defensive performance cause those boys were BALLING last night. You kinda sound like more of a “casual fan” than a diehard lifelong Vol with this statement.
Held him back lol yeah right OUs defense was lighting you guys up, he couldn't do anything Fortunately that Vols defense was lighting OU up even more especially on the line

Coach held him back tonight smh, showed mercy on oklahoma. Easily could've won by 20...at least
As a Vols fan, and a Heupel believer, not sure that’s true. He’s never held back before. I think if he could have hung 40 on them he would have.

@@williamsmith8790he was keeping Nico healthy for the future and not have any turnovers since OU offense was offensive and anemic
Held him back lol yeah right

They were gettin yards anytime they threw the ball. The foot was definitely took off the gas
Go Vols
We all know Heupel went soft on his old school.
