Well... Easy way to get rid of it: first of all, you are making a copy of door key on a laser cutter, so you can operate this thing with open door. At second you take some sandpaper and polish this thing until it shines like balls of the cat.
Thats what we Turning Guys call SFM Zonk, those SFM Zonks tend to like a little more cutting force with a deeper depth of cut, and a little bit more feed, but that tool angle doesn't offer any favors either, considering what's there it's a pretty decent little guy :P them small parts and them raging RPMs I tell ya,
I never knew that I wanted an entire set of machined steel chess pieces. Maybe one set would be gun blued. It would be so satisfyingly to play on a dense hard wood board.

@@indubitably424 Fair play lad. There is a reason for manual and CNC. Manual is a great way to learn the mathematics and then apply it to CNC and your life will be easier and you will make more interesting parts ..
I used to work in a machine shop when I was 21 or 22. I was on and end mill was think, I used to love to watch the lathe machines work, it was really satisfying to watch.
i still remember the best cutter i ever used was like QSER\L and 3.something mm (old series) was beautiful F0.04mm thank you tungaloy ^^ sadly turning inserts are a little under the competition ^^
This is what i want to do.... Machining with all old-school type machinery, really want to step up and learn CNC programming etc. i feel it's the next level to progress in machining. That and a metal additive 3D printing!

And have always loved engineering on a small scale, producing parts or tool's needed for things I didn't have or part's I couldn't afford. Always have been computer literate, CNC programming and additive manufacturing with semi precious metals seems so appealing and because there are things I want that I only want to build.... NOT BUY
Question.. what type of VNMG insert is that? I’m trying to find a good replacement for ones I’m currently using. I’ve tried sandvik, widia, and iscar. The iscar 807 is the best result so far getting a tool life of 150 hits. The others barely make it to 100 before chipping out.
@@TungaloyCorporation the hardness varies there is no consistency. But usually between 4-10. It seems like the softer the material the worse it gets. The harder material we are breaking inserts. Feed rates are adjusted per specs. As well as spindle speeds. And I’ve tried slowing them down and speeding them up. The chipper inserts just aren’t doing what they are meant to do!
Ceramic is just metal that's too hard to melt and must be sintered :) well... that's reducing it incredibly, but the point stands, it's just mostly made of other metals
@TungaloyCorporation They do make cool stuff, but don't discredit ur self this was a good part. (I work at a machine shop during summer's loading parts. Hopefully I learn how to operate a machine one day)

Tungsten tool bits are incredible.. the are light as a feather but atleast 10× stronger then regular steel bits
