    That tridem blue T800H came from Vanderwell contractors in slave lake they have a full fleet of those trucks and tandem chip tractors. I spent a few months working in their shop when I worked for finning and they maintain that fleet very well.

    Mechanical running off the tower on the auxiliary id guess. Ive never seen a #1 wench run off a pto on the main box. All ive ever run in beds and rig up trucks. But hydraulics are starting to take over.

    • @TimelapseTruckerRTOT
      @TimelapseTruckerRTOT  2 роки тому +1

      everything here is hyd. i have seen the odd pto driven winch but like you said strange for # 1 id keep it lever actuated, i haven't had anything mechanical really since 2010, roadtrain had a half dozen of them, 4 330 inch beds and 3 tractors lever style and push button style, the planet truck had a pto but just for the 5th wheel to lift

      Oshkosh trucks are always found in the construction and military defense units and other things that they make and i know there website as well and municipal and airport as well plow trucks and firefighting trucks as well and there airport crash trucks are like really big super soakers and you can always call them in for barn and bon fires

    the '98 WS 6x6 float (Lot 1097) had a 425hp Cat 3406 in it, at least according the auction results online. The '95 W900 (jimmy's truck) did indeed have an N14 (435hp), details don't say how fresh the motor was only that there's 4700hrs on it.

    • @TimelapseTruckerRTOT

      you can't really trust that stuff, id most likely go and look if i was interested, my truck was the same deal and bought it on line sight unseen besides auction pictures, which looked good i guess. lots of recent engine work, tons of receipts, no one noticed to look it up to see it was a 450 hp 2002 engine in a 2013 truck. the engine is good, minus its for a cube truck. not really a C500 engine but ill rock er till i pop er. maybe then a good replacement or a new job

    Who is your fav rig up shop? Airland builds some nice looking trucks along with Lennox
    Instant unsubscribe if you start driving a Volvo lol
    A guy needs a golf cart when your at Riches Brothers the one in GP is not bad but Edmonton is huge.
    Those Crow T800 winch trucks are like brand new, they must of went under they got hoes and cats with like 300 hrs on them, shame to see but it's life in Alberta one yr you can't grow fast enough next your bankrupted.

      copy that on alberta life, i did the same in life when i got here till i was drowning in debt cause the oilfield went tits up, i had a good run for 8 years then it seemed every 2-3 years just when i was getting caught up it got shitty again. its sad everytime i go to ritchies and see really nice stuff. but hopefully they are just shedding the stuff thats not paid for and keep the old stuff thats paid. no volvo in the future i was just curious, but if i did the channel would blow up, seems all the hiway guys that pull reefer van and do nothing but talk in their seats have a huge following.

      rig ups....... not camex, i like marcep,lennox but i didn't really like their consoles with clicky turn style band brake, never right, and electric of hyd nice cause it works without air but the rest of the truck doesn't, it lacked sensitivity for me, i had a winch tractor that was lennox the rack was great but like i was saying that console took up the whole floor between the seats, that a lot for you basic D sign dawgs winch band brake controls, i see they are still doing the same cause i saw it in the sale, my favorite was custom built for me my roadtrain texas bed built by our old mechanic that was a wicked fabricator. but if i had to buy it off the shelf they all seem generic these day, edmonton truck,airco,airland,camex,drive product, marcep has the best console layout and looks. lacombe welding did a couple of trucks for us at roadtrain they were pretty well built and good looking too, but he's pretty pricey

      @@TimelapseTruckerRTOT Just giving you a hard time about the Volvo, I think most of those highway guys have big followings as most people think that's what trucking is, not to offend anyone but pulling a van body your just a courier in a bigger van.
      I've always been drawn to the bigger iron be it construction/minning equipment, oilfield trucking to heavy haul RGN something that takes more skill then pulling a legal sized load. I watch 3 to 4 other trucking channels also on the heavy haul side and their all small also under 50K and 3 of those are based out of the USA. Most of those highway guys channels there daily vloggers, honestly just being a Canadian making content based in western canada is what holds a channel like yours back, your style and production value crushes a lot of those channels but you make content that fits in a small box, western canada small population compared to the east and the US, oilfield content that doesn't have a huge following in any market, but honestly keep doing what your doing your content is awesome and I'm sure most of your followers would agree.

    How often do you have tire blow outs? How often do you change tires? How does the maintenance run on a truck like that? How is greasing a truck like that work?

    • @TimelapseTruckerRTOT
      @TimelapseTruckerRTOT  2 роки тому +2

      dont jinks me, i had a blow out when i took some rail stuff to fort mac in the winter, it blew as i got lined up on the track, not often otherwise, i keep an eye on them, im running pretty thin right now so it might happen soon. i grease twice a month or hit the drive shaft more if im doing a lot of highway driving or the winch and rolls if i do lots of winch work , i change oil and filters around 300 hours

    That big shack KW @ 45 min was out of FSJ pulling tanks mostly. The damage to the back cabinet is from the hose hanger... sliding the tank way ahead for off hwy weight.

      very nice looking unit. id drive that. would love to be able to get that much slide. most oilfield winch trucks only just forward of middle, the odd one has more, but 90% of the trailers wont let you slide that far anyways
