    WALL-E is easily my favorite PIXAR, just for how different it is but HOW WELL the story works. It actually makes me think it's a bit of a tribute to Issac Asimov, who often used robots in his work as "positive forces" and not the "anti-technology" message most sci-fi stories adhere to (like THE TERMINATOR and others).

    3:59 Surprisigly, that is only answered in the Wall-E videogame. I had it on PS2 back in the day. There was a huge storm of sand and trash like tornadoes of it and every Wall-E was told to go to safety. Then OUR Wall-E got to his trailer home first and closed the door on everyone else (Father Gabriel style) and they all died. Man! This movie IS dark! 😂

    • @JakeLovesStories
      @JakeLovesStories  3 роки тому +75

      That makes so much sense, because I thought it was weird how he had his own place but there were no other structures like that, it also explains why he fit so well on the storage belt he sleeps on, it was made for all the Wall-E units, WOW everything makes sense now.

  • @lol_spider1214
    @lol_spider1214 3 роки тому +9

    The reason why he is t he only Wall-e alive is possibly (from what i heard) a glitch im his code, making a tad bit sentient and resistant to his own code. While others work till they die this one cares enough to fix himself and keep going, taking parts to survibe for so long

    Some of the questions that most people have about this movie are more answered through implications and behind-the-scenes talks rather than on screen. For instance, your question as to why Wall-E was alive while the rest weren't. Well, it's implied and talked about in the BTS, that he's different from the other iterations due to a glitch, so he develops more human-like aspects, along with an ability to think beyond his job and therefore keep himself in one piece. That glitch is why Eve's static kiss at the end brings him back. It caused the flaw again and "reawakened" him.

  • @angel6017

    9:57 is the part I keep replaying, Wall-E is just so adorable!!!!

  • @The_Story_Of_Us
    @The_Story_Of_Us 3 роки тому +6

    What stood out to me about what you were talking was the reversals that happen throughout the story, especially with WALL-E and EVE, how their dynamic shifts and changes in a sort of push-pull way. Which makes the ending so great when WALL-E loses his memory and becomes distant and robotic whilst EVE displays great affection. It’s so emotional.
    Oh, and the geniuses at Pixar did this with robots that can’t form sentences longer than a few words, if any. Like think about what a weird process that would be for a screenwriter doing this, robots communicating in mostly unintelligible noises and saying each other’s names. And yet they made one of the best animated films of all time out of it.

    Since you've STUDIED actual screenwriting, how come no one's recommending you movies that showcase that particular skill? These are good movies, yeah, but there's a lot of movies that really flex their muscle in the writing department, like Inception (which I know you reacted to, good choice). Others like The Prestige, Memento, Following, The Sixth Sense, Usual Suspects, LA Confidential, Love Actually, Amadeus, Back To The Future, 2001 Space Odyssey, Run Lola Run, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Gravity, Castaway, Parasite, The Godfather II (which you can only appreciate after part I). These are just some movies that have some aspect or element to their story-telling that is unusual, unexpected, goes against conventions, or otherwise pushes the envelope.

      Those are definitely on the list, I'm afraid about LOTR though, I heard some of those movies are 3 hours long and that's a lot of editing lol. Star Wars is also on the list as well.

    I know this is your profession lol but do you ever watch movies just to sit listen and enjoy them? Cuz you literally just dissected every single millisecond of this film 😂😂. Is that your thing?

      I have over 100 screenplays, but I printed them all in the last few months so right now they're more decorations than anything only read 2 of them so far.
